NYMR Steam Gala 2023 - Saturday's Action on Day 3

- Saturday 23rd September was an early start for me as I made my way back to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway for day 3 of their Steam Gala 2023. Starting my day at Darnholme, I then ventured to Moorgate and then ending up at Grosmont. I did visit the Esk Valley but it was very busy.
Things in the late afternoon changed, as the 80136 failed just outside Goathland which meant 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley was pulled back into Grosmont, which gave us all some extra time to film and take photos.
I also decided to stay until it got dark as I wanted to capture some long exposure images of the steam trains.

I know you have some great video of these majectic machines in action, but thank you for the foreground shot of the ground ash around the rails at 4.25 that really helped me out.

Cracking video 👍 i didn't manage to make it to darnholme over the gala. I bet it was busy. And love the night shots
Thank you. Oh it did get busy at Darnholme, only a few people who stood in the way of others, but after a few polite words they moved lol. That's why I arrived around 7am so I could get parked and then found my spot just after 8am as I knew the crowds would suddenly appear. It's a shame the NYMR don't do night photography events as I am sure many of us would pay to go on one of them.
@@railway_photographer ye I can believe it got very crowded. On the last day I tried to go back to beck hole but couldn't get parked up so went and joined the masses at Grosmont 🤣
I know it would be good if they did some night running events. The only one that I know is the light spectacular at the end of October which I am going to try and get to 👍

Hello thanks for watching and your comment:-). Hopefully my next video will be in a couple of weeks as planning to visit the GCR steam gala. I also hope to return to the NYMR as well to capture Sir Nigel Greasley as it travels up and down the line. Fingers crossed weather is on my side :-) . Have a good weekend.
