Ironically, Hades is a pretty chill guy in mythology. He gave Orpheus a chance to see his lover again but the idiot didn’t listen to his warning to not look back. The only two people he tortured were trying to kidnapped his wife. Speaking of his wife Persephone, the two are one of the few god that actually have a stable relationship and don’t cheat on each other. Hades treated her as equal by making her queen of the underworld and also allowing her to visit her mother, Demeter. Heck, he even helped Hercules by letting him borrow Cerberus as long as Hercules doesn’t use any force on it. Zeus is more of a villain. Not only did he cheated on Hera multiple times by forcing himself upon unwilling mortal women or goddess. He created Pandora to unleash disaster upon humanity on purpose because he was still salty about what Prometheus did to him.He also YEET-ed his son, Hephaestus, off Mount Olympus because he was too ugly.
Also you forgot to mention that when the war against the titans was over and the gods were divining up world and the realms of the sky, the sea, and the underworld, Hades was suppose to get the best realm (the sky) as the realms were inherited by their father Cronus, and as Hades was the eldest son and eldest son was be given the best inheritance. However since Zeus freed his siblings from his father and made it possible for Cronus to be defeated, it was made into a wash. So they decided to settle it in a game of chance by drawing straws. Unfortunately for Hades, his brothers, ridged the game against him (at least in one iteration they did) and he ended up getting the shortest straw.
@@KetaceanKyle Yup, Zeus rigged the game and Poseidon and Hades have been pissed ever sense. Doesn't help that Zeus isn't any better than his father and is a complete tyrant getting pissed when people wrong him but when he does something wrong he blames it on others. Plus to make sure non of his kids over throw him he had the brilliant idea to just not be a parent.
I still think of Frollo as the most evil because of his self image. The fact that he thought he was saintly while committing evil acts is unlike any deliberate evil like the final 2
Frolo was villainised by disney. But keep in mind, malformed children were killed back then as a kindness to both them and their parents. back when the medical stuff needed to help make sure they lived was either too expensive or non-existant instead of having the child suffer they were killed instead. Evil, but not as evil as one might think. Movie Frolo was still fairly evil but more self delusional than anything else. I expect he was one of the current inquisitions at that time (of which there were many occurring over the course of the centuries.)
@@Metalchemist2 hum. A priest who tried to kill a baby after chasing his parents and eventually killed them showing no kind of remorse after it. Casually destroy villagers home in a search for a girl that doesnt want him ( you are a priest!!!) And actually burn a whole village to it. Eventually trying to hang Esmeralda not because she was really a witch but only because his feelings got hurt that she refuses to be his. I didnt notice any other villains as cruel as him. Oh dont forget brainwashing Quasimodo multiple times, AFTER TRYING TO DROWN HIM 😳.
@@saklee1777Definitely. Being a Christian myself, Frollo scares me, because there are religious leaders out there who claim to be soldiers of God, but are really using their power for their own gain, in other words doing the devil’s work.
You say at the time like Mulan specifies what time period it was when it really doesn't, China had it's golden ages but it wasn't always this prosperous nation as you make it out to be.
@UCNxzvgJpxYgxId7rTSSFekQ You do realize in the movie the invasion takes place by the huns right? Not the mongols 🤦 not to mention that the Great wall of China appears there completely built but if this was during the time period where the mongols invaded it wouldn't be built yet. The Mulan time period is all over the place, so no it doesn't represent the Song dynasty.
True. And that.is.SCARY. And if ANY of these villains were real... I’d be so terrified of them. Frollo scares me. Jafar scares me. Hans scares me. Gaston too. Scar, and Shere Khan and Kaa. Dr. Facilier And more.
Frollo quite literally wanted to commit genocide just because he thinks a girl is a demon when he began to have lustful feelings for her. Yeah he did more evil things in the movie but this is so realistic and can easily be seen today.
Disney has one movie where they don't put it out on display anymore nor want to be involved in the movie. Apparently the little mermaid saved disney (i watched a video about this) but the movie was called The Black Cauldron. And ppl said the Horned king was the most scariest looking Villan and the most PURE evil Villan out of all the characters. They even had to cut out scenes because the way he tortured his slaves was way beyond disturbing.
tbh I think you really underrated the Queen of Hearts. The mere fact that she will cut the heads off of her subjects for the pettiest reasons should put her in at least the top 15 or so.
