Even at 100% efficiency, which is impossible, just one of these things would draw 33.3 Amps from the 120V AC line at 4000 Watts. I could be wrong, but I doubt you have an outlet that would supply that. And if you plug both of these into the same circuit it's double trouble. These things need to be 240V. Hope you don't blow your circuit breakers or rip your screen. Edit: I see they offer a 6000W version and it does use a 240V input.
Speaker Power makes insane amps, and they do put out advertised power. They have been tested heavily on avs forums. They're about 90% efficient and will hold full output for at least 5+ seconds and then start to pull back. Even with pulling 30+ amps, the breaker will hold for a regular outlet because of the way breakers trip on overload. It will allow overloads for a short time before tripping. For example, and SquareD QO breaker will allow 2x the current to pass for a minimum of 9 seconds. And 5x the current for at least 1 second. Look up breaker time current curves for a better understanding.

@@jimbert50 Most music and movies have greater than 10db peak to average ratio which means if you're playing at max volume, with a 4000 watt amp then you're only averaging 400 watts. The industry considers 1/8 power draw to be normal. The 4000w amplifier's 1/8 power rating is 600w or 5amp at 120v however I recommend 1/4 power rating of 1200w or 10a at 120v. I have a custom painted jtr with port and an 18 inch driver hooked up to an europower 4k amp. holy shit!!!!
It smells of sheer dominance
The odor is thick
Thank you...... sorry about the typo I’m at work 😃
4000-watt wow you must have some pretty amazing amps that can pull over 30 amps at 120 volts!
Awesome vid!!!
Thank you Jay
@@Youthman seeing those four 18's being unwrapped was amazing. I got chills, lol. I've got six 18's, myself.
Whoah! 6 18’s? Now that’s impressive Jay
@@Youthman lol, ty. Love your vids. These six 18's were in my wagon for sound competition.
Damn that's sweet. Looks like it belongs in the back of a Tahoe.
3:23 Why would you not just cut the box off?
In case I decided to ship them back. Plus I save all of my boxes.
I hate you all!! 🤦♂️😂 Why won't someone drop a pair of these off with me??? Anyway, enough envy. Merry Christmas, Youthman!!
Haha have a Merry Christmas Robert
Sir can u plz help me to get a gud projector nd gud reciver
Lot of choices Epson, JVC, Sony.
Receiver, I recommend Marantz and Denon
Why people comparing pb16 ultra to subs with 2 drivers 18 inches and over aren't there no other subs out there to compare them to .well it only tells me one thing it tell me the pb16 is the sub to beat
This should easily outperform the Pb16
@@Youthman hell yes it should and will if not them I guess they can dump them
"Level of concern" = 140dB?
You many outlets you need to power this bad boy lol? 🤔
1
@@Youthman they got 8amp fuses, 1 outlet will be fine. On a side note, I think I'm in love with these subwoofers already 😍
i heard these watts doesnt count in normal way like 4000w is something around maybe 1500w for speakers, a speaker guy told me it has something to do with volts its not like that subs will be pulling 4000w from wall
How much do one cost?
$3500 each - jtrspeakers.com/captivator-s2.html
Ok thanks
Can’t wait for the demo you better tape your speakers to the walls
I know your wife is not too happy lol I would love to be there just to see the difference between sealed and ported but unfortunately I'm out of town you have a Merry Christmas Michael and family
Actually, she has given me permission to do whatever I want in the theater room. She just doesn’t want it in the living room. The theater room was actually her idea.
Youthman Wow, you really did marry up! ;) I did too and I also have a theater room, just with 2 tiny 12” Dayton subs... now I have subwoofer envy
These subs look like they’re made for serious business. Kinda remind me of the old Stereo Integrity HT 18’s. Can not wait for the demo and some excursion shots 😁
SI makes killer subs too
Been waiting for this for years
Dang!
Similar big subs have my friend in Europe in garage 15 year's ago
😳 Great Video 😳
Thank you
Awesome compact subwoofer for having 2 18's but that shipping packaging is awful and cheap.
