Isabella and Mirabel rivalry could have been different. Mirabel is jealous of Isabella for being the favorite and Isabella is jealous of Mirabel for basically being able to do whatever she wants.

I mean, there kinda is a villain, well, villains. Those being the conquistadors that killed Alma’s husband. Yes, we don’t see much of them, but they’re the reason Alma became so stern and cold in the first place.
I realize that the entire community probably doesn't count as a "character," but they definitely deserve something close to a villain's ranking because they did not give Alma any emotional support after her husband was killed and they shamelessly exploited her desire to make her family useful. I think Alma deserved the "pride medal" because she was more concerned about the prestige that came with the magical gifts than wanting anything material. Isabelle and Mariano were never formally engaged, and I think her yelling at Mirabel when the dinner broke up was because she never wanted to marry him, and Mirabel was pressing him to propose in order to take pressure off of Luisa. It didn't occur to Isabelle that Mirabel would not know how she really felt about marrying Mariano. Actually, Dolores was dropping a hint to Mirabel about where to find Bruno when she told her about the "rats talking in the wall." I believe that she thought he might be able to help Mirabel find out what was going on but could not mention him by name in front of the rest of the family. I would not call her pining for Mariona lusting since she never acting on her feelings until Mirabel started pointing him in her direction. I have to put Julieta much further down on the list because she should have argued that Mirabel be moved out of the nursery when Antonio was born because looking after a baby/toddler is too demanding a job for a ten- to twelve-year-old and a girl should not have to go through puberty while sharing the room she's sleeping in with a male cousin. There had to have been shore rooms that could have been repurposed for her daughter's use and, as the one who basically ran the kitchen, she could have threatened an embargo until everyone agreed. I also think that she was actively trying to silence Mirabel by trying to convince her that the cracks were just a figment of her imagination and reminding her about what happened to Bruno and saying, "I don't want the same thing to happen to you." The people trying to kill Pedro, Alma and their friends began by firebombing houses at night instead of shooting cannons into the town in broad daylight, they weren't carrying rifles when they overtook the refugees, and their clothes did not look like military uniforms. What's more, the incident was based on the One Thousand Days War of Colombia, not an invasion. Those were fellow countrymen, possibly former neighbors. Why didn't you mention the Casita? It was absolutely committed to helping that family and so in touch with Mirabel that it could put slippers on her feet as she walked. When it was crumbling, it did everything it could to help her reach the candle while pushing everyone else safely outside and used the last of its life to shield her from falling rubble.

I don’t even think this is a real theory. Right when Pedro died, the magic appeared, so of course the magic is because of him and he inhabits it. In fact, while watching this for the first time, it was quite obvious that he caused and still is controlling the magic. Honestly, I rate this theory 3⭐️ out of 5⭐️.

hi I'm Robert I'm using one of my mom's phones with her permission right now. Not going to lie I don't like it when a movie doesn't have a happy ending. Salt lake for example I don't like how Maribel doesn't get magic by the end of the movie like bro what's the point of even making a movie that you know it's like recording something like just a pumpkin sitting in the sun but not long enough to even show it running like what was the point. Alma Madrigal is definetely one of the worst Disney characters ever. She "loved" her family members only if they either had useful powers(like healing and cooking of Julieta) or if they had powers at all. If someone had no powers(like Mirabel) or his/her power seemed awful(like Bruno), she treats them like shit. Also, I hate it, that Alma did nothing to stop the demonising of her son in Encanto, as she definetely hated him herself, just because he predicted only bad things(and I guess, Alma was bad also as mother, otherwise, neither Pepa, nor Bruno would have problems with their superpowers and mental states). As for Mirabel, she treated her horribly just because she had no powers, but on the same time, she was powerless herself. What a hipocricy! And, at last, the final scenes, where Alma allegedly apologizes to Mirabel and Bruno and whole town accepts Bruno, is unlogical and seems uncanon:after the destruction of Casita, Alma would rather blamed Mirabel on "killing magic", than apologizing to her. And the people of Encanto would have tried to kill Bruno, if he'd have showed himself in Encanto again. In my opinion, the canonic plot ends on the moment of Mirabel's exodus from Encanto. What happened later, is just her dream and nothing more. That's all, folks!!!

Hey WickedBinge, I think you forgot about the Conquistadors and should have put them lower than Alma, like Alma while she may be flawed and that is why she should be at the 2nd lowest spot on the list. I think that the Conquistadors since they killed Pedro, that should count as murder and place them at the very bottom of the list. Like they may only get a small amount of screen time but that is a major thing of scale and impact in the movie. Also killing another person is murder especially since the Conquistadors killed Pedro who was unarmed and defenseless too. Also there are four conquistadors on the horses they were riding on and if you know your religion or symbolism, i guess at least in the movie they could be a reference to the Madrigals as the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse as if it wasn't for Pedro sacrificing himself, the Conquistadors would have killed them all, the entire family and etc.

