Thanks Mark, that was exactly the review I was looking for. Your all round knowledge of VR/PCs/flying has made this an easy choice for me. Coming from a rift S (my 2nd headset) with a 3080 /9900K and 32gig and a desire for immersion/fov in msfs , this is now an essential upgrade as I’ll happily trade in a few ‘high’ settings for that fov, thanks again.
I have never tried a VR headset and this is way out of my price range but it's great to see what tech is out there, maybe one day this will be the norm at an affordable price.
The high priced Pimax 8KX can't play out its resolution without a high end PC if it comes to Flightsim. Considering the actual chip shortage, better go with a 2K device. It'll still look great and immersive!

is it good enough for you to buy one? Or maybe you'll be waiting on the consumer Varjo headset now. I havethe G2, and will probably wait for the Varjo, as I think an upgrade on resolution and lens clarity is more important than the FOV
You can try the fsr and reshade for VR mods which give significant clarity, performance/fps and color boosts to any hmd now including the 8kx.. Tack sharp and better fps in DCS for me now my 8kx.. until Varjo human eye resolution becomes more mainstream in price AND comes with 200° (which won't come for years) the 8kx is the best bang for your buck and a steal compared to the vr-3 for the overall experience of amazing clarity combined with situational awareness/immersion nearest to real human eye fov.. It's the best way of experiencing the future now and you'll get more and more out of it over time so it's one of the only hmds that are future proofed.. The vr-3 isn't ever going to get a wider fov
@@justinspirational - In the G2 centre it's exceptionally clear, but degrades quite quickly beyond that, because of the fresnel lenses, so software won't solve that. I hear the 8Kx has a larger area of sharpness, however the Varjo is on another level to both in terms of sharpness, nearly a 6K display and massive sweetspot and area of sharpness because of the aspheric lenses. Having used the PSVR, I know what its like, it's like there is no lens there anymore, no light mist or glare or rings anymore. You combine that lens clarity with 600 more pixels vertically and it's a massive improvement on G2 & 8Kx. I appreciate FOV is a big part of immersion, but to me clarity is most important. Also, if it has index fov, that's not bad. Varjo looks like 3rd gen VR, 4th gen will be varjo clarity with human fov.
@@imaginariumkey sure but why not try the G2 with the fsr mod with a compatible sim/game anyway? It's free and literally takes a couple of minutes to set up.. It does very significantly increase clarity in the G2 and 8kx which is more than enough for almost all purposes AND boosts fps.. Yes the clarity in the vr-3 is better but it doesn't really matter as it's unaffordable for most people and no wide fov.. Not even an audio solution at that crazy price.. For now, I'm very satisfied with the clarity/fov combined overall experience I'm getting with the 8kx..I have the aspheric lenses in my og htc vive (did the Samsung gear mod) and I agree the clarity or more to the point sweet spot is amazing and don't know why still to this day most hmds still come with fresnel lenses, though aspheric lenses aren't perfect either as they come with more distortions
@@justinspirational - The G2 is already razor sharp in the middle, so don't feel the need to try and sharpen it, it's just outside of that where it gets blurry. Straight in front everything is extremely clear, but if you glance around it loses that because of the lenses
