I cant believe how good you two are, Garret a man with the hand skills and abilities that would put a modern day shipwright to shame and a woman that works alongside him without hesitation and all the time she rocks those short short shorts that she wears, Congratulations to the pair of you on your workmanship and dedication.
Greetings from a warm and sunny Switzerland. I am 75 years old, and have been messing around in boats for most of my life. I've been following your videos from the beginning, and have been very impressed with your woodworking skills and sheer determination. I was very pleased in this video, to see that the fruit of your labors is now coming together and that the results are truly wonderful. Congratulations on a job well done. I can't wait to see it finished. :)
This video was pure joy to experience! Your house is absolutely beautiful. The story you have woven over the past months leading to this grand reveal is nothing short of magic. I am a great fan of the Stanford Marching Band that appears in a state of pure chaos...and then, every bandmember takes a single step in a variety of directions and -- BOOM! -- a perfect image materializes! I thought of that miracle as you gave us the pan of your cabin. High paw!!
I'm in the middle of America, and Sixty Nine, I'm so proud of you two, and I've followed you for a lot of years and viewed every episode, Congrats on a beautiful Ship, or, as you'd say, "Fine Cruising Vessel"
Happy Belated Birthday Ruthie! Garret is one lucky man to have a Talented and Beautiful woman in his life. I think this video has the most positive energy of any of your videos. All of the videos have had great content and it was not just fluff to get video out. Seeing things come together after all the work that you two have done is just amazing! I am smiling along with you two. I can not forget Swap he is a smart Dog and evaluates problems as in navigating the latter, He ain't stupid! the three of you are great together. Oh tell Garret Older Women are better they know what they want in Life!
Sails? Now that good news.so happy for you two.shes a pretty boat.thanks to the hard work you have done great to see all the helpers along the way.can hardly wait to see you sail into the sunrise
If you tie a soft rope loop onto your crescent wrench, you can slide your hand through it, and never have to watch the wrench sink to the bottom. Old stage lighting trick from when we used to hang from the rafters and didnt want a wrench taking out someone on stage
You have done a wonderful job building your new boat and the reef points in your new sails will add even more character to your beautiful boat. I am now anxious to see you start sailing!
You can just see Ruth's excitement talking about the cabin getting finished. It looks beautiful. You guys have done a wonderful job.... You should both be so proud of what you have accomplished...👍
Wow, Just have to comment on just how Stunning Rediviva is looking.... Just so 'Spiffy' ...... The Oil on all that beautiful timber really brings out the whole effect .... My 'Engineers Eye' just wants to Round Off or Chamfer the bottom corner ofthose Vertical Timbers in the Saloon. My Eye says it is too blunt and I can see many a Head-Bash or Elbow/Arm knock on those corners .... :-) :-) :-). Thanks for showing us those Stunning Sails, Just so 'Old School' and so fits the Overall Character of Her.... Very best to All, thanks for taking us along with you on your Journey.... Cheers from New Zealand
The boot is looking awesome. Following you for a couple of years now and is nice to see all getting finished. Love your channel. Greetings from the Netherlands
That table is a piece of artisan furniture good work guys, cant wait for you to set sail, ive been watching since the keel poor, will send you some funds when you set sail so you can enjoy the hard work over the years
gangway stairs dog tip: from my experience with similar steep steps on the boat. dogs paws don't stick very well to hard polished wood. we got these cork grip things for the stairs, and a carpet with those grip mat things sewed to the bottom placed at the base of the stairs once the dog has done it a few times without slipping. their confidence goes up.
Love the things you two do and the way you do them. Many kudos and much admiration for you both on persevering through the years on what is such a dauntless task which you are completing to such a high standard. It’s truly a world class feat of accomplishment! You both should, and need to, feel justifiably proud to the N’th degree. As a 69 year old craftsman with equally high standards in many fields including (small) boat building and sailmaking it pains me to point out one very big problem. As much as you love him and as much as you haven’t noticed because he lives with you every day, Swab is simply too old to navigate your companionway safely on his own. The only reason he made it down on his own is because he loves you as much as you love him, but please, don’t keep trying to encourage him to do it on his own. With the design of your companionway steps and the length of the jump involved, it’s simply beyond him at his age and no good will come of it in the end if you train him to enter and exit on his own! At 69, with the usual bumps and bruises that life doles out along the way, I can tell you with great certainty that age definitely slows you down and restricts the things that you cannot do any more. It’s the same for Swab. Please check with your vet and then treat poor old Swabby with the love, care and attention he deserves in his senior years. Thanks for listening, I love all three of your adventures.....
