@Raza Mughal hello, my brother, I respect the sunni belief... but there's events that happened in history that can't be ignored. We have to be with who's right and not be with everyone. Why did Ayisha fight against the imam Ali in the battel of camel? We have to seek the truth and side with it.

I really enjoyed this lecture. I am what is referred to as a revert to Islam. I live in a area of the US with a very small Muslim community. Essentially I found islam by researching islam online listening to various speakers. So clarification in an unbiased way was very helpful. Mashallah I'm thankful for this lecture alhamdulillah.

One example is he claims Shia believe all Sahaba conspired to prevent Ali becoming Caliph. Like it is far fetched. But Shia don't claim it like that he put his biased spin on it. There some other Sahaba who believe it should be Ali. Remember Malik was killed by Khalid bin Waleed.
Also Ansar wanted caliphate but Umar got in fight at saqifa.
Other words no we don't say all conspired we say many remained silent out fear or others biases, some believed in Ali & some conspired.
Once they went round demanding allegiance claiming Muslims agreed who was going to stand against them when they killed others.
Also he claim Umar never threatened to burn house of Fatima in the Sunni view.
It is in their own hadiths! It might not be know to their followers but it is known without doubt he went to Fatima house & also they took fadak. No debate on these to those who are honest. Some Sunni scholars admit it & make excuses for it.

Now that is a big point but what does he mention imam needs to be descendent of Ali (as). At least say why, don't mislead others to make them think the Shia made it an Hereditary thing like a monarchy. No the real the criteria is Allah chosen them for their characters & attributes. Not any descendent of Ali can be an imam it is very misleading. Common attack on Shia accusing it to be like monarchy Hereditary when Imam were the most knowledgeable of their time. regardless of their lineage this was essential characteristics but see ones he mentions misleading bias.

Surah Fussilat 41 : 37 prohibiting muslim to worship sky objects (sun, moon, stars) is recited by Muhammad (because he's illiterate) 3-5 years (AD 613-615) after he proclaimed as a prophet of allah in AD 610. He copied the Jews' Tanak (Bible: the Old Testament) Exodus 20 : 4, Deuteronomy 4 : 19 & 17 : 3 that Yahweh, the God of Israel that's worshiped by Abraham, Ishaq & Yakub, forbids the Israelites to worship sky objects but Q 6 : 77 muslims used to worship the moon goddess 🌙 & Q 53 : 49 Sirius the brightest star used to be Allah.
William Tisdall says in his book "The Original Sources of the Qur'an - Its Origin In Pagan Legends and Mythology" during that time Muhammad followed some of Jewish's, Christian's & the Sabian belief and practices. At that time he was still befriended wth them. He had access to Jewish's, Christian's & the Sabians (ancient people of Mesopotamia (nowadays Iraq) until Syria) scriptures. He admitted the rightful Inhibitans of Israel in the Palestinian's land (Quran 5: 20-26), Jews & Christian are good friends. They'll go to heaven., but quran 5:82 to hate the Jews but Christians are the kindest to muslim, fight & slaughter the Jews (Sahih Muslim, Book 41, Hadith 6981 & 6985), quran 5:14 to hate Christians, quran 9:29 to fight theJews & Christias, 5 : 51, 1 : 7 the Christians & Jews are the cursed ones. Muhammad ordered muslims to pray 5x/ day to curse them, the Pact of Omar in AD 717, allah turned the Jews into pigs & monkeys Q 2 : 65 & 5 : 60, 7 : 163, rats are made from the Jews Sahih Al Bukhari, book 54, Hadith 524, cut the neck & fingers of the disbelievers Q 8 : 12 & 47 : 3 - 4, to kill the non muslims Sahih Al Bukhari Vo. I, p. 13, Q 9 : 14, to wipe out non muslims Q 6 : 44 - 45 & many more.
The turning point is in AD 624. Muhammad wanted to be accepted as their new prophet (the Jew were waiting for their Masiah & the Christian were waiting for the coming of Christ for the 2nd time). When they rejected him he turned against them. Muhammad quarrelled with the Jews in AD 624 in Medina. Muhammad chased, killed & expelled them out of the Arabian Peninsula.... W. Tidall, p. 39. In the same page says in the same year Muhammad performed his 1st 'Idu'l Adha. While the Jews slaughtered lambs Muhammad slaughtered 2 kids. One for his people & one for himself.