Oh god yes! I played her in a play once, and OH MY GOD. I couldn’t be wicked enough. I just resorted to screaming all her lines and throwing things everywhere.
Id honestly put mother gothel higher on the list just because shes one of the most reallstic villains in my opinion. Ive seen people say that the signs of abuse she showed helped them recognize the abuse they suffer through in their own lives
Sorry, but I think genocidal maniacs, murderers, slavers deserve their spots much more than her at the end she is just abuser of one person not even close to the worst of Disney villians.
From her perspective to make the illegitimate children and mistresses of Zeus as miserable as possible because she cannot do any harm to her husband herself.
Another thing about the coachman is, unlike almost all the other Disney villains, he never gets what he deserves. He was never stopped, and is quite possibly still slaving children well after the movie
I would love to have seen a bit near the end where the townspeople find out he turned their boys into donkeys for the slave trade, seize him and burn him at the stake. Or even better, impaled on a stake going right through him (going into his arse hole and coming out of his mouth) then set ablaze.
I'm suprised Monstro didn't even get an honorable mention. He's a gigantic, ship-eating, tenacious and voracious whale with a mean-streak that would make Moby Dick, Mocha Dick, and the whale that sank the Essex all pale in comparison to.
@@Barrel550 Now you listen to me, young man. Llamas are wonderful, okay? We love and respect llamas in the world of Disney. Same goes for feral men, elephants, crabs, and warthogs.
I think Edgar isn’t that evil, he could’ve been much worse, he could have killed the cats or poisoned them. Instead he turned to a non violent approach. And let’s be honest, anyone would be pissed if someone you’ve worked for for years decided to give everything to the cats that you take care of.
@diamonddawg12 Aunt Sarah is a nicer person than Edgar. Edgar tried to abandon a family of cats in the wilderness. Aunt Sarah just had a dislike for dogs, also she thought the world of Jim Jr. and was very protective of him.
@@SteveLundgren-i2y Sarah's fate was perhaps the most satisfying "villain" fate... she was turned into a friend. At the end of the movie, it's revealed that she sent the family a box of dog biscuits for Christmas. Maybe she's still a cat person at heart, spoiling Si and Am rotten... but she's come to appreciate dogs, too.
@@oddish4352 The dog biscuits she sent as a Christmas present was an apology. She warmed up to Lady and Tramp when she discovered the dead rat in the baby's room.

The Beast didn't kidnapped Belle. He held Maurice as prisoner for trespassing and being stared at by his appearance. Belle was the one who offered to take his place as prisoner and Beast was stunned by that noble sacrifice. The first act of kindness (sort of) was allowing Belle to stay at the East Wing rather then the dungeon. Belle has no Stockholm Syndrome, she's just a strong willed and brave woman who helped Beast changed his way.
Not only that, Stockholm needs prolonged exposure to the person abd complete absence of other people, she was followed by a bunch of servents to talk to and bearly had any enteraction with the beast till they realy sat down and talked with other around

@@fauesushii1148 Probably even earlier. Pretty sure the "Huns" in Mulan are meant to be the Xiongnu, who repeatedly quarreled with [and occasionally married into] the Han Dynasty, which would mean Shan Yu would have conceivably been a contemporary of such people as Julius Caesar. Also, kudos to Disney for having his reaction to women fighting him be rather indifferent, as both the Xiongnu and their descendants, the Huns [who would invade the late Roman Empire several centuries later], utilized both men and women in their armies.
My favorite villain is Frollo he doesn't know that he's evil he's relatable his song hellfire combines the seven deadly sins and dies in a fire the symbol of hell he believes he is a man of God he is a villian that scares me because he's the most realistic villain
Mine is captain hook because I don't think he's truly evil, just trying to get revenge he deserves to receive. captain hook not only lost his hand but ever wonder why the croc has a clock in it? Captain Hook put it there so he can know where it is, he lives in constant fear for his life because Peter gave the croc that first taste. Hook is just trying to end Peter's life as payback for Peter ruining the rest of his.
Honestly I think he kinda knows he is evil (for me, the line "mea culpa... " represents his inner voice) but still, that's only from that point in the film. Still relatable af
@@strawberrysoulforever8336 Yea it's interesting that in those early Disney princess films, the evil Villains had more development and character than the princesses, lmao.
