You missed someone in the grey area; Mulan's mother Lin. She wanted what she thought was best for her daughter, but she was also a product of her time and expected her child to follow suit. She was scared when she found out Mulan ran away, but didn't stand up for her when her father was scolding her before. In the end she was just kinda...meh.
I feel like she didn't stand up to her husband bcs yknow, back in the day women wasn't acknowledged and so basically girls were seen helpless and weren't allowed to have an opinion (I mean maybe). Maybe because of that she was grown to that certain mindset and agreed to her husband to going to war or she like, respected his choice of diving in there. Plus seeing how Mulan was a girl the only thing she could think of to profit her or provide her was to ensure she was married into a good family, knowing that Mulan (in the animated story) was the only daughter. I'm kinda sleepy so I'm not going to go anywhere further lmao. Tho I agree she should be in the video, but just saying maybe her actions of supporting her daughter was kinda limited suiting the situation, her place as a female character, and how she was probably raised :v
I think she truly loved her daughter and wanted her to be happy, but because of the era she thought the way to happiness was for Mulan to get married. I think Grandmother Fa was a better role model. While eccentric she did do anything that she thought would help Mulan, including giving her Cri-kee who would later play a role that would not only guide her to happiness but help save her life. Then she was the one who prayed to the ancestors for help that resulted in Mushu going to help Mulan, after a debacle. Grandmother even believed in Mulan and wasn’t that disappointed in her after the fiasco with the Matchmaker like her own parents were. She even insulted the matchmaker. I believe Grandmother Fa is such an underrated character.
Another one for the Grey Area would be the mother to Anna and Elsa from Frozen. She along with her father kept Anna and Elsa separate until adulthood in an attempt to keep Elsa from harming anyone.
Additionally, there’s quite a few that were missing: Koda’s mom: Even though she didn’t speak (outside of a minor flashback shown through Koda’s perspective). She was willing to do anything possible to keep Koda away from Kenai. Calhoun - This might be questionable. In the second film, she decided (with the help of Felix) to help out with the rest of the Sugar Rush racers while Vanellope and Ralph were elsewhere trying to save Sugar Rush. During this, Calhoun keeps them safe Aunt Cass - Sure, this shouldn’t count, but with Hiro and Tadashi, she understands that Hiro is a very talented person who wants to continue doing what Tadashi was remembered for. Coral - Coral wasn’t there for a good percentage of the film, but, I have to be honest, letting herself in front the barracuda to save Marlin and Nemo is pretty much honorable Jenny - When Dory was far away from her. She was doing anything possible to find and reunite herself with Dory, even after the many years of separation. Additionally, she was very helpful with giving Dory plenty of advice, that would help her later on. Elastigirl - odd choice, but she does a lot of great things, even in the most stressful things, she always does anything that provides help. This is more noticeable in Incredibles 2, where she decides to accept the task given by Winston, and makes sure that she doesn’t fail to bring the rest of her family back.
No offense but Quasimodo's mother should have gotten the gold medal of best mother she did everything she could protect Quasimodo from Judge Claude frollo it even cost her her life
She was barely onscreen and Kala nearly died trying to protect Tarzan from Sabor, than also Bambi's mom sacrificed her life to ensure Bambi made it home safely. We also see how they both actually raised their children but we did not with Quasimodo' s mom.
His mother should’ve made the list, but she wouldn’t rank very high in the Good section simply because of her lack of screentime. She’d honestly rank slightly lower since she never had the chance to actually raise her son
still doesn't beat kala for one reason: lack of screen time. kala also risked her life to save tarzan and was also willing to risk her life in the failed attempt to save her biological kid
They really should have included nani. She goes the extra mile to make sure lilo not only has a place to live, and food to eat but she also goes out of her way to make sure lilo still stays childish. She could have stopped lilo from feeding that fish peanut butter sandwiches in the beginning (or was it tuna?) But insted of that she let's her sister be a kid. When she gets fired from her job insted of making lilo worry or blaming stitch (I'm pretty sure he was the reason she was fired) she tells lilo that her boss was a vampire. Heck even when lilo wants to get a pet she let's her choose stitch, even though the lady at the pound said otherwise. Nani may not be Lilo's mom but she certainly made the list of being a good mother because she went the extra mile for Lilo even though she never really had to
I personally don't think Nani would have fit into the "motherly" approach. In the beginning of the movie before Stitch arrives, Lilo mentions "I like you better as a sister than a mom." Nani, although she's trying to take over the motherly type, she's still young and doesn't necessarily know what she's doing, so that older sister vibe is still there.
