I have always known it was complex, but I am learning a lot about just how complex. For instance I love how you teach us to check depth and the like every thirty minutes or so, the moisture content testing, and things like that. Very cool info Zach.
I'm in Iowa in a tractor in the middle of a field planting corn filming for my RUclips channel watching a Minnesotan plant corn on RUclips ...if that doesn't say that 2020 nothing does.

I died laughing when the bluetooth didn't work!! Thanks for the video Mr. Millennial Farmer!! It's so awesome to learn more about farming from these videos. Thank you for helping feed America!!
I talked to various family members. You should have 5 new subscribers. One of my sisters said she is amazed at the amount of work takes and that family farms are under appreciated.
My grandfather was born (1897) and raised in Pembina County, North Dakota. He planted with a horse growing up. That old MM would have been heaven to him.
Great video! My dad was a vocational agriculture teacher for many years would have love to have seen this video. He is gone now, but, he would never have even imagined planting corn at 10 mph. He thought if you were going 5 mph you were flying across the field. Thank you for sharing. I really enjoyed watching this equipment and you in the field.
Gee, I think I'd be lost on a tractor now with all this computer stuff, I'm from old school farming, you really do make these video's fun and interesting to watch. Thanks.
It is so interesting to hear you explain the farming processes where soil quality, crop residual usages and all the other things that the uneducated public has no idea that you not only need to know but USE, and help to improve your farm. You and your crew are so fun to follow
Enjoying your video. While watching I remembered my dad telling me that when he was a young boy he planted corn with a mule. My have thing have changed. Love watching your videos. Thanks to all farmers.
Zack when you say there is no substitute for manually checking the seed placement, the Japanese call that "go and see" their term for that is Genchi Genbutsu or Genchi for short.
I used to help my dad plant back in the late 60's, with our two-row planter. Today's technology would be incomprehensible to him. I learned so much just in the last two days, from Dodge Brothers Farm and Ranch yesterday, and here today.
I am from the Netherlands and I watch all of your videos on RUclips. And I must say, it is great to see someone like you working the fields like you do. I never realized that the equipment you use, is so complicated. I have been driving tractors myself but they were much more simple. Keep posting your videos and I will keep watching them. And all the best to you and your family.
Zach, I remember as a kid the smell of the dirt when we fired up the planter in the spring. An everlasting memory. Thanks for sharing. What you do educates everyone who follows you. Great Job
Fascinating to watch. Growing up in Middle Tennessee, Tobacco country, I never experienced anything Remotely like what you are doing. The choreography is just amazing. Thanks to you and the thousands just like you.
Watching from michigan and loving every minute of it. I don't have a operation even close to yours but i still enjoy it. Only have 35 head cattle do sum hay and little corn for silage. Ours is pretty small with only around 325 acres we own of pasture and hay and rent another 100 for corn. Enough of my rambling thanks and keep up the good work my friend.
Rough the shiny finish of the line a bit with the/a knife blade. If you carry a bit of sandpaper, it works even better. The roughened tube finish (just a little!) will grab the fitting way better..
Hi Zack I’m a kids who loves faming and machines rumbling along paddocks/fields and farming all started with my AKUBRA hat. You have inspired me to realise what fun farming is but the difficulty’s of farming and consequences that also come with farming. You really have inspired me

You know that Adaptive Curves is the autosteer setting for headlands👍 And in steep country it's all we use going around terraces and other obstacles. Keep it up!
A farmer...big deal, whatta you need, a shovel and a rake!! Oh, and and a few million bucks worth of equipment!! And a fricken PHD to run it all!! Wish I lived closer.. I'm going down to help (watch) alfalfa bailing next week in Imperial county.. excited!
We just started today. It sure is nice to be out planting corn in April. It's been awhile since we've been able to do that. It's great when you can work in the field & there's no mud on the tires. Hopefully it continues on that way.
Love your videos and I very much appreciate your work Zach. I'm not a farmer, but did grow up on a dairy farm, so for me it is just fantastic to ride along as you go about your very essential job for our country and the world. I'm sure managing your camera's and producing the videos is very very labor intensive so just want to thank you and your family.
Northern Illinois here. The good neighbor I help, has almost half of his corn in the ground. Another neighbor is done with corn and starting beans when it dries out again.
Zach, thank you for another video! I grew up farming in Eastern Washington at a time where a lot of guess work with chemicals etc. was the norm. It is amazing to watch the care of the land and the science involved. It creates more of an appreciation for our land and our farmers and makes me proud of my roots as a farmer when I was young. Just a thank you to you and your family for everything you do for all of us. God Bless!

Man them new tractors do everything themselves, on our farm we are still using an old John deere 4430 to dig up our fields, and a john deere 4020 to plant.
Holy buckets! YOU really are a millennial. Didn't know you need an IT degree to run the tractor and to setup a field for planting! What can one say but AWESOME!
The amount of technology that has been incorporated into the planting process is unbelievable. Also to know what has to be done to use the technology is another process. Well done.
3:55 from my experience using those fittings on pneumatics on robots, if it pops out cut the hose back about 1/4". Those push fittings bite onto the tube and they can pop off from wear. If you don't cut the tube back a bit it won't be able to get bite and it'll keep popping out.
Any chance that they will let you hook that to your 24 row planter for comparison to the 8360r? Sweet setup though. 16 route at 10 mph is a 32 rope planter.
I ABSOLUTELY love technology when it makes jobs VERY efficient. For instance making planting EASY with a grid, for moisture, topography map. Just amazing. Love it.
Awesome! I grew up on a farm but now work in hi-tech (software company in Silicon Valley). It's amazing to see the culmination of both farming and tech. I wish I was farming again.
