  • The South Georgia pintail, Anas georgica georgica, is an endemic type of duck from South Georgia island in the South Atlantic Ocean. It is a subspecies of the yellow-billed pintail (Anas georgica), which also includes the Chilean pintail (Anas georgica spinicauda) from the South American mainland.
Southe Georgia pintails are rare in aviculture, which makes every specimen valuable to the captive population.
We currently keep 2 pairs and 2 spare males, which have just been moved to a new enclosure today.