I was hoping to see some other moms in my opinion who're also good: -Koda's mom from brother bear -Perdita from 101 *dalmatians* (corrected) -Jumbo's mom from Dumbo -Nala from The Lion King -Queen Elinor from brave -Queen Iduna from Frozen -Quasimodo's mom from The Hunchback of Notre-Dame -Imelda from Coco -Duchess from The Aristocats -Widow tweed from The fox and the hound -Nemo's mom from Finding Nemo and all the other Disney mom's I've forgotten, but I do 100 percent agree with your list though
some others . . . esmeralda becomes a mom in hunchback of notre dame 2 kida’s mom from atlantis penny’s mom from bolt laurel lightfoot from onward(i know the movie was made after this video came out but still) lady from lady and the tramp queen narissa from enchanted
you should have included rapunzels biological mother, even though she had minimal screen time she did a lot for her. she sent guards to search for a cure to whatever sickness she had, had soldiers sent to search for rapunzel for many years, had memoirs of her all over the kingdom, and sent out lanterns every year in memory of rapunzel.
Arianna is definitely a good mom. She gets plenty of character development and ultimately provides the encouragement Rapunzel needs to defeat the series big bad.
AtarahDerek Heck, ZT could’ve made the list if the sequels&prequels and the Series got used for various entries. Zhan Tiri basically manipulates Cass’s mommy issues and “gives” or withholds that affirmation Cass desperately wants from a parental figure
Not to mention she did struggle a little with trying to bond with her, even when Willow appears on her birthday kept trying to hold her frustration in that she wanted to spend her birthday with just her daughter and Willow kept interfering. But also in the ending despite Rapunzel isn’t blonde anymore could easily tell she was truly her own child 😭
I feel like it doesn’t matter as much how little (albeit not too little that characters don’t even feel like they are even there… or maybe they ARE there just to be that) screen time the characters (re: Rapunzel’s parents/Eugene Firzherbert’s parents-in-law as likely opposed to his own parents who are probably continuous thieves) get as much as what greatnesses they do for the people they love which really shows when they can do a lot with so little exposure. It makes them feel more mysterious they really are, but also secretly doing very favourable things for the people they want to be friends with. Kinda like Rosalina in Mario (let alone Super Mario Galaxy 1).
Okay, so Andy's mum and Queen Elinor and Queen Iduna and Rapunzel's actual mum and Esmeralda and Quasimodo's mum and Hera and Mulan's mum and Perdita and Lady and Darling and Kanga and the Rabbit mum from Robin Hood and Duchess and Mowgli's wolf mum and Penny's mum and Mrs Potts are all a joke to you?
I haven't finished watching, but REALLY? She was a lovely mother, not caring that her son was born with big ears and loving and taking care of him just the same, being locked up just for defending him from the children who were horrible to him. Even then, she did her best to let him know that she still loved him. And at the end, they were reunited.
