ABOUT THIS EPISODE: Hamilton Perkins is a hard working designer and entrepreneur who has built his successful business from scratch. Well, not quite from scratch, because the whole time he's been focused on reusing materials. Designing his bags and accessories around repurposed materials like vinyl billboards and fabrics made from recycled plastics. And because of the materials he uses, the products in the Hamilton Perkins Collection are totally one-of-a-kind.
Hamilton is one of our inspirations because he’s shown what the combination of good ideas, hard work and commitment to scalable reuse can accomplish. Not only is he the lead designer for his growing line of products, he’s also the face of the company on social media and the chief sales person to boot. And if that’s not enough, he takes a hands on approach, overseeing manufacturing operations in multiple locations across North America. Needless to say, this keeps him on the road quite a bit.
But he was willing to give us a few minutes recently to learn more about how he made this awesome business happen. And fill us in a little bit on what he’s got planned for the future. After getting to know Hamilton a little bit better, one thing is for sure - it’s his dedication to making a difference in the world that will make us a fan of his for a long time to come.
