I just watched a segment on cbs Sunday morning about willie Nelson. Watching it made me think of Neil Young and to my amazement I found them together. This is awesome

Willie tells a story about playing with Paul Simon--I think it was for "American Tune" (can't recall if it was for a live show or recording)--and as they were practicing, Paul kept cutting in with "You're late, Willie." After a few of those, Willie stopped and kindly said, "I've been late my whole life, Paul. It'll be fine." :) I've always loved the way he lets the lyrics wander off the rhythm, only to swoop back in and catch the beat. It's common in blues. Reminds me of Ray Charles and Albert King. The downside is that it makes simultaneous duets pretty much impossible (or bad). If he trades off lyrics, it's fantastic, because his singular voice both complements and contrasts with so many other kinds.

Well, last night I posted some things to some farm aid videos on my facebook site. I was thinking about what Erin Brockovich said in regards to the FL sinkhole....and as much as I love Bob Wills, we dont need any more dusty skies. One things for sure, we definately dont need any more of that damn monsanto. This is not farming, this is a disgrace to humanity and the destruction of mother earth. So I wrote this: Farm aid needs to expand, provide an education program for farmers whose pineal glands are calcified. The education program could be qualification for the financial aid, that way money wont wind up in the hands of lazy asses who piss it away on miller high life. In order to pass the exam, you must be able to name 3 medicinal flowers from George Washingtons garden and upon inspection must have no less than 50 varieties of plants going at one time.
To truly appreciate how awful this rendition of this song is, search utube for this same song sung by Neil with the International Harvesters at Austin City Limits, many many years earlier.