Guess that’s what shipping insurance is for 😂
The Captivator RS2 can only ship freight, strapped to a pallet because of it's weight. The box is 500lbs rated, double corrugated.
JTR Speakers the box is very thick. I think people are just used to seeing foam padding around the cabinets. They arrived in perfect condition.
@ Fred Bercian What is your basis for saying that? You are comparing UPSable packaging (
i like how youthman cuts open his side of the box, i do *not* like how brad cuts open his side of the box.
You must have some very understanding neighbors or live in the country.
I live in a small gated community and have great neighbors. I have always told them to let me know if it ever bothers them.
@@Youthman I have blind neighbors who I'm good friends with so I also made sure to do a little extra soundproofing on the wall that faces them. And made that wall the rear of the theater.
Youthman Mike you put out grape videos on stereo systems Mega bass subwoofers we need a video. on how to convince the wife of getting dual subwoofers in the home or if not in the car and suggestions on how to convince the wife of subwoofers.
Haha that battle you will have to fight on your own. The struggle is real
Brad just slashed your RS2 ;)
I'm really looking forward will you find that Godzilla has gained some weight.. measured with those two monsters.. :D
Haha nice
Hay youth man I love watching your channel how can I get a discount off of those JTR subwoofer get back to me let me know thanks
If you buy 11 speakers and 4 subwoofers, I bet Tony and Jeff would offer you a discount. 😀 In all seriousness, Jeff doesn’t have much markup on his speakers and subs so I’m not aware of any discounts.
Jeff uses high end components. To give you an idea, the cost of the coaxial driver alone is $900.
If you're still married after a few go arounds with those bad boys.... she's a keeper!
She’s not going anywhere. It was her idea to have a dedicated theater room
Bump some Jack Ü, DJ snake, Flosstradomas, Illenium, Shaquille O'neal's newest Dubstep tracks or Hardwell on that thing. :-D
@Orav A. yep
The smell of victory or the agony of defeat?!
Of what?
@@Youthman I just followed up what Brad was saying. It just reminded me of ABC Wide World of Sports. Back in the 70's. Look forward to your review.
gsmd770 gotcha. I didn’t catch the reference
@@Youthman Yeah, that's a bit old school. A lot of people may not know it? I'm 50,so I'm an old head!
I can't get this video to play
Because this isn't a video.
Hi Rob, it starts as a Premiere so we can chat live during the video.
This r Goliath speakers 🏋....
For sure
Risky business using the knife on the woofer side
The woofer is set in 6”. Plus I was lifting the plastic as I cut.
pero hablen menos y digan las especificaciones de los bafles
Super sir
Shit they couldnt make a better grill than dat
I have JTR's, you don't put a grill on them. With a 35.5mm xmax you want to watch the woofers dance. Its awesome.
Yeah I don’t put grills on mine in the theater room. Living room the RF7 III have grills on to keep the wife happy
sorry,asceno audio sms g24 woofer
Review test...🙏🙏🙏
Get 6 of these and you have 1970's sensurround!
The worst subwofer packaging i've ever seen!! I owned myself SVS, Rythmik, PSA and HSU and this is by far the cheapest packaging
Guess that’s what insurance is for. They arrived in perfect condition and were shipped via freight
@@Youthman you're right youth, but believe me, JTR's costumer service isn't that great. Very anxious for your review my friend and thanks for the videos bud, you rock!! cheers...
@@juancarloshernandezaguiler3645 The RS2 can only ship freight due to it's weight. The box is double corrugated with a 500LBS rating which is probably much higher than what most others are using. We try our best to get back to people asap however during rushes all hands are in the shop building.
That packaging is fine for shipping freight. If it shipped parcel you would need more padding, but it is fine on a pallet.
@@ahmikjones He just said it *has* to be shipped freight. Do you really think your local UPS or FedEx guy is going to deliver them?
735.5 watts = 1 horsepower
YA KILLIN ME LOL
😂
"feed these jokers 4000 watts ..." have you been watching bigdwiz?
I’m not familiar with him.
@@Youthmanhe does mostly car amp dyno testing
