I have a question. I have a 2005 nissan Altima and just replaced the radio with an aftermarket one. I replaced the ground so its grounded properly. Now everytime I shut the car off i blow the radio fuse.....what is the correct fuse size is that supposed to be in there? It has a 10 amp in it now

I have a Pioneer AVH-210EX that I'm trying to install into my 06 Altima.Do you have any idea what type of electrical or butt connector I should use.
i just use regular red 20-22 guage butt connectors. nothing special honestly if you splice the wire tie them together properly and electrical tape them that works to i have a video on how to wire up a radio that may help you out. ruclips.net/video/T1Av3dKGN_4/видео.html

Can you tell me the screen size of that stereo? My daughter has an 05 and I want to help her get one. It looks really nice man.
It’s a 7 inch screen I believe most cars fit them
How did you ground it? I know Nissan uses the antenna as some sort of ground. I've had a pioneer double din headunit in it before and yes it was a rats nest and after cleaning it up some, I plugged in the adapter harness back into the radio and my fuse keeps blowing (the 10amp inside the radio) I can't seem to figure it out. I've taken a mulimeter to the ground and constant and it reads fine. Maybe the headunit is toast?
Maybe something with power is touching the subframe bar behind the unit that I used for grounding, should I re route the grounding cable to another location in the car. It's a beater at this point and the previous owner was a " Electrician" and cut into so many things. I was thinking maybe if I could just get through the basic essentials to powering on the unit I could maybe figure everything else out. I wouldn't mind routing in some new wiring from the battery with an inline fuse of course and ditching the factory harness all together of course only for the power not the remote or anything else.
wow. on most nissan's they dont not provide a proper ground at the harness or any ground at all so i usually just ground it to a piece of metal behind the dash and make sure that the wires arent pinched anywhere that could cause a short but you shouldnt have to re route anything
JPtheinstallguy I purchased a replacement headunit. It's working fine, turns out it was my pioneer avh 1500dvd that shit the bed and kept drawing in too much power when plugged in (shorted). Thanks for the reply.
