Just found your channel and binge watched your videos. The hard work doesn't go unnoticed. Keep up the good work!
Thanks, glad you're enjoying the channel.
This is awesome. I think reflective paint would look really cool in the recessed areas.
Thanks for showing your whole creative process. Awesome!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I really need to get into 3D Printing. A lot to learn. Thanks for the video!
While it took a few iterations you showed that with a little hard work and trial and error you can make a sweet phone case. Love the silver & copper effect that is seriously awesome.
Thanks, it was a good project for getting better with Fusion 360!
Great result! I liked the dolly shot from inside the printer as it was printing.
:D
wow, the case turned out fantastic! initially it sounded so straight forward, but when you showed the iterative process it really became clear how much time and effort you put into this!
i'm not sure i'd do it, but the result is REALLY great, and the video was very interesting.
thanks for sharing your super impressive work!
After this project I truly appreciate the history bar in Fusion for making a lot of small changes quickly :P Thanks for watching!
Superb work and a great looking case. Well done. Cheers!!
Thank you!
This looked just like any other video of the same subject, until you've started talking the iterational process. That's what made a "regular nice showcase of what can be done" filling 95% of YT content into something useful and "alive". I like it.
Glad you enjoyed the process.
I really like the chain mail design, especially how it pops with a bit of color in it. The only thing that kinda ruins the look for my taste are the few diagonal lines that probably come from the nozzle running across the print before a new layer starts at a different location. With a bit of manual tweaking of the g-code by hand, or maybe with some settings in cura you could probably even remove those marks. Not shure if playing with the combing or avoid printed parts setting in cura (under travel settings) would help here.
I extremely impressed at what you did by designing these cases. Those added touches of color really made them pop. Speaking of color I was given an assignment of finding someone to design or design myself quick color identifiable covers for over 70 tracking scanners we use in our facility. I was given the option of slapping on some colored duct tape and cleaning around some parts with an exact knife. Needless to say, I prefer the clean snap on, snap off option of a TPU cover. I think that I'm up for the challenge but where to begin? Help please.
Good work bravo👍
Oh man, Lindy! You're a force of nature. I'm crazy envious of how precise your eyecrometer is.
Hehehe thanks. Adding a nozzle width of tolerance to each side got it in the ballpark for the first try.
Well done ❤
Nice to see the whole process. How long did this take? Seems like with all those prints it may have been a few days. I like that you showed the reality of not getting it right the first time (some videos it just seems like people get things right first and first prints are successful). Fusion360 still gives me troubles but videos like these give me hope.
a good effort.
Thank you for sharing. I lie much the design and wonder if I can get the Fusion 360 file. Of course I can redo but in case you don't mind it'll save me time. Little question : Do you think that putting some resin could add some strength without loosing flexibility ?
Please what printer can I use to start my journey in 3d printing plus I love ur design
you should make the design hava a hole then you put a the cooper plate inside the case ,when the phone is heated it have an air cooling system on the case, the phone temperature will slow down
Nice
Any idea how much filament was used? I'm curious about the final cost (neglecting time and effort) compared to something off the shelf.
I really love your video great job I’m gonna try 3d printer is on the way hehe
It's a great tool to have on hand!
Pretty nice design, I own a Zenfone V Live and I don't like the current cases for it, there just so bland! I hope that something like this becomes available for the phone someday
Thanks, several months later it's still holding up great and has protected the phone through several accidental drops.
This is genius
Have you thought about adding straps like a watch, offset a bit? Note 10 plus. Asking for a friend :).
can you please make a tutorial video case for the SamSung S8 plus
Do you do custom cases? Such as anything for the Asus ROG phone 2?
Hey great video. What paint are you using and does it last, seeing as phones are always in and out of pockets. thanks
The paint was regular acrylic, but the water based polyurethane sealer is what makes it more durable but still flexible so it doesn't crack and peel. Not sure on how long it holds up to in and out of pocket.
Hey......Can you do this for other phone cases?
Hum good
Can you use this filament on a creality cr 10s pro
I’ve been a subscriber for about 4 months now, but have never commented before. I love your channel, I love your projects, and I even love your voice. Please don’t change as it will break my heart.