Thanks so much for finally including the underrated Disney masterpiece that is Treasure Planet in a video like this. Sarah Hawkins is such a relatable single Disney mom who's husband and Jim's dad abandoned his family and never came back, which is something that we rarely see Disney do in their animated films and that's saying a lot. Not only did it devastate both her and especially her son so much, but it also became so hard for Sarah to run her business (and home), the BennBow Inn, smoothly due to the fact that she had to manage it all by herself. Of course Jim did help his mom out whenever she needed him the most, but he often gets into trouble with the law. So even Sarah couldn't be able to support her rebellious, angsty, and depressed teenage son because she was so busy all the time. Long story short, Jim returned to his mom, used the right amount of gold he needed that he had obtained from Silver in order to rebuild the inn with, attended the Royal Navy Academy that he was recommended by Captain Amelia for his heroic actions, and became an official member of the Royal Navy. Therefore, both him and especially Sarah are happy and Jim has finally become a mature and responsible adult all thanks to the help and guidance of Silver. Jim didn't go on the voyage to TP just for himself. In fact, he did it for his mom. She was the motivation and sole reason why he went on the expedition in the first place. Sarah wanted her only son to have a bright and successful future and not to be wasted away. And he fulfilled his mom's wish because he loved and cared about her so much. He wanted to make her happy and he did make her happy. That's ones of the many, many reasons why Treasure Planet is the best and most underappreciated Disney animated film of all time.
Who else got kinda mad when they forgot Iduna, Elsa and Anna's mom. Like boi! Iduna had arguably one of the biggest inpacts in Elsa's life and also a big reason why Elsa has trust issues and trouble showing affection to Anna.
Ed Ra She’s arguably a maternal figure to Ariel during her brief interactions. I was hoping that would’ve been expanded on more with Flotsam and Jetsam as an aside as proof she’s capable of genuine affection when she bothers (sorta like Morgana’s cameo)
And it wasn’t Ursula‘s fault that she destroyed her own pets, Ariel grab Ursula by the hair which made her and hit Flotsam & Jetsam instead of Prince Eric. Ursula: Babies! My poor little poopsies! (growls in anger) You’re going to pay for this you little brat mermaid!
I feel like Gothel is worse than Zira. Based on Zira’s reaction to her son’s death, I’d like to assume that, while she was abusive, the abuse was unintentional. Gothel’s abuse onto Rapunzel is completely intentional. Also, I think the Evil Queen should be at the bottom of the list, because, unlike the others, she has no motherly traits whatsoever. She’s not a mother to Snow White at all and the only reason she qualifies as a Disney Mother is because she’s legally Snow White’s step-mother.
Nah. Zira never gave Nuka a chance and snarled at him. Nuka was literally meant to be the stupid/failure version of Scar. Yes she does mourn when he is crushed in a log jam in an attempt to prove himself, but that doesn’t change how she treated Vitani, literally threatening to kill her when she refused to keep fighting, realizing her mother would never see her as a daughter, only a soldier for a dead lion. Not to mention when Kiara even tried saving her from falling into a river, Zira swiped at her which caused her to lose her grasp, in other words her choice to keep fighting killed her. Not to mention Zira was ready to kill her ex champion warrior when he stood up to her. Gothel is as bad yes. I feel Cassandra was made to prove Gothel did not actually love Rapunzel, even a little, just her hair. And she in the end chose to stop her façade when Raps caught on about her lies. But imo Zira was so brutal to the point she was willing to kill her own nephew and second niece, while Scar would never return because he was obviously dead
The gold medalist is a definite fit. I don't think there is any other mother in the Disney Universe who helped their child discover who and what he is even to the realization that she may never see him again. She knew what her son could have decided to do and yet she did what she had to do anyway. A close second I could think of is Alcmene, Hercules's adoptive Earth mother (who in the original myth was His biological mother by the way), but the "losing her son" part was a possibility that was just not as DEFINITE as The Gold Medalist.
