      If you have a DJI drone you'd be screwing yourself to hand it over to some schmuck like this guy. DJI has a whole certified program for drone repairs and refurbishing. Repairs are resonable. More than likely this guy would just send it to DJI and add some cost to make a buck in the process because IT'S A FRONT.

      There's actually no way to tell at this stage. It's pretty bad that cops dragged him out and paraded him for the press though. That's the government forcing someone to submit to the needs of a private news organisation.
      It could also be that one of his employees and/or customers were smuggling and he got caught up in it.

      Did anyone here actually watch the video? The cops explained how they caught the people. Wire tapping, they listened in on the criminals conversations. They don’t execute a raid like this without evidence

      I'd bet all charges against the shop personal get dropped due to lack of evidence as they probably only have phone records linking the smugglers to the shop and zero direct involvement. This was 100% for the nationwide news bite and to make it look like they are doing something about they terrible prison conditions but in reality 99% of the contraband is smuggled in with staff knowledge or by staff directly...

      Yeah, drone repair seems like a very marginable business. Suddenly you start making lots of sales and you can afford to live. Does the tire shot ask why the guy with the souped up car is buying high speed tires? Does the ski shop ask why the guy is buying 4 ski masks? Now they did say they have electronic communication, so if that communication states that they knew what they were being used for....that's different.

    As someone that's been incarcerated, I can tell ya, if he was involved in something like that, he very likely DIDN'T have a choice. If you know someone in prison, NEVER VISIT THEM!! The way those gangs work, they follow your loved ones, then put pressure on them, often by threatening the lives of their incarcerated loved ones.

      Yea, although this report didn't say if he was selling directly to inmates at that prison or friends of the inmates. If it's friends of inmates I'm sure they wouldn't say to him how they are going to use the drones and drop drugs/ phones into prison yard, maybe.Correction, the investigation said he was communication with inmates, so illegal probably.

      you know this is a frame job for the guy to repair a mules drone and framed him to cover for corrections officers bringing the contraband in. Think about it if the 170 drone seizures happened do you think the guy would have gotten word through his criminal connection that stuffs gone down we need to stop.     I worked 15 yr for DOC. We have access to dogs that can detect drugs and electrical devices but aren't used. There are detectors and frequency scramblers that can see drones 1/4 of a mile away. "The love of money".

    This has been happening in prisons around the world for years even way before drones. A helicopter landed in prison and took an inmate away a few years ago.

    If this is a raid how did the media know about it, get to both locations and get such, up close, intimate contact with the those involved and the arrestees?! This is a crime scene yet they have their cameras right there to take images. They claim that the drone repair shop was involved due to communications with inmates and their "associates" could that mean he knows someone at the prison (family member?) and he is in touch with "associates" because they get their drones repaired there. I need more information as to how they made this connection before I condemn the business owner.

      He essentially modded, hacked or “jail broke” drones so the gangs could operate/ fly drones inside restricted/ geo fenced off no fly areas, like prisons and airports.
      Not sure if the act of doing the mods by itself is legal or not but helping anyone commit any kind of felony on government property Always is.

It's only possibly illegal of the cops have communication of people asking him to disable geofencing for the express purpose of dropping stuff in prison.
