Hi Alexi, I know about this 360 thing for a long time, because Im into bmx, but I'm not a huge fan of this. We were always aiming to big fisheye effect, but this is bit too much. It can provide some amazing shots, but have to be used wisely (not full 360-recorded videos) For example some car chase views can be golden (like this one you made accidentaly). Best thing for this will be auto-aim lock, and movement carrefuly added during montage-It should looks better. I bet most of people here watched this chinese made Wangan Midnight movie. In bloppers, or at B-roll there were visible chase camera rigs- an long tube with camera attached at the end. Those are best shots from this movie. And now- if you compare how much these rigs cost, and how simply and cheap is this camera, in result it looks like a great deal. Also this Auto-aim works perfect, but con is we cant tell what is real angle of the car. Another nice thing is feeling of speed- its looks like you're hittng 300 kmh! One thing makes me wonder since I saw it for the first time- how you control camera movement during montage? Is there add-on for vegas/adobe? you have to do it real time or by timestamps? Overall- I like classic headcam, sorry, but for sure You show me that I should change my mind soon :) this chase camera shot was promising! I wanted to build wangan-like rig for my car movies, but never happaned. Now everyone can make an shot like that. Yes, I'm a bit jelaous... :)

You can actualy upload 360° Video to RUclips and the viewer can turn the position where he wants to look by just useing the mouse and drag the image left or right, or even up and down
I'll second that. I believe RUclips allows much higher resolutions/bitrate for VR/360 content now so could potentially look really good. Would be the closest to a ride along you could get!
This was fantastic. Love all the new angles however until getting used to them feeling a little migraine or motion-sickness. Happy you made the Goku training comment. Looking forward to what you can do with this camera. Keep up the good work.
One thing's for sure, it's WAY better than the helmet cam.. Place it in the passenger side angle and skip the helmet cam alltogether. That should elevate your videos to a whole new level..

I love my 'other brand' 360 camera but my only complaint is the files are massive! Looks like you've already gotten really good with the editing which is something I'm severely lacking. :)
Try mounting it far back behind the rear wing. just slightly above the roof line. That way it will look like a racing game Far Rear View. Maybe some custom mount? I'm not sure how rules apply on Circuits about how far you can bodywork go behind the rear wheels.
Oooo he actually did it... Madlad But the video is not actually 360°... It's more like recorded the video in 360° then turned into a normal 2d video format.... How about make the video format 360° comparable so when you move your phone it move with it or watchable with VR headsets.
Lotta potential for viewers uncontrollably vomiting with some of those shots, but lotta potential for some amazing angles too. When the "chase cam" angle slipped to a rear three-quarters view at 6:20 or so that was actually pretty neat, and the passenger seat angle was cool too. Helmet cam is still the best view though! Edit: I'm guessing you get to choose the framing in post, too? With some practice you could probably get some amazing exterior shots. That selfie-stick out the window segment would be amazing if you could keep the car centred the entire time, maybe even cropped in closer to the car. It's so wide-angle it probably doesn't need the full 3m of extension either.
Should have 2 of these. One as a passenger view and other on the roof and that would make amazing videos. Along with your helmet gopro your all set. Hope this means we'll get more videos soon... even putting these in other cars competing in comps. Miss the videos covering drifting happening at other tracks but will happily watch you drive everyday!
Its an awesome little camera. Definitely need to run power to it or bring a long a number of batteries. I picked up a 3 pack of batteries and charger for like $40 on amazon. Definitely worth the money. Just be careful, those lenses scratch easily, it is not near as robust as "that other camera". So were you mic'ed up externally and adding back in the sound in post process because these things are super susceptible to wind noise and you had none, but I also didn't think you could do a USB mic into it. The only thing I've been able to do is use a mic in my phone, and then combine later.
Alexi, take the foam bit off the end of the extended selfy stick.. that will remove that black "oval" from at the bottom of the video. (the foam is only there for storage of the selfy stick). BTW I love the 360 drift shots!

Yeah. It should be zoomed in a bit in post to get a more realistic FOV imo. Other than that though this camera is amazeballs.

The footage inside the car gave a very good sense of speed, quite possibly because it was showing front and side windows at the same time.

Where you screw on the camera on to the "invisible" stick, this thicker part has to be remove so it won't be shown in the footage afterwards.
I don't like how it tilts when going around corners. It's pointless and just messes with me and you can't see what's going on
