Personally, I vastly prefer Legendary edition over the OG. Textures are much better, and the gameplay tweaks help ME1 a lot.
My only complaint is that it makes ME2 feel like a slog after the myriad of improvements ME1 got
It really proved ME2 had a weaker story now that the gameplay doesn’t hold up as well

@@nycto5335 I played a sentinal and I completely forgot how much me2 locks weapons behind classes and the entire game was a horrible slog until I could unlock assault rifles

They really fucked up the lighting, that’s the biggest issue for me
That always seems to be the problem with remakes, they just always mess up the lighting somehow.
They didn't? The lighting is better in the new game because they added physically based materials. Instead of skin being plastic, grass being plastic and only colour and texture making materials different, in the remake surfaces actually interact properly with light.

@@wile123456 it's not about realism, it's about style and mood. OG has a cool blue atmosphere that gives it a distinct vibe. Legendary's pallet is a lot blander and brighter. Feels less directed, less distinct. It's like the visuals went from HBO miniseries to standard CW serial.

The models are and better the textures are better, it's mainly the lighting.
Im not gonna bother remarking about the graphics, but more how the changed the ugly as hell UI for Me1. The LE UI for the first game is so much cleaner.

But the mass effect 3 journal is insufferable. I can’t stand the fact that I have dozens of missions from main story missions, side missions, and DLC missions all under the same tab. Also the fact that missions don’t have any type of progression or checklist so you lose track of what shit you’ve done. I just spend so much time scrolling through my mission list trying to figure out what fetch quests are ready to finish and where I should go next. Also the fact that they’ll give you fetch quests that you can’t actually do yet, and if you fail a mission that you can only do on a specific mission, it will just sit in your mission list until the end of the game. Shit is super irritating and wasn’t a problem in the first 2 games. This is the reason I hated playing rpgs when I was younger. I cannot stand the cluttered and disorganized lists. You’d think the last game in the trilogy wouldn’t have this problem.

@@mediterraneanmint89 Actually if you miss something in a playable secondary mission you can buy it from the Spectre terminal for little amount of credits. The only missions that you can fail that are not fetchquests, but actual secondary ones are those that come avaiable in the different acts and that may affect the main story if not completed, and then the Grissom academy that is actually timed. You will only lock yourself out of finishing certain missions after starting the Cerberus base assault. Fetch quests related to Omega dlc are also not posible to be finished after leaving it, same for Leviathan dlc areas. Its not that bad, but it is certainly worse than ME1.
@@blackknight4152 either way, the menu was a pain in the ass, especially for people like me who have adhd. I am very scatteredbrained and forgetful. So I found myself scrolling through the missions way more than I should’ve been. I promise you I’ve spent hours walking around the citadel just trying to clean up my mission list, and often some of the missions weren’t even doable yet. So I’m trying to figure out missions I can do vs missions I can’t, missions where I have the thing vs missions where I don’t, missions that require me to scan a planet, vs missions that require me to do a real mission, all while giving no progression. I’m surprised people who aren’t cognitively challenged don’t get lost in that just a little. It’s just too much for me to remember off the top of my head. I need shit broken down into categories with progression.

I don't know, With each playthrough I find myself liking her less and less. She's like that person that tries to make everything that comes out of their mouth some profound statement and that act kinda gets old after a while.

You really should tbh. LE has nice improvements to ME1, but the rest of the Trilogy is a buggy mess, at least on PS4. Stay on modded PC as far as I'm concerned.

My Skyrim with 650+ mods looked amazing as well. Of course not ever texture is updated so its inconsistent at times but my Player character looks better than PS5 gen graphics.

I never cared for the me3 default femshep I prefer the one from the older games despite it not even being a unique model. Though they made it even worse whoever touched it up did a worse job than modders working for free. It sucks too cause with a few changes it could be pretty good.

Honestly I have a bad computer so I can't even play LE on my pc, but mass effect modding community really came in clutch for me.

I dont know how but ME1 got the citadel just right, walking through the presidium and districts was entertaing, i feel like in every game the citadel just gets worse and more small, especifically ME3.
The atmosphere in the Citadel is perfect in ME1 and there's so much more to explore like you said. I don't mind that many corridors don't have much to interact with, it just feels more immersive and believable that they exist
Nothing beats Emily Wong, she's the top tier catch on the citadel
My only complaint about the remaster the the exorcist head spin the NPCs do whe looking at you with their back turned 😅

I love that in legendary edition you can moon walk if you place the camera just right and hold the left stick just enough

The graphics were never too important for me to enjoy a game but the fact that they improved the terrible controls of the original makes this the definitive version

The lighting generally was a downgrade in the Legendary edition, but the textures and everything else look much better.
OG ME2 had true best lighting and the OGs are harder. Best thing is picture mode and zooming in on all the secrets in ME1 & 2.
Apart from terrible textures and mediocre gameplay, OG mass effect is still an amazing game. I can't forget the feeling I had the first time I created my Shepard.
My Custom Shepard actually look better than the default one IMO and that first Cutscene where you see him walk throught the Normandy with that Epic music. To this day my greatest videogame memory as a teenager. Fuck man this franchise mean so much to me.

Man. She a Star Trek Romulan captain in the New Generatiom series. Like when Counsellor, Troi was kidnapped on to the Romulan ship. Damn. Nice detail there’s. Never noticed that before. Well. When I first played mass effect back in 2008 I wasn’t a huge Star Trek fan. Wasn’t my think when I was a kid and a young adult in my 20’s at the time of this game. Love it now. One of the best series ever. Easily!

As someone who played all these back in the day the legendary is like a wet dream so many better visuals controls the mako update and the bug eyes for nostalgia ❤️ all the dlc adds hours of content Also if your new to the serious it’s worth it to pick it up you won’t be disappointed
The only thing I don’t like about legendary edition is it’s too bright in my option