Peak Disney mom for me is Wendy Darling in the Peter Pan sequel. Her dedication to her children having a "normal childhood" and trying to shield them from the horrors of war with tales of hope and adventure is really amazing. Even when faced with total isolation in a war zone with her children being sent away, her focus is on making sure her children feel loved and will take care of each other. Great mom, 10/10
*Good:* - Sussie - Alan - Darwin - Penny - Molly - Idaho - Anton - Louie - Richard - Mr Corneille - Larry - Rocky - Mr Small - Juke - Principal Brown - Gary Hedges - Teri - Claire - Nurse *Grey:* - Sarah - Nicole - Anais - Leslie - Hot Dog Guy - Doughnut Sheriff - Carmen - Granny Jojo - Carrie - Penny's Dad - Banana Joe - Gumball - The Eggheads - Masami - Billy Parham - Marvin - Tobias - Hector - Bobert - Hector's Mom *Bad:* - Coach - Felicity Parham - Tina Rex - Mrs Simian - William - Nicole's Mom - Jamie - Tobias' Dad - Ocho - Clayton - Nicole's Dad - Frankie - Julius (the bomb-headed bully) - Sal Left Thumb - Rob - Mr Robinson - Mrs Robinson Feel free to disagree with me
You definitely should have included Duchess. She takes care of her three kittens with so much love and when Thomas O‘Malley wants to take her with him she refuses to leave her kitten behind. Also she teaches them good manners and deals with the siblings arguments in a very sweet way. Also Dumbos mother is deeply missed here since she tries to protect her baby with everything she has.
Will you do one for Father's Day too? I want to hear your commentary on King Triton. He's subtly the most well-written character in the first Little Mermaid movie.
You forgot about these moms! - Hera (Hercules) - Dumbo’s Mom (Dumbo) - Duchess (The Aristocats) - Nala (The Lion King franchise and mom of Kiara and Kion) - Lady (Lady and the Tramp franchise) - Perdita (101 Dalmatians franchise) - Rapunzel’s Biological Mom/Queen Arianna (Tangled franchise) - Herc’s Adopted Mom (Hercules) - Tarzan’s Biological Mom (Tarzan) - Raksha (The Jungle Book) - Elsa and Anna’s mom/Queen Induna (Frozen franchise) - Other Moms
Rick and Morty: Good to Evil Disenchantment: Good to Evil Solar Opposites: Good to Evil For 1upbinge Red Dead Redemption (1&2): Good to Evil GTA HD Universe: Good to Evil
The Evil queen deserves the gold medal of evil because she tried to kill her own stepdaughter just so she can be the fairest of them all! How selfish of her!
Queen Arianna should be right next to Sina on this list. She respects Rapunzel's autonomy, provides the advice that ultimately helps Raps beat the big bad of the series, and helps Raps learn to balance her free spirited nature with her duties as crown princess.
So glad my two favorite lionesses (Zira and Sarabi) made it into this list. But I'm curious to know where Nala, Queen Iduna, and Queen Elinor would fit in this.
Not sure where Elinor would fit, but I imagine Iduna would be around where Ursula was placed in the Gray Area because of the whole isolating Elsa thing. As for Nala, she can be placed with Sarabi.
Nala would be in the top Elinor would be in the grey area. She tore merida down and burnt her bow. Iduna would be good because she risked her life to discover the truth about Elsa. And in the sequel u see Anna and Elsa having 2 watch their parents die, revealing the truth 2 them
Take This F Nala supported kiaras choice in mate and helped to convince Simba to give Kovu a chance at the beginning and tried to stop him from being so overbearing. She was just a victim of no screen time in the second movie. 😕
Take This F I read the whole thing and although I agree they will have problems like any couple do, even more so because of their age, Kovus trauma from his younger years with Zira may not necessarily come out in aggression towards Kiara or their child, however it is a possibility. Personally I don’t really think this affects how good of a mother Nala is because it is shown that she cares deeply for kiara and only tries to do right by her. However I can respect how you might see it differently xx

nathan prins she trying to get back to her children for 10 - 11 years and she never gave up ! And she started small when she came back and got a great character developed of a mother
I think even though she had small screentime and an antagonist like image when you see her at the beginning Koda's mom should have gotten a spot somewhere in the top of this list seeing how during Koda's story near the end of the movie Kenai sees that the whole battle he had with Koda's mother was all so she could feed, protect and find her son. Then there was that final scene with her spirit coming down to hug Koda goodbye before returning to the spirit world was a beautifull scene of motherlly love that almost got me crying just thinking about it.