@@Maricove_y me personally i'm still learning about sunni vs shia brother but i think a big difference between sunnism and shi'ism besides imamate and sahaba is that shia are more critical of hadith. majority of hadith are compiled by fallible people, people who can make mistakes. however because twelver shia believe in the infallibility of the imams, if an imam is within any chain of transmission of a hadith they can be sure that it is true. so i would say shia are definitely more critical of hadith and it makes sense as they are not leaving their faith up to chance and possibility but rather what they can be sure is true and intended from allah swt. but of course one must first believe the imams are infallible to hold this belief.
me personally i am learning about shi'ism, i was introduced to islam as a whole through sunnism, but some aspects of shi'ism like the critical view of hadith makes a lot of sense to me. however there are some theological arguments which can be brought up to question the imams. inshallah we all find the truth and may allah be pleased with our efforts. ameen

@@moinejaz2804 Dear Brother, I understand your concerns about disrespectful behavior and spreading fitna (discord) among the Muslim community. It is essential to me to promote unity, mutual respect, and understanding among Muslims, regardless of our differences. Insulting or disrespecting the Sahaba (companions of the Prophet Muhammad) is indeed inappropriate and goes against the teachings of Islam. The Sahaba hold a special place in Islamic history, as they were close companions of the Prophet, and they played a crucial role in spreading and preserving the message of Islam.
It is crucial to remember that Islam emphasizes respect for all individuals, including the Sahaba, and discourages divisive language or actions that can lead to disunity within the Muslim community. Instead of focusing on our differences, I believe that we should strive to foster an environment of compassion, tolerance, and open dialogue, so we can learn from one another and grow together as a unified ummah.
I personally agree with the sentiment that we should all seek guidance from Allah, and may He guide us to love and respect the Sahaba and the Ahl al-Bayt (the Prophet's family). By promoting unity, love, and respect within the ummah, I believe that we can work together to strengthen our faith and positively impact the world around us. May Allah guide us all and grant us the wisdom to treat one another with kindness and compassion. Ameen.
Furthermore, I respect my personal beliefs and upbringing, which forbid me from associating with extremists on either side. Striving for a balanced and moderate approach is commendable, and it is essential for me to distance myself from any form of extremism that could harm the unity and cohesion of the Muslim community.
I also recognize that ignorance and a lack of education can contribute to the spread of fitna and misunderstandings among Muslims. It is crucial for me as an individual and for the community to seek knowledge, engage in open discussions, and learn from authentic sources to gain a better understanding of our faith.
Regarding the reliability of some hadith, I acknowledge that it is a valid scholarly viewpoint to question the historical accuracy of certain narrations. The process of hadith transmission and authentication was complex, and there is a possibility that some fabricated or unreliable hadith may have been circulated for various reasons, including political motives. Therefore, I believe it is crucial to rely on trusted scholars and reputable sources when studying and understanding the hadith literature.
In addressing fitna and promoting unity, I believe that we should emphasize the teachings of Islam that encourage compassion, forgiveness, and tolerance. Engaging in respectful discussions and seeking common ground can bridge gaps and foster harmony within the Muslim ummah.
By staying informed, learning from reputable sources, and rejecting extreme views, I believe that we can actively work towards a more cohesive Muslim community based on love, respect, and understanding. Let us pray for guidance and wisdom from Allah, seeking the truth in all matters and striving to build a united ummah that upholds the true values of Islam. May Allah guide us and grant us the strength to navigate the challenges we face. Ameen.

@@moinejaz2804 I agree. The shia scholars of the highest eminence such as Ayatullah Sistani condemn cursing the revered companions by sunni's. Shaytan worshiped Allah for 6000 years and one of his sajdah's was for 2000 years. However, when it came down to bowing to Adam (a.s) he disobeyed God and went astray. Similarily, we believe Abu Bakr went astray due to being power hungry and went astray. Please do note that I am not doing takfir on Abu Bakr.

When they rejected him he turned against them. Muhammad quarrelled with the Jews in AD 624 in Medina. Muhammad chased, killed & expelled them out of the Arabian Peninsula.... W. Tidall, p. 39. This was an incisive and empathic delineation of the key differences between our sunni and shia brothers/sisters. Surely the most sensible way forward is one of pragmatic tolerance, continued dialogue, and as the community of Iqraa', furthering our edification and understanding of the palpable differences and similarities between us. In times of polarization, postmodernism and anti-Muslim pogroms (both real life and virtual), we must work together in the spirit of the Most Merciful and our most merciful habib, our beloved Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and all that follow him.