I Remember When I Hit The Big Three O, It Was The Spring Of '93, I Just Made SSG E6 And On My Way To Somalia ... Little Did I Know The Shit Show That Was Going To Happen In The Fall Of That Same Year ... Anyways, Happy Belated Ruth !!! ... Rediviva Looks Gorgeous All Oiled Up !! ... Bravo To Swab For Conquering The Step Ladder ! Keep Doing What Your Doing .. Because What You Are Doing Is Amazing !! YAY Sails !!!
Garret, great attention to the details. this is what makes this a unique and most beautiful boat. well done mate!! it's all coming together. can hardly wait for the first sail.
Ruth: It looks amazing." Amazing?! That is an understatement. How about fantabulously awesome?! You guys have done amazing things and it really shows. Happy Belated Birthday Ruthie. The main sail makes a perfect birthday gift for you and Rediviva. Have a great weekend you two.
Garrett is going to go stir crazy once they set sail. Maybe start building a model ship for their next build. Gotta do something with all that 'gold' wood scraps that he has stashed away. As a carpenter i recognize his nature to think twelve steps ahead for eveything he does. You guys have done good.
I discovered this channel during the Covid shut down. I binged on the first four years ( or was it five?). I now follow the updates so the time frame is more real. The boat is amazing. What is even more amazing is how the two of you have stuck with it and with each other. I look forward to seeing her under sail.
Swab the sailing dog!! Aww geeze my heart.... I just can't believe the state of her all the work you guys have done.. those sails are sweet. I worked on a schooner 18th century in steel an hard woods 92 ft. Nighthawk... I loved the sails made just as the sails are for your ship... I'm excited to see y'all set sail testing her out for your journey!!! Sending Love an light ✌🏻💗☺️❣️
The high five with the dog was the perfect finish... Absolute work of art... The sax to close finished the episode with such class... What you two have created is just stunning...
I have to say that at first I wasn't getting all those different colors and woods together ...but now seeing the interior more complete it is really working! - so impressed with the vision you guys had, and where that has lead you
Surfing YT, come across a couple crazy kids moving snow around a crappy trailer with outhouse attached! Every week for 6 years I watched this ship grow, maybe to something bigger than the three of you. I think the significance of this is felt by those of us getting older in years. So proud to watch your mark in this world, great job! It's not what you take it's what you leave in your wake!
Happy Birthday Ruth. Nice nails but your a sailor at heart they may not last that long. Rediviva is a fine little ship and a beautiful home. Very much enjoy your story.
You surprised me. I thought you would have gone the George Buehler route of "shims without shame" but your method worked well. Also, for Swab. Have you considered putting down a non-skid doormat for him to land on when he jumps down so he doesn't have to worry about slipping? The oil looks wonderful. Isn't it great when it starts to come together and the tools/mess are elsewhere? Congratulations.
Happy belated Birthday Ruthie, your home is looking better and better with every passing day. Oh, and now we know where Garrett first learnt to love Gorgeous Blondes!
Hi its getting very exciting sail away you have come a long way since those early days snow and tough conditions I've been watching since the start I just love Thursday morning to see you guys and your progress can't wait to see your sails bent on best of Luck Garry/IRELAND
Your hair always looks great! Also, we have a dog that is reluctant at times just like swab. Ours won’t go through small spaces and won’t walk on white or cracked paving stones 😂
The boat is looking very good with here interior near completion. As swab ages, that climbing and dropping into the cabin will be more difficult. Happy Birthday Ruth. The best days are ahead.
You weren't the only ones smiling 😃 when the table went in. We all smiled with you.
The expression on Ruthie's face when Swab rejected her request... Priceless.
Good stuff guys. Liked and subscribed
I cant believe how good you two are, Garret a man with the hand skills and abilities that would put a modern day shipwright to shame and a woman that works alongside him without hesitation and all the time she rocks those short short shorts that she wears, Congratulations to the pair of you on your workmanship and dedication.
She is certainly looking the part now, great job. She is a credit to you both and the people that have helped along the way.

Thank you John!
I had to cast this from my phone onto my television this week so I could take in the gleam and shine. Lookin grand folks. Happy birthday!
Two very nice and talented people. The boat looks fantastic.
To think you started with nothing and created a wonderful boat is very impressive. One of the most honest reality shows I enjoy. Thanks for sharing.
Just the best, seeing Swabby do that, Thanks for showing that...
You guys are a very talented 30 and 29! The workmanship is impressive!
Wonderful is the best way to describe this time in your flow.
Couple of my favourite dreamers. Cabin is sweetening up for sure.

Big day for celebrating, arrival of mainsail
Happy Birthday old lady! (Clearly the pot calling the kettle black)