I always liked Melody better than Ariel. Granted, she is as rebellious, capricious and willful as Ariel, but her motives seem more natural for me. She's been kept from a part of herself her whole life and leaves in search for herself as well. Also Ursula was creepy and scary, making it hard to believe anyone would go to such lengths just for a person they saw once. Morgana is inviting, kind and empathetic towards Melody, and fairly wins her trust. It just seems more realistic to want something that is already part of you and help someone get something you thought was stolen from them, than risk everything to just see someone again who is potentially dangerous to you. Melody had been in the near sea her whole life, she was isolated and laughed at by her peers, she felt like an anomaly and only ever felt herself when she was with the sea creatures. I like her a lot
The Proud Dad is honestly pretty horrible, and Sugar Momma is Grey at best. Penny’s mom is honestly the MVP of the entire show, but she doesn’t get as much screentime as her husband and mother in law.
You probably will be doing the one with the Disney fathers right around Father's day? I mostly the Disney father's I had in mind would be Pongo from 101 Dalmatians, King Triton from The Little mermaid, the sultan from Aladdin, Mufasa from The Lion King and Zeus from Hercules are some to place on their.
You forgot about someone else! Timon's Mother supports her son through his search for a new home, and when she thinks he is in danger, she is willing to go above and beyond to find and protect him. Sure, she can be a bit aggressive about her methods to seek out her son when she thinks he is hurt or in danger, but she still cares for, and supports her son in a way that not even his uncle did(that is at all)!
Bambi's mothers death really made me sad. She was a good mum who protected her son I honestly wish she lived. Probably the saddest Disney mum death I've ever seen
You forgot Mrs. Jumbo from Dumbo. Her nurturing love for her son Dumbo is high up there among the good. She's like a shield to him when people teased him and it was heartbreaking when she was chained and caged and when they reunited, it was the most earful moments in Disney history.
When I rewatched Tangled, I was so shocked over how I could relate to Rapunzel so much during the scene where she was wondering whether or not to leave the tower because of how Mother Gothel would react. It just showed me how much my mom is is pretty similar to Mother Gothel
I wish Aunt Cass from Big Hero 6 was on this list as well. While not a mother per say she did everything she did everything she could to raise Hiro and Tadashi in their parents stead when they died for 10 years while running a business even giving up her own things to come and get them when they get tossed in jail due to Hiro's bot fighting and when Tadashi passes away she puts on a brave face for Hiro and even encourages him to go to school instead of just leaving him alone.
Zira did not love Kovu, she used him and practically disowned him for refusing to kill Simba. Scratching him in the face and blaming Nuka's death on him, she even shown no sympathy when Kovu ran away overcome with guilt.
@@jaxthewolf4572 Also Zira didn't care much for Nuka and Vitani either. She threatened to kill Vitani when she refuses to fight and she neglected and abused Nuka which lead to his death because all he wanted was her love, attention and approval so she flat out caused him to die. Even though she showed distress when Nuka died this doesn't redeem or mean she loved him as she flat out forgot and got over him in the climax. Right before she fell into the gorge with Kiara she said "This is for you Scar" no mention of Nuka or anything so it's obvious all she cares about and matters to her is Scar and avenging him rather then one of her own kids. Zira just saw her own children as objects and tools in her own selfish desires.
My own opinion about this, even if is Going to sound wrong or anything but I will try my best to explain my point , so I know that they both 3 have been treated pretty bad but I feel like kovu has been treated less harm than the rest of them because although her mom has been using him to kill simba. But she be giving food to his youngest son kovu so that he will be strong enough to be able to defeat simba .his mom be treated kovu special sometimes.remember that scene where his mom was singing lullaby or whatever that song called and kovu was just sleeping yea that explains it all. other than that zira never love kovu and her other kids as well she was just using them like objects. but will have to admit that kovu has been treated less harm while Nuka the oldest son has been treated way worse, and that’s why kovu looks way healthier then the other outlanders. Is just my own opinion comment if you don’t agree.