Ratigan is criminally underrated on this list. He's essentially a personification of pure evil. As his lackeys say in his villain song, "you're more evil than even you!" This means that Ratigan is INFINITELY evil. As evil as he gets, he's still MORE evil than that. Which makes him more evil than that, which makes him more evil than that, and so on. He's an infinite recursion of evilness with that one line alone.
YES! I loved that movie as a child! And when I asked ppl abt it(because I like talking abt movies, books etc.) And I was like:,, WHAT... Nobody knows abt it?" Yeah, the movie deserves more! I love Jim💯
@@joshuaagee-bass4049 and not being invited to a huge event if you have a lot of political power in the area is basically like a middle finger at the time the story takes place
How is Clayton so low down? I'd say he's definetly above Gaston in terms of evil, considering he imprisoned people and tried to murder Tarzan. And the murder of gorillas shouldn't be considered any less evil either, considering they're basically people also. Gaston was a total douche who went a little crazy at the end, but as far as he's concerned the beast is just a monster, and not a person - which could be somewhat understandable as he's never seen the beast's humanity before.
Dude where tf is Captain Radcliffe from Pocahontas!?! -He legit wanted to genocide Pocahontas's tribe, -waged a war to justify his greed and obsession with power, -said no to peace even after being offered, -was willing to publicly hang anyone that stood up to him, -and shot John Smith (with the intention of killing the chief) -Oh and the reality was actually faaaar worse than the movie. *WHY IS POCAHONTAS SO FRIGGIN UNDERRATED. LIKE BRUH-*
In my opinion frollo is the most evil, he really burned the whole Paris for Esmeralda, and he also had "unholy thoughts" (just like he says it in the cathedral) about Esmeralda. And as in the video he killed quasimodo's mother, and he is very cruel.
I agree with a lot of the list, however I disagree with Claude Frollo's spot. I think he should be number one for attempting a genocide of gypsies in Paris toward the end of the film, but despite that he is just vile and cruel.
Yeah I agree I always thought he was the worse he was a guy who thought he’s actions were justified and right... he would have burned down all of France if he had to and he almost did.. not only that but he would have killed Quasimodo as a baby but he only stopped because he feared he would go to hell not because he knew killing a child was wrong... him murdered, lied, manipulated, and abused just to try and get what he wanted all while thinking he was the good guy
BELL DID NOT HAVE STOCKHOLM SYNDROME! She was not in love with her abuser. From the very beginning, she refused to so much as have dinner with the Beast unless he was nice to her. Every time he lost his temper, she would shut herself away or get mad at him. She even fled and was saved by the Beast when he fought off wolves and she went back to repay him for his kind deed. THAT is when they started falling in love. She did not even start caring about him until he learnt to control his temper and she left to see her father again. I know that she went back for The Beast later on but honestly, if Gaston was not currently trying to murder him, Belle probably would've honestly stayed with her father. Belle's going back to the Beast each time is a result of her kind nature and overall character, NOT because of Stockholm Syndrome.
FINALLY! I'm sick of people talking about stockholm syndrome and beastiality when it comes to this movie. The point is she saw him for who he truly was. He was a monster, but deeply inside he was the opposite. A kind hearted, unselfish person who is just hurt and is hurting others because of that and once he learns to be selfless she falls in love with him.
I still think Frollo is pretty high up there because he basically wanted to burn all of Paris for one gypsy woman. He convinced himself he's better than anyone else and when he was confronted with his wickedness he ignored all chances for his redemption. He was a man of the cloth but was worse than your average person. I mean he killed an innocent woman and locked up her child and manipulated him. To me that's more evil because its the kind of evil that we see in everyday life.
This is exactly why Toy Story 5 should be a thing... so it could be about Sid not only saving toys by giving them homes (take that, Toy Story 4!) and giving them a home, but formerly or currently having faced his fear towards the fact that they come to life!
My favorite thing about Yzma is this running gag. Yzma: “Pull the lever Kronk!” (Kronk pulls lever) Yzma: “WRONG LEVER!!!!!!” 😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😅😅😅😅 Gets me every goddamn time. 😁
Honestly, The Queen Of Hearts isn't that scary or intimidating when compared to other Disney Villains, especially since Wonderland was all just a dream Alice had.
