  • Ian reviews the Shiva Surfboard.
A groundbreaking hybrid design with a unique 4+1 fin setup. You can now enjoy the freedom to choose between single fin, 2+1, thruster, or quad fin configurations, all within a single board. Whether you're a globetrotting adventurer in need of a travel companion or a home surfer seeking simplicity, the Shiva is the perfect single board quiver.
With the Maurice Cole Shiva, you'll never compromise on performance or options. This board shines in any setting, delivering unparalleled versatility and adaptability. Its innovative design empowers you to effortlessly switch between fin setups, allowing you to tailor your surfing experience to every wave and condition.
Featuring a single concave and a nose-to-tail hard edge, our design ensures constant speed and agility. The addition of a spiral vee off the tail enhances manoeuvrability, while its very low rocker makes it an exceptional paddling board. From knee-high waves to massive barrels, this board performs flawlessly in various conditions.
Unlock limitless possibilities and elevate your skills with this game-changing Hybrid surfboard. Get yours today and embark on a journey of unparalleled performance and convenience.
What you won't be able to gauge from images is how Maurice Cole's boards feature a Reverse Vee on the underside with the hard, crisp rails from tail to nose. This rail profile provides significant drive and speed. Over the last three years, Maurice has tucked this rail edge a copious amount to 'hide' the edge in powerful turns to allow the surfboard to break free like a more traditional, softer shortboard rail. Similar to its original counterpart, the new Maurice Cole Reverse Vee defies conventional design by flipping it on its head. While most boards feature concave up front and Vee at the back, the Reverse Vees sport Vee beneath the chest. This unique configuration enhances immediate rail engagement upon dropping in and enables more aggressive rail turns. Experience the innovative performance of this and you will not look back!
Don't miss out on the opportunity to own a surfboard that offers unparalleled adaptability and incredible paddling capabilities. Get ready to elevate your surfing experience with our versatile design.

Great video, but really confusing, in most of your other videos, you explain that having soft forgiving rails are better, especially for our waves, how are sharp rails forgiving then? It might be my inexperience, but it’s the complete opposite? Cheers

how's this compare to the rv hybrid?

The Shiva's innovative design & fin setup empowers you to effortlessly switch between fin setups, allowing you to tailor your surfing experience to every wave and condition. Giving you a more of a one board quiver which can handle larger surf whereas the Rv Hybrid is a mix between a groveller, mid length and a hybrid daily driver. Blending attributes from a few of Maurice Cole's models, the Hybrid model is a user-friendly mid length that can hold its own in bigger, chunky surf as well as matching small wave grovellers when the waves are weaker.

Will it go as a thruster??

It can be ridden as a thruster and performs well as one too! Just put in a smaller single fin and it'll be fine.
