Yes you are showing exactly what I see all the time in my HP G2 V2 headset. It is very clear in the center of the lenses. But as I look with just my eyes and not moving the headset, and a very small distance from the center of the lens, the details in the lenses become blurry. This makes the G2 have a very small clear sweet spot and no matter how close I am to the lenses of the G2. My Rift S has better clarity than the G2 for the overall lenses. I do SIM Racing majority of the time. Thanks for your video.
Hi, i am using the counter balance weight and a top headstrap from studio form vr. It makes a huge difference for me and is alot more comfortable too wear for long sessions.
On my 8kx I prefer to up the res in Pitool to 1.5, then lower the SteamVR down to the correct resolution (turns out to be about 70%-ish). It seems that Pitool is better at rendering for the Pimax than SteamVR. Give it a try.
Yup I've heard that a bunch, personally I think in my testing whatever the steam super sampling resolution gets set at dictates the overall quality of the game. 1.5 pitool with 45% SS vs 1.0 pitool 100%ss (nearly the same end resolution) I didn't really notice much difference. Maybe I'll test more cause you're not the only one that's mentioned that! Cheers!
@@AaronJay83 If Pitool render res is 1.0 then steam super sample on 100 percent is the correct resolution. (Its larger than described to account for barrel distortion)
I now have an 8K+ and an 8KX. Set the same backlight brightness 100%, why 8KX brightness is much dimmer than 8K+. Is this normal? Is it the power supply?
I have the Pimax 5k Super and with the last update on the Pitool the image is now slowly drifting to the right (clockwise) even when the headset is on a stable surface. I was advised by Pimax support to buy a base tracker to resolve this issue because the gyroscope inside the headset is screwed after the update (putting the tracking settings to 9 Axis on Pitool creates this issue). Do other VR headset have this issue? Thanks!
Nice Video ...I Run a Artisan Believe Or Not With a 5700 xt at 150 FOV and 120 ..??Would You Know If I Upgraded To a 3070 Or 3080 , I Know My FPS Would Increase by 20 to 30 Frames , But Would My Visuals Improve Because of Having Access To Nevidia Brain Warp and Smart Smothing ???
Are you playing iRacing? I have no where even close to that performance on my 8KX at a worse FOV and res with a i9-12900k and 3090 via ACC. As for your neck thing, I switched t my soft fabric 5k super head band and the front heavy feeling went away.
Yea ACC is notoriously bad in VR, iRacing runs like butter even on full FOV and full res. Interesting though, i've made due with just tightening the top strap like crazy :p But ya typically I am on iRacing/Rf2/Assetto corsa
@@derekbancarz4530 do the visuals get better after the intro Mazda cup? I dropped iracing because although crazy good framerate there was little to no immersion from just how 2005 the game looked.
@@DarkDMD LOL I understand that, I would say yes since some of the Interiors actually quite nice like the BMW/Ferrari gt3. Also tracks like Watkins Glen/norsdhcliefe look nice but some others ... @@derekbancarz4530 I tried ams2 and its obvious pc2 rip and runs mostly like crap. I'll try rf2 again, but I remember that one having 2005 vibes as well or being weird in VR. Thanks for the thoughts!
@@DarkDMD Yea to be honest I think AC once modded correctly can deliver the best immersive experience but requires a ton of tinkering with different versions of CSP. If I show someone VR I'll likely drop them into modded AC. For other titles like ACC I run on the triple screens which can also be nice. Happy racing man!
I wonder what your IPD is? mine is 64. I bought my 8kx because your videos, but Ive been really disappointed with it clarity. Its incredibly blurry for me. Like looking at the real world without my glasses on. I measured the distance between the sweet spots on the lenes and it 70mm at the lowest. So my IPD is 6 mm too small.
The IPD for the Glases musst 60-62,that make clearer, because the Displays is fix, only the Glases justiering with this setting wheel. The Display IPD make in the Pitool.
lol thanks! To be honest, though the 5k may be a better headset for simmers I don't personally think its worth it over the quest 2 (cost especially). I would either go for a GPU upgrade, or wait on an 8kx or even the 12kqled (if that thing ever comes out). Having had the q2, reverb g2, and the 8kx, going from q2 to 5k pimax might be a bit of an underwhelming upgrade. Just my honest feedback (I do love pimax) If you are planning on the 12kqled at some point in life they do have the trade in program so its almost like you didn't spend on the 5k, but I would either go for a 3080TI / 3090 then eventually save for a big upgrade for a headset, rather than going from am mid tier to a mid-high tier if that makes sense. If you didn't have the quest two id probably say go for the pimax if racing is your main thing, but I feel that would be a bit of a side grade rather than an upgrade lol. Hope this info helps!
It's not a review lol , just showing the different pixel counts for how much your GPU could be worked from full FOV to Normal and the wiggle room of pixels that can be pushed out in doing so, I mention a 3090 at the end of the vid and that overclocking helps. But running on a 9900k 3090 here though for reference

Good to know! I think I've come across that online, thanks for the input maybe ill check that out!

Try pulleys from kiwi directly above your sitting position (precisely two of them) and your pimax becomes weightless.