@@lady7 There are a majority of Hadith in all Sunni books of Hadith that contradict each other. Many Sunni Hadith agree about Shia beliefs. Because of Shaitan, the Sunni's have subconsciously forgot about them "...It was none but Satan who made me forget..."(18:63) Shaytan causes forgetfulness.
Don't forget that Aisha sinned against Allah when she disobeyed a direct Quranic command "And stay in your houses and do not display your finery like the displaying of the ignorance of yore" as she rode into the Battle of the Camel.(33:33)
Logic and common sense say that the Shia's are correct in all their belief. But Allah gave you an intellect that is lower than mine so I cannot be against you. It is not your fault that you are this way. I love you the same as any other Muslim. It's like a father and his disobedient child. If you have studied theology you still know much. Let's me give you the stance of a very lenient pro unity shia cleric, sheikh Arif says there no doubt that Umar came and threatened the door of Fatimah. Virtually all shia believe this even those who don't believe in the attack. Yassir Qadhi denied it in their sources now that true at all.
He made plenty of other biased comments. I really don't know what you were watching. I am all for unity but let at be honest not totally suck up to anyone who gone from calling shia kaffirs to actually having some tolerences. Yes it good thing but he still takes pot shots on the shia view and is clearly biased. Comments like yours will deceive the shia who really don't know anything. They will believet everything Yassir Qadhi said was true. Well it wasn't.

    • @Shia.Ahlulbayt
      @Shia.Ahlulbayt 2 года назад

35:57 Here little example of his subtle bias but is very misleading to those who don't know much. He portrays the shia view that all the senior sahaba conspired. We don't say that all we say it was few of them that started it at saqifah and argued it with Ansar at first. There was even fight and threats. They were quick to take bayt from many after through intimidation as they went round demanding it. Such as going to Imam Ali house and demanding it.
He portraying as we have far fetched view all conspired. No not really many just remained silent like ansar, some didn't give bayt like Ammar, Salaman, Abu Dhar, Miqdad, Billa, ibn Abbas, Zubayr, Abbas, Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman, Malik ibn Nuwayrah who was killed etc, many had enmity against Imam Ali because they lost family in battles of badr, uhud etc so they were not going to defend Imam Ali right.
It not as he making he giving the shia view incorrectly now if that just his bias or his lack of knowledge of shia it is not right either way.
But I don't understand why you theology expert can't see his bias. I am not going back to pick all his biased ways he portrayed it but there are more no doubt even in the comments you can see.

His comments at about 36 minutes in are the key issue: both sides are ultimately working with historical narratives that contradict one another. And we easily forget that no one alive today was there to witness the events that are described in these books. As a convert to Islam who picked up a copy of the Qur’an- or rather, an explanation of it- making sense of this conflict, which is based on events described outside of the Qur’an, has been a real ordeal. It means being reborn i to a broken family. Everyone insists that their side is correct (naturally) but if we’re brutally honest, both sides are, for the most part, following what was passed down to them. Both stories were told to me at about the same time and not passed down from my family over centuries. At this point in my “career” as a Muslim, I say “aleyhisalam” when talking about the Ahlul Bayt but guess what? So did Imam Bukhari. I mourn Hussein (as) every Muharram, but not to the point of, say, thinking it’s not a good idea to get married during that month. I also say “radhiullahu anhu” to Abu Bakr, Umar and Uthman, who were also members of the Prophet’s (S) family by marriage and, in Abu Bakr’s (ra) case, an ancestor of the sixth Imam, Jafar Sadiq (ra)- who was apparently a teacher of Imam Abu Hanifa. I hope to be able to study these issues more in depth but in the meantime, although there were some details that differed from what Shi’i brothers have told me, the Sheikh did a good job of addressing this and I will keep him my dua. May Allah reward him, and guide him and guide me and all of us. And with this issue especially, it’s good to remember to say “Allahu alim”. Salams from Utah (Which, on a far lighter note, I affectionately refer to as “Mormonistan”).

Peace be upon you. As a revert to Islam myself I commend your efforts to make sense of a very sensitive and partisan issue. your background will stand you in good stead compared to a born Muslim who has family and society to worry about. You are simply after the truth and are not motivated by family heritage or any other legacy issues. You are fortunate to have found out about the Ahlulbayt, Imam Hussain and the Karbala so early on in your journey. I was Muslim for over 16 Years before I found out about Karbala, Imam Hussain, or even heard the term Ahlulbayt. I spent an entire year studying the differences in depth and alhamdulillah I chose to follow the path of Ahlulbayt. I had been sunni for most of my adult life so I have spent time in various communities/sects such as sufis, Tableeghis and even Deboandis. May Allah bring you and all of us back to Quran and Ahlulbayt - Wa Salaam