Someday I’ll take the leap into printers but for now I’m still monkeying around with my router. But I can’t help but continually think that the majority of the design is the same, and that fusion 360 might be a good thing to invest time in learning.
I have it, I’ve tried it, for some reason it isn’t intuitive for me. Now, many moons ago when AutoCAD was new, I taught myself both it and 3d modeling in it. But fusion is one of these new age ones that just act differently.
If you’re ever looking for video ideas, one or two on the program would be awesome. And if not, if you could point me in the direction of a good starting point that may have helped you it would be appreciated.
But, most importantly, don’t change, I love you. Just remember those two things.
Agreed, it's an overwhelming program... I put off leaning it until 123d design was officially scrapped by Autodesk. The workflow for this video was a frustratingly slow back and forth between fusion and RUclips tutorials... It is worth the time investment, absolutely fantastic tool. I started a playlist of 3d modeling tutorials that helped me, so eventually that might be a useful starting point if you decide to jump in :) Thanks!
Lars Cristensen made a superb set of tutorial videos for Fusion360 - He called them 'Fusion 360 for absolute beginners' and put them all up on RUclips. They helped me enormously making the switch to using Fusion360 instead of the older cad packages I was used to... It's well worth the effort to make the switch. HTH. Cheers!!
Can you make one for the rog 2 phone?
Can you help he to make alter ego for realme 6
Hello, I was just curious what software you are using to trim the case to what it needs to be to make the case
Fusion 360 for modeling and Cura for slicing.
How does it handle getting run over by an electric unicycle? 🤣. Impressive work!!
Ha well the case would be fine, phone probably not so much.
This is awesome! You're so smart. We should get married.
I know this in an older video but is there a more detailed version of this, I'm trying to learn how to use fusion a bit better and figured what better way than to print out a case
There is a video by Make Anything channel which goes into detail on a phone case. Different style but might give you more info.
@@LindyDesignLab great thanks a bunch
Wow! You're a crack!!!
Can you make the same for redmagic 6 plissss
we need step by step to create our own.
hello i would like to make a google pixel 6 phone case in black by 3d print.
it is possible ??? im ready to pay thanks so much
I think you can get 3d model for the phone, directly from Asus.
or maybe download it somewhere else?
Hmm, honestly never though to check.
Any cases for the Asus ZenFone V original?
Unfortunately I only have the V to work with.
What is the name of the site where you make the 3d model? thanks.
Fusion 360. There is a free version for non-commercial use.
what kind of filament did you use? PLA. PETG. ABS.
TPU
Hi what material did you use please?
Cheetah by Ninjatek
How much time actually it take to print in min ?
A few hours, don't remember exactly.
How did you get it to stick to your printer bed?
Cheetah sticks to my PrintBite surface ok cold or typically with the bed heated a bit so the edges stay down. Hard part can be getting it unstuck.
@@LindyDesignLab ok thanks :)
How long did it take to print?
A few hours, slow speed so the TPU comes out right.
edges makes headches
which 3d printer is that?
Ultimaker 2+
I fear i may have to do myself for the samsung s8 to provide extra cover , cause i"m using a keyboard cover
need xiaomi note 10 lite 3d printer case
What 3D printer is used for this ?
Ultimaker 2
I need a phone case made for my UMIDIGI F1, talk about a severe lack of cases for this wonderful phone
what type of filament is this ?
TPU
i can't ever find a case for this type of phone. any help?
If you have the same phone as me, there's an Etsy link in the description to get the case, patterned or flat back.
Lindy Design Lab I have the Asus ZenFone V original not the Live
What about heat dissipation? Everyone pretend like it's not a thing? Am I going to cook my battery vs no case?
I've had this case on my phone since the video was made. No heat issues. Also dropped it on tile and concrete floors several times, no cracks. Maybe I'm just lucky.
I have the big brother the Asus ZenFone V live is the little brother
Rugged style case.huh
sorry but for the price you are demanding for the File is more than what a Case would cost here
Well.. I think you buy the file to print a number of covers, you wouldn't buy it just to print one