Belle did not have Stockholm Syndrome. She didn't start to even like the Beast until he started to change himself for the better, only once he was willing to let her go and she saw how much she truly cared for him as a friend did she fall in love with him.

@@gursella66 Oh, they do. PETA kills more than just dogs though, not just a single dog breed. Ironically enough, I think Cruella would actually hate PETA for making all those "precious furs" go to waste.
One thing you forgot too mention about Gaston. He tried too kill Beast while Beast isn’t even fighting back and then when Beast turns the tables he begs for mercy and the Beast grants it to him then sneaks up behind Beast in true coward fashion and literally stabs him in the back to show his gratitude for Beast’s act of compassion!
Sad to see my man commander Rourke not on this list, dude was willing to let an entire civilization die in order to sell their life force to the highest bidder. Everyone forgets atlantis, and that's a crying shame.
The bone I do not see picked enough is that in the time period Sleeping Beauty is set in.... Not inviting someone of Melefecent's power, regardless of if you like them or not, was EXTREMELY rude. Like... basically telling the powerful magic user that she is garbage. They clearly knew she existed, and her they existed, even knew that they had a baby in the first place. She does not seem to have run around throwing curses on everyone and everything throughout the region, and this does seem to be the first time she was openly antagonistic towards the kingdoms. Not saying that she is not sadistic and taking her retribution too far. But it's a lot more than just "not being invited to a cool party".
Snubbing someone of her status is like snubbing a lord of a powerful region. That's just asking for war. Taking the life of one young girl was going easy considering Maleficent can turn into a literal dragon and raze the town to ashes. Plus her army of demons as her call. Wow King Stefan got off easy.
@@KhanMann66 True, but I do have to draw a bit of a line at "I'm going to hold Prince Philip in my dungeons until the brink of death, then release him to awaken the sleeping princes so he'll die right after" bit. Scar should've been classed as number 1 in the entire Disney Villains saga in my opinion like come on, this evil uncle not only killed his brother (Simba's father Mufassa), but he also attempted to kill Simba but failed and when Simba returned years later, Scar tried to pin the whole blame on his goonies to which they all rightfully turned against Scar towards the end. Scar was the prime example of if someone could be capable of murdering their own family member without any hesitation then they are the most evil of all evil

It’s interesting how characters like the Horned King and Chernabog are evil incarnate, yet characters like Frollo can be viewed as worse. I guess you expect a demon to be evil, but when it’s a human, it seems so much more wrong.
The Horned king was actually the most disturbing villan to the point he almost ruined disney and the little mermaid saved Disney. They removed anything that has to do with the movie from all sorts of merchandise. An hour of the movie had to be removed b4 even released in theaters, then more scenes got deleted because the deaths were very graphic for kids. The black Cauldron is known as a banned Disney movie
Just read the Bible, humanity literally can't stop itself from being evil without intervention. God is Lawful Good, absolutely everything else is Chaotic Evil, nothing in between. Who needs Satan? We do fine on our own.
I think its because Chernabog and the Horned King revel in their evil, while Frollo thinks he's one of the good guys. He genuinely believes what he is doing is both right and just.
It really says something about disney villains when someone who kidnapped a baby and lied to her her whole life and used her isn’t even top 20 most evil
The most evil is Mickey because he created everyone on the list Edit: Holy cow this is the most likes I have ever gotten! Thank you! Edit 2: why did everyone decide to keep it at 666?
Gosh I feel like if Frollo, Maleficent, Chernabog, and Ursula worked together and faced the heroes of Disney, it would be so iconic. Just a thought lol
Live Action Maleficent: Has a man she has known since they were little betray her and rip off her wings and curses his child to die some day, but still looks after and cares for her Original Maleficent: _curses a child to inevitably die some day because she wasn't invited to her christening_
In all fairness, she was literally the only person in the kingdom who wasn't invited. The king and queen were petty first, though I know cursing their child was a very low blow
The Shadow Man was willing to bargain the souls of several people to achieve his goals. Remember that you're just rating evilness, not popularity or success in one's plans or how easily they were defeated or intelligence. He should have been placed higher on the list.