Honourable mentions in the Good List: Widow Tweed from The Fox & the Hound, she takes in Todd the Fox after hunters kill his mother, but the constant harassment from her prejudiced hunter neighbour Amos Slade forces her to leave him at the local game reserve. Mrs. Potts from Beauty & the Beast, the animated version of the movie shows that her son Chip is the youngest of several siblings. Although we are not told how many children she had, we do know she is a kind, caring mother who always finds time caring for her family as well as do her job in the Beast's palace.
@@PrincessMavenKittyDarkholme Abandoning your own son without a word to him not even looking back. How heartless you would have to be to do that to your own child.
You know, here’s something Rapunzel honestly should have said while Gothel was singing her song that could have had her whole plan blow up in her face: “you’re acting like I’d be going alone. Why don’t you just come with me?”
Kida’s mother was barely there as she sacrificed herself for her family and kingdom (or I guess chosen as a sacrifice) but she was still a mother!! Another less obvious option was Yzma. I mean she does say that she practically raised Kuzco and they did share some characteristics like their shallow views and fixation on appearances.
Just wanted to comment to say you missed something important for Zira. She does actually show some potential good mother hood status when Nuka dies as she's seen quietly hushing him and telling him to rest, and is actually seen as mournful towards his death, causing her to turn on Kovu.
She just forgets and gets over Nuka in the climax. Her last words were literally "This is for you Scar!" no mention of avenging her own son. It's obvious she never really cared about any of her kids and all she really cares about is Scar and avenging him. Zira just saw all 3 of her kids as either dead weights or tools in her own selfish desires. Also she never got it through her thick skull that it was her own neglect and abuse which caused Nuka to die because all he wanted was her love and approval and he ended up dying trying to impress her and finally get her attention. Zira in ever sense deserved the watery fate she got.
@@robonaught she did all of that, but the people who made the list completely skipped over the fact that she was seen as motherly more times than gothel
i see everyone else adding on other moms and they right, but no one's talking about Helen Parr. I know disney hadn't bought pixar when the first incredibles came out, but with the incredibles 2 now made by pixar and disney, I think she counts. Not only is Helen a fantastic mother, she's dynamic. at the beginning of the movie she's doing her best to protect her kids but her fear gets in the way of letting them express themselves and accept their powers as part of themselves. but as she goes through hell and highwater to bring her family back together, she always puts her kids' safety first, literally wrapping herself around them in the plane explosion, and doing her best to keep them out of battle whenever possible. her speech to violet and dash in the cave on nomanisan island? beautiful, especially when she not only apologizes to Violet for pressuring her, but acknowledges the changes in their lives and tries to prepare her for it with confidence and encouragement. by the end of the movie, she is working to be supportive of her kids' powers and interests, letting Dash join the track team and trusting him to know when to hide his powers. she works for her kids' safety while trusting them with handling their own abilities.
Alcmene is a really good Disney mother! Although she has very little screen time in the movie, she is kind and caring to everybody! She loves her son with all her heart, and is willing to do anything to keep him happy! Hercules was an outcast and she stood by his side and didn’t leave him not even once! Throughout the movie she is seen comforting Hercules, she even lets him be his own person after he finds out his identity! She is willing to tell him everything and let him go! I mean, she loves her son very much! She is a really good Disney mother! I wish that she had more screen time in Disney’s Hercules! Also I love her voice! It is very gentle and warm!

still doesn't beat kala for one reason: lack of screen time. kala also risked her life to save tarzan and was also willing to risk her life in the failed attempt to save her biological kid
I'm glad Ariel is finally getting the respect as a mother, she deserves it.

@@cones914 Uh, no.
Not really she sucks at it.
yeah, even though it was wrong to hide the truth and lie to her daughter, Melody.
They should have included Lilo's sister too, who basically becomes Lilos mum.
Lol, when i was really young and watched Lilo and Stich from the first time... i thought she was her mom
Her name is Nani, and becoming Lilo's guardian didn't change her from sister to mum ("mom" for my case).
Just coz she's female & takes care of her? Anybody can be a guardian but not a mother.
In the beginning of the movie before Stitch arrives, Lilo mentions "I like you better as a sister than a mom."
Nani, although she's trying to take over the motherly type, she's still young and doesn't necessarily know what she's doing, so that older sister vibe is still there.
