You guys are hilarious and helpful! Thanks so much. My '96 XLT needed this job and now she's getting it done!

Hi Cris, always watching your videos, they are very helpful and interesting. I always wondered why this tail gate was sooooooo heavy but in some videos seeing kids and women closing it. Now I know, ours doesn't have this spring.
Can you tell me where we can find and buy it. We open our tailgate at least 8 x times per day when going out with our dogs. Thank you

Thanks for making this video man. The problem is that I cant find a non worn out torsion bar anywhere. I did find a hinge helper that compatible with 5th gen broncos. I dont have the link but the f150s have a version of this too. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Im working on this now, thank you for uploading this vid. I just need some clarification on the tailgate. Are you able to remove the tailgate with the bumper ON? Some other videos say it has to come off. Whats the best way to do it? I just got my new tailgate painted and I dont want to screw it up. thx boss

You can remove the TG with bumper on. Just cover it to protect tailgate and get help. Removing bumper is simple though if your worries. Safe using 3 people. Tg weights 100 pounds fully dressed.

Do these torsion bars work in f150s?
