The worst thing you can do with a bad back is to become sedentary and playing golf with your modifications is a great way to help your muscles recover, with some warmups of course. I had back surgery 25 years ago, I’m 65 now. The nurse literally had me walking just a couple hours after the surgery and the doctor released from the hospital the same day. You are more likely to get an infection in the hospital. My mother got a back infection from surgery years before me and it wasn’t good.

I'm in the UK and this interests me as i have a pretty bad hip (it's my right hip but I'm left handed so it's my front leg/hip) i start every round on pain killers which help for maybe 6-7 holes....from then onwards it gets progressively worse by home 12ish i cannot shift my weight onto my front leg....should i
A) carry on as normal and play a decent front 9 and a bad back 9.
B) try to adapt my swing (if so how?) so that i basically keep the weight 50/50 on both legs for the whole round?
C) just play 9 holes?
Anyone suggesting answer C I'm just saying it's not going to happen i just put it there as i knew someone would suggest it.

My pain comes from, not the back turn - which I do correctly - but from the downswing and release.
