Hey, It's kind of weird, I am 53 so I was around for all their albums, but I never really noticed them or was interested and I don't know why, then I started to realise how good they were a few years ago, next thing I heard Eddie died! was gutted, but they were great, I seen recently Sammy and the bass player (sorry can't remember his name) and Joe Satriani on guitar on the Howard Stern show and were amazing! I am kind of strange in the way I get to like old bands decades later lol

I can relate, there are many bands that I started listening to well after they started. I didn’t really start listening to Rush for instance until I was 18. And I’m from Canada. lol! A friend of mine introduced me to Rush and I was instantly a fan. It’s now one of my favourite all time bands. I get what you’re saying for sure.

Van Halen with Roth is Van Halen and made some kickin rockin music....otherwise it's just Van Hagar which to me just didn't have that raw hard rock kick....which I definitely preferred 😎

@@christopherdavis678 Once Roth was gone there was zero danger, aggression, or excitement left in Van Halen. :(

@white.lodge.dale.cooper You nailed it! With Sammy it was just like ya some of the songs are good but nothing grabbed me and that raw definitive sound they had with Roth was gone! It honestly sounded over produced in alot of ways! Give me Ain't Talking bout Love, Unchained, On Fire, And the Cradle Will Rock, Panama (I could go on and on but to many to list) over anything on 5150, OU812 etc. When i hear the guitar riffs on a song like Hot for Teacher I'm like ya thats Van Halen as opposed to Fiinish What You Started it just sounds like a Hagar song featuring Van Halen 😎
