- A sheriff’s deputy is on administrative leave after video surfaced of a use of force arrest of an armed robbery suspect in Hesperia earlier this week.
Ellina Abovian reports for the KTLA 5 Morning News on March 28, 2024.
KTLA 5 News - Keeping Southern Californians informed since 1947.
You probably wouldn't mind if it was your family member that was robbed by them
Correct. Do people think robbers don't rough their victims? News media should show the passion for the victims, not the criminals.

Media playing look at the poor defenseless Armed robber, Convicted Felon and Gang member
Maybe they’re playing that card because the guy was defenseless, and unarmed. Despite his past record you don’t knew someone repeatedly in the face when the guy doesn’t pose a threat with 3 men on top of him. We use our tax dollars to fund the sheriff and we expect professionalism on their part. What’s up.
Stop resisting

Are you kidding me. Rough arrest of armed robbery suspect is the headline where he refused to stop and they found the stolen items. Crime should not be without consequences.
It does not make sense. The robbery was days prior and this guy looks like he pulled over not like they crashed into him. So he stopped and days later he is riding with stolen items? And he owns a business? His car is worth 20k so I’m sure he’ll get a good lawyer.

Your mom deserves a promotion for being a dedicated worker on Fig
The fact that it took 3 officers to take this guy down and a 4th one had to jump in to assist should be a huge indicator that he was being combative during the initial arrest.
If you are violent robber with lengthy criminal history, should you expect a gentle arrest when you resisted? With the rough arrest, he might think twice next time committing a robbery.
Where does it say he was a violent robber? And do you not know what suspected means? Just say you're brain dead next time

@@georgesykes394Yeh, too bad he wasn't arrested in the 80s, back then they would have used flashlights, batons and radios to punch him. Cops didn't play back then, that's why people respected police officers so much. Now it's all child's play, people do whatever they want and face no repercussions. Cops softened up a lot because of the political circus.
I want KTLA News Channel to go to Russia and report back to Los Angeles just how they arrest over there.
Why is this even a discussion. The guy committed armed robbery. California is way too soft on crime and then it wonders why crime is so high right now.

Nothing to see here folks. Don't arm rob people. PERIOD.
Using force is never pretty… The news coverage on these type of incidents will always sway on how bad it looks but never say how it lead up to the use of force. Soon we will see robots doing the policing and let’s wait to see what they have to say about force then.

No pitty here.
Dear idiots in the common section. Just because they are pulling over a suspect doesn't mean that they didn't use excessive force. He was cuffed on the ground defenseless the knees to the head were against protocol and unecessary. BtW my whole family is law enforcement. These cops are the worst kind.
This has been going on since the days of Frank L Shaw
Excessive force is needed if the suspect is trying to resist the arrest.
Undoubtedly, the dude being arrested by force did NOT VOLUNTARILY surrender himself to law enforcement to avoid this inevitable encounter. And, can we all agree that the ‘armed robbery suspect’ is not a nice man. He wasn’t going to be named ‘Good Citizen of the Year’. Resisting arrest will result in an escalation of force to gain compliance to lawful commands. I sure hope the officer’s knee wasn’t hurt while performing his duties.
It’s fine
Clean 64 tho .. wonder if he’s selling it for his lawyer cost ?
Tough guys on both sides. The cop is just making sure this suspect will not be held accountable, so he can catch him again later. Job security.
I got no problem with this.
So what those are submission blows