I feel like y’all watched a different movie!? mirabel outside the top 3 when she was the only one who actually focused on solving the problems? luisa is nice but she didn’t do anything to warrant being higher than the girl who risked her life for the family multiple times. Bruno number 1 when he ran away from his problems abandoned his sisters and family without notice!? Anyways antonio is number 1 as he’s the only one who’s still pure and not corrupted by the same mindset as everyone else. I mean, there kinda is a villain, well, villains. Those being the conquistadors that killed Alma’s husband. Yes, we don’t see much of them, but they’re the reason Alma became so stern and cold in the first place.
They remind me of the angry human mob from Hotel Transylvania who killed Martha(Dracula’s wife). The two flashbacks are very similar as well.

I realize that the entire community probably doesn't count as a "character," but they definitely deserve something close to a villain's ranking because they did not give Alma any emotional support after her husband was killed and they shamelessly exploited her desire to make her family useful.
I think Alma deserved the "pride medal" because she was more concerned about the prestige that came with the magical gifts than wanting anything material.
Isabelle and Mariano were never formally engaged, and I think her yelling at Mirabel when the dinner broke up was because she never wanted to marry him, and Mirabel was pressing him to propose in order to take pressure off of Luisa. It didn't occur to Isabelle that Mirabel would not know how she really felt about marrying Mariano.
Actually, Dolores was dropping a hint to Mirabel about where to find Bruno when she told her about the "rats talking in the wall." I believe that she thought he might be able to help Mirabel find out what was going on but could not mention him by name in front of the rest of the family. I would not call her pining for Mariona lusting since she never acting on her feelings until Mirabel started pointing him in her direction.
I have to put Julieta much further down on the list because she should have argued that Mirabel be moved out of the nursery when Antonio was born because looking after a baby/toddler is too demanding a job for a ten- to twelve-year-old and a girl should not have to go through puberty while sharing the room she's sleeping in with a male cousin. There had to have been shore rooms that could have been repurposed for her daughter's use and, as the one who basically ran the kitchen, she could have threatened an embargo until everyone agreed. I also think that she was actively trying to silence Mirabel by trying to convince her that the cracks were just a figment of her imagination and reminding her about what happened to Bruno and saying, "I don't want the same thing to happen to you."
The people trying to kill Pedro, Alma and their friends began by firebombing houses at night instead of shooting cannons into the town in broad daylight, they weren't carrying rifles when they overtook the refugees, and their clothes did not look like military uniforms. What's more, the incident was based on the One Thousand Days War of Colombia, not an invasion. Those were fellow countrymen, possibly former neighbors.
Why didn't you mention the Casita? It was absolutely committed to helping that family and so in touch with Mirabel that it could put slippers on her feet as she walked. When it was crumbling, it did everything it could to help her reach the candle while pushing everyone else safely outside and used the last of its life to shield her from falling rubble.

I don’t even think this is a real theory. Right when Pedro died, the magic appeared, so of course the magic is because of him and he inhabits it. hi I'm Robert I'm using one of my mom's phones with her permission right now. Not going to lie I don't like it when a movie doesn't have a happy ending. Salt lake for example I don't like how Maribel doesn't get magic by the end of the movie like bro what's the point of even making a movie that you know it's like recording something like just a pumpkin sitting in the sun but not long enough to even show it running like what was the point. And I don't think they're going to make a sequel anytime soon that involves her actually finally getting her gift. It's sad but true. I mean it's true right now.

Alma Madrigal is definetely one of the worst Disney characters ever. She "loved" her family members only if they either had useful powers(like healing and cooking of Julieta) or if they had powers at all. If someone had no powers(like Mirabel) or his/her power seemed awful(like Bruno), she treats them like shit.
Also, I hate it, that Alma did nothing to stop the demonising of her son in Encanto, as she definetely hated him herself, just because he predicted only bad things(and I guess, Alma was bad also as mother, otherwise, neither Pepa, nor Bruno would have problems with their superpowers and mental states). As for Mirabel, she treated her horribly just because she had no powers, but on the same time, she was powerless herself. What a hipocricy!
And, at last, the final scenes, where Alma allegedly apologizes to Mirabel and Bruno and whole town accepts Bruno, is unlogical and seems uncanon:after the destruction of Casita, Alma would rather blamed Mirabel on "killing magic", than apologizing to her. And the people of Encanto would have tried to kill Bruno, if he'd have showed himself in Encanto again. In my opinion, the canonic plot ends on the moment of Mirabel's exodus from Encanto. What happened later, is just her dream and nothing more.

Hey WickedBinge, I think you forgot about the Conquistadors and should have put them lower than Alma, like Alma while she may be flawed and that is why she should be at the 2nd lowest spot on the list. I think that the Conquistadors since they killed Pedro, that should count as murder and place them at the very bottom of the list. Like they may only get a small amount of screen time but that is a major thing of scale and impact in the movie. Also killing another person is murder especially since the Conquistadors killed Pedro who was unarmed and defenseless too.
Also there are four conquistadors on the horses they were riding on and if you know your religion or symbolism, i guess at least in the movie they could be a reference to the Madrigals as the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse as if it wasn't for Pedro sacrificing himself, the Conquistadors would have killed them all, the entire family and etc.