This list made me realize how many freaking Disney movies I have watched and then forever forgot, I was watching this and thought who the hell is this and then I realized I had seen that movie when I was 6 or something like that
@Sura Abuserdaneh Very true. Ones I missed when I was younger were The Great Mouse Detective and (though it did come out later) The Princess and the Frog, and I find those enjoyable today.
I know you briefly mentioned the Beast as "kidnapping Belle til she had stockholm syndrome", but I strongly disagree with you on that. For starters, he never truly kidnapped Belle, she offered herself as a trade for her father. Second, Belle and the Beast were both outcasts in their own way. In the time Belle spent with Beast, they both started to see that very fact and how they weren't so different from one another. This in turn developed a relationship between the two. This is why the Beast is so heartbroken when Belle is released and doesn't put up a fight at first when Gastone confronts him, because he believes he has nothing left to live for. When Belle returns, he sees that he does have a reason to live, that reason being her, and he fights back. Belle and Beast's story then ends with a true "happily ever after." That's why the song of the film is "A tale as old as Time", because if you really look at the details of the story, that how most love stories work. "I'm like you and you're like me, let's get to know each other more."
red queen: *rules a kingdom with violence and fear having many loose their head* wicked: she's not that bad yzma: *is a bad leader but is also trying to replace a bad leader (i mean kuzko was no saint at the beginning of the movie)* wicked: evil.
I'm glad you included The Horned King on the list, but you missed countless disney villains such as Ratcliffe, Mcleach, Dor 15 Kazar, the Rat, Man, Shere Khan, The Fire Bird, Denhai, Te Ka, Stromboli, John Silver, Scroop, Rourke, Alameda Slim, Captain Gantu, Si and Am, Amos Slade, Willie the Giant, Brom Bones, The Headless Horseman, Mr Winkie and the villain from Chicken Little
Ratigan is one of the most evil. Most other characters don’t kill their henchman immediately as they mess up. And also one of the songs literally says he drowns widows and orphans. Idk any other villain doing that.
And apparently the "Tower Bridge Job" crime he committed was pushing dozens of citizens off the London Bridge and shooting whoever swims up to the surface of the water.
What kind of psychopath would you have to be to boil a dog to make a coat? It would just ruin the skin and fur and make a huge mess out of everything. Enormously wasteful
You forgot mentioning Ratigan kidnapped a toymaker, his child and drowned widows and orphans. Also, he didn't intend to rule through the robot queen, he used her to hand power over to him so he could be king. Great list tho. The placements are all pretty good.
Some characters are missing on this list, but for me the most despicable of them is Rourke, from Atlantis, who was willing to destroy an ancient civilization just for money and, as Milo said, to sell the Atlantis source of power to Germany's kaiser (so Milo is basically implying that Rourke just wants money no matter what is the cost in lives). He also "killed" Kida's father. I don't think he would be at the top of this list, but he'd sure be highly ranked. PD: Hands up for Atlantis, one of the most underrated animation films ever.
Thing is, there's plenty of villains that weren't mentioned too. I brought up OTTO, Charles Muntz, Syndrome, Shere Khan, Gantu, Roarke, and Randall or Waternoose. I agree with Chernabog being ranked evilest, but come on, Syndrome's gotta be pretty close to the bottom. Killed off every Super that could stop him just so he could pretend to be a super, and then completely take away what makes superheroes special after he's had his fun. All because he was rightfully told off for endangering himself and others because of his recklessness.
It seems people forgot that in the short intro for Disney's "50 years of magic", Chernobog was about to burn the theater down but then Micheal Eisner told him not to and he just stopped and left. Basically, an evil god thats the equivalent of Satan is just an underling to the evil masterminds behind Disney
i think the main problem with the movie was the voice acting. it just didn't feel believable because every character sounded almost like TTS. additionally i never really understood some of the decisions the protagonists made. it just took me out of the movie.
Actually Maleficent plan falls pretty heavily in line with most fay creatures. Fey's anger was something you don't want to endure. When you piss them off they find forms of revenge one might consider over the top. But to the Fey, they think differently than humans. Your first born child seems fair enough for ignoring them. Same goes for their deals, their form of fair and your form of fair are very different.
Here's somebody that kills at least 100 people daily, Queen of Hearts. Now more evil is someone that once considered killing one person to save a bunch of people, the Duke of Wessleton.
@@DarthVader-il2cy I think he's basing some of this on popularity, success, intelligence, and how easily they are defeated instead of just their level of evilness as he's claiming.

