    For the most part, I absolutely love my ‘19 Insight. I agree, much better looking than any other Honda sedan. I get about 48 mpg combined but, I have a lead foot so I’m elated! The CVT takes a little getting used to not having fear changes. The button gear shifter is no big deal. I’m about 250 pounds and the seats are very comfy even on a long 8 hour drive! The technology is awesome! The only three things I am disappointed with are the fact that it doesn’t have chimes to indicate blind spot interference, it does not come with back up sensors besides the backup camera and lastly, maybe I’m too rough but the Continental tires it came with aren’t very durable. I’ve never had so many flats with any other brand. Sometimes a quick look to the front while backing up can cause you to miss a person or object behind you.
    My wife says the Civic tail lights make the car look like the Hamburglar from McDonald’s old promos...especially when the vehicle is black!!

    I was going to say, I actually like the push button drive system. It's convenient and operates smoothly (if not as quickly as conventional transmissions). A lot of car reviewers tout their personal opinions as negatives which can really discredit the overall review. That's why the best car reviewers give us facts and figures. In this case he's just wrong because the insight doesn't even have a transmission. I'm sure he was just saying that because of his limited knowledge of the car, but still, if you're going to review it speak intelligently about it. A real con would be something like the limited rear seat headroom. Also its a tad contradictory to say a trunk vs. a hatchback is "weird and bold", yet your number 1 reason to buy it is because it doesn't "look" like a hybrid, which historically means hatchback style.

      There is no CVT. There is no actual transmission in the Insight. Most of the time, an electric motor is directly powering the front wheels. Above certain speeds, the engine is connected to the wheels via a clutch and a single gear reduction.

    • @tjhouston1280
      @tjhouston1280 6 лет назад

      difflocktwo first of all I get better gas mileage. Second I can see better out of a car because I’ve had problems seeing out of SUVs because I’m smaller than others. 3rd I do not need all that space and you’re finding a way to criticize me about what I spend my money on then we need to have a chat. I don’t need all that space. My Chevy Malibu has all the space I need. It’s trunk is big as hell and lord knows it has a lot of leg room. Look if it ain’t a Tahoe, Yukon, or Cadillac I don’t want it. If it isn’t a GM, tesla, Chrysler dodge Jeep Ram, or Honda suv I’m not looking for it. Literally that is too much space for one person unless you have a big family and I don’t plan on having that for YEARS! Only reason I’ll have an SUV is to look good (since it being a Cadillac) and to tow and haul like an truck was literally meant for from the beginning. But see I’m not rich so I’m sticking with sedans.

      How is it not considered a hybrid. It recovers braking energy that can be used to assist the engine immediately after. Just because the actual energy storage is very limited doesn't mean it's not a hybrid. The prius (Not the prime) has the exact same 1 mile range.

      The normal looking Camry hybrid is in a completely different class. If you want a a hybrid compact then it's insight vs prius

      Andrey Starovoytov you're right it is funky looking... But I've come to the realization it has a purpose. It's shaped like a cheese wedge to slip thru the air efficiently. But any way you put it it can go much farther on electric only mode

    Ew don’t put a Prius next to that car. The new insight is worlds better than that bucket of shit.

      I don't F#$%ing want an EV, I want a hybrid... Preferably non-plug in. I don't see Tesla doing that. Besides Tesla's have reliability issues.

      How? Honda has much more income because all their cars are volume sellers and affordable starters for everyone.

    Hideous. Honda is dead set on designing some of the ugliest cars on the market. That damn chrome unibrow up front has got to stop.

      Cayden Michael I think this is Honda's best design bar none. This goes to show you manufacturers are lazy AF! look at the hideous accords exterior. Looks like the designer ran out of brain and fkd up the whole car lol

      ImportsRule007 I hate the Accord, too. Hate the Civic and I don’t think this Insight is attractive either. All are hideous. Literally every vehicle in Honda’s lineup is awful.

      Eh, I think it's quite normal looking. I don't mind the "sky-wing" signature chrome bar but this definitely looks better than an Accord or a Pruis. All a matter of perspective 😉