I was hoping to see some other moms in my opinion who're also good:
-Koda's mom from brother bear
-Perdita from 101 *dalmatians* (corrected)
-Jumbo's mom from Dumbo

-Imelda from Coco

you should have included rapunzels biological mother, even though she had minimal screen time she did a lot for her. she sent guards to search for a cure to whatever sickness she had, had soldiers sent to search for rapunzel for many years, had memoirs of her all over the kingdom, and sent out lanterns every year in memory of rapunzel.
Arianna is definitely a good mom. She gets plenty of character development and ultimately provides the encouragement Rapunzel needs to defeat the series big bad.
AtarahDerek
Heck, ZT could’ve made the list if the sequels&prequels and the Series got used for various entries.
And her in the animated TV series is a great mom.
Isn’t the Evil Queen the worst mother by the rules? She tries to kill her own daughter twice

By all means, Gothel is the definition of an "Entitled Parent"
She's the first Karen?
Perdita should be on the list if you're going to include animal mothers
Also Ursula is more of a pet owner to Floatsam and Jetsam
Ed Ra
She’s arguably a maternal figure to Ariel during her brief interactions. I was hoping that would’ve been expanded on more with Flotsam and Jetsam as an aside as proof she’s capable of genuine affection when she bothers (sorta like Morgana’s cameo)
I see Ursula as one of those people who see thier pets as thier children..... I don't know if that counts or not..... XD
Gothel is certainly not abusive. She gives Rapunzel everything except freedom
@@ranran_dv Gothel was ready to enslave Rapunzel and keep using her hair, she was literally holding back with chains at the end
@@srmicho9492 Rapunzel has everything in that tower
The gold medalist is a definite fit. I don't think there is any other mother in the Disney Universe who helped their child discover who and what he is even to the realization that she may never see him again. She knew what her son could have decided to do and yet she did what she had to do anyway. A close second I could think of is Alcmene, Hercules's adoptive Earth mother (who in the original myth was His biological mother by the way), but the "losing her son" part was a possibility that was just not as DEFINITE as The Gold Medalist.
alkmene is a very good mother she is one of Disney’s best! She deserves a spot right next to Tarzan‘s gorilla mother, she is very sweet!
I'm surprised you didn't mention Elenor from Brave. I imagine she'd be very interesting to analyze.

Nala would be in the top
Elinor would be in the grey area. She tore merida down and burnt her bow.
Iduna would be good because she risked her life to discover the truth about Elsa. And in the sequel u see Anna and Elsa having 2 watch their parents die, revealing the truth 2 them
Nala: the best mother
Mother Gothel: the worst mother
@Take This F what about Sarabi? Simba's mother?
Nala barely had any screentime as a mother, we mostly see the parenting from Simba.
@Take This F That makes Simba is the best FATHER.....behind MUFASA
So glad Sarah Hawkins was included in this! Bravo 👏🏻

Oh come on, Ariel was trying to keep Melody safe, she didn’t want her to make the same mistake with Morgana like she did with Ursula.
can we have a special shout out to Della Duck?
mother of Huey, Dewey & Louie
nathan prins she trying to get back to her children for 10 - 11 years and she never gave up !

It's a shame that Kanga didn't make it on the list. Because she rockets straight to the top as the most good.
Sarabi and Nala will always be my favorite Disney mothers.
I wish Aunt Cass from Big Hero 6 was on this list as well. Why Mother Gothel is worse than Zira?Zira loved Kovu . Mother Gothel loved no one
Zira just saw her own children as objects and tools in her own selfish desires.
robonaught They both 3 been treated bad anyway 😕
What Zira felt was not love. She was using Kovu as a pawn
A gorilla is a better mom than all of these mothers-

Zira just saw all 3 of her kids as either dead weights or tools in her own selfish desires.
No doubt. GOAT

Will There Be A Disney Dads Good To Evil For Father's Day?
I love my mother's everywhere ❤💗💓💕💖💞🤰