Someone how is truly evil is someone who truly believes that they are doing the right thing and has no remorse because they believe that they have done nothing wrong. Now that is the scariest type of evil.
@@minecafterhd2499 Almost. Somewhere deep down in that man lays some remorse. You can see this when he kills Quasimodo's mom and becomes fearful of "the eyes of Notre Dame" as they "watched" him kill an innocent woman. Thus showing somewhere in that black heart, he knows that he's doing something evil. A truly evil person would have not cared what "the eyes of Notre Dame" would have thought, and would have argued that the "eyes" would have wanted Quasimodo's mom dead.
easy cause right and wrong are subjective. real evil is thinking you're righteous so punishing someone for what you consider wrong for the morale principle, not for breaking a law or agreement.
“I know it might be a surprise to see a cute little Care-Bear ranked as more evil than our previous dictator.” No, it’s surprising he’s that low on the list.
Intimidation, emotional manipulation, BRAINWASHING, attempted murder and, given what information we're given, SUCCESSFUL murder (or at least intentionally leading others to their deaths).
I mean... a giant ass demon representing Satan himself is clearly.more evil. This guy literally detests God and all his creations, Frollo this his obeying God
Solem Vow see that’s the thing. Frollo isn’t obeying God. As is showcased a number of times, he really doesn’t care about the church, and he’s certainly not concerned with inner morality. He’s literally everything that is opposed to Christian teachings, while claiming to be the representative of Christianity. He claims a moral authority that he only has because of his political authority, and he abuses both just so he can have his personal ambitions fulfilled. It may not be worse than the devil himself, but it’s pretty close to equal.

As for the Maleficent one, they were practically inviting everyone in the kingdom EXCEPT her, she felt left out and insulted, given how it takes place in Medieval Times, Royal Christenings were a public event, and since Maleficent is a Fae, she cannot be insulted nor harmed, so not inviting another leader was basically a middle finger and the king trampled over her feelings by not inviting her to the christening. Ie, the king screwed up big time by not inviting Fae and inviting everyone else instead. {31:20}
Chad Peterson And I agree with them, this movie could’ve been a lesson on don’t go off assumptions or be biased. @@chadpeterson5698 I agree, that's why I would've scored him low. I just always liked his personality and demeanor. He's a predator who didn't want mankind anywhere near his habitat, for fear of fire and the very threat to his own existence. I kinda get it, lol.

Hades the Evil wisecracking fast-talking smooth deal making hot tempered Lord of the Underworld Dead/Villainous Gloom from the Tomb Brother of Zeus is probably the best and really awesome too especially when he's voiced by the same guy who did the Falcon from Stuart Little 2 Mr James Howard Woods who said so himself Hades is his favourite character to play as or voice and would gladly return to the role whenever he's needed.
Actually Hera is the one how yeeted her son off but Zeus still get shity parenting points for letting it happen
That is the best comment I have ever seen!!!
To many people seem to mistake Hades in modern media for the devil.

Frolo was villainised by disney. But keep in mind, malformed children were killed back then as a kindness to both them and their parents. back when the medical stuff needed to help make sure they lived was either too expensive or non-existant instead of having the child suffer they were killed instead. Eat Your Oatmeal Atlantis was such an awesome movie! We loved the heck out of it as kids.
And at least she isn't racist or sexist
Snubbing someone of her status is like snubbing a lord of a powerful region. That's just asking for war. Taking the life of one young girl was going easy considering Maleficent can turn into a literal dragon and raze the town to ashes. Plus her army of demons as her call. Wow King Stefan got off easy.

I guess that makes sense cause you expect demons to be evil but not humans especially people who claim to be good people.
But B I L L C I P H E R
Just read the Bible, humanity literally can't stop itself from being evil without intervention. God is Lawful Good, absolutely everything else is Chaotic Evil, nothing in between. Who needs Satan? We do fine on our own.

As for the Maleficent one, they were practically inviting everyone in the kingdom EXCEPT her, she felt left out and insulted, given how it takes place in Medieval Times, Royal Christenings were a public event, and since Maleficent is a Fae, she cannot be insulted nor harmed, so not inviting another leader was basically a middle finger and the king trampled over her feelings by not inviting her to the christening.
