No permit required but most of the area is game lands and you can’t technically camp on them. When the river is low you can get on some sandbars which is legal.
Ya did pretty well catching a good many fish..ive only caught one bowfin back in the 1970.s out of a pond at that time we didnt know what kind of a fish it was till my cousin.s father in law told us.we fished a pond that his father owned..never caught anymore there just not common fish here in maryland where i fish at anyway.catch ya on the next vid Cheer.s ron.....
They are kind of a double edge sword around here. We have a bunch and they can be a lot of fun to catch but on the other hand they will steal your catfish bait haha. Pretty incredible fish though when you read about them. As always, thanks for watching!
What's your rig setup? Are your sinkers getting snagged in the rocks? Btw, i appreciate you utubers not revealing fishing spots, because if you do then everybody and their brothers will be there ruining a good spot. Either figure it out or find your own spots!
They get snagged some. Big I’ve found is use heavy lead so it doesn’t move and when you real in have a real with a good retrieval ratio so you can get it up and over the rocks.
Fishing here tomorrow good content keep it up
Appreciate it!
Was this in lillington??
@@cmfsonny3098 no that is a good ways above lillington.
@@nccatfishing so where is this located??
One of my favorite places in NC to fish for cats. It’s great for small crafts.
It really is a great place. Like its own little world out there.
What time of year was this ? Fished there last night 7/16/22 and missed 1 on (assuming channel, since I put a live crawfish) other that it was dead
I want to say it was filmed in October. Been a while though so not 100 percent positive.
Hey man is there a permit you need to stay the night there? Or can you just pick a spot on the bank and setup camp?

I’ve caught some big cats out there. I’ve also caught some gar and striped bass. I know that white swim baits close to the dam is really good.
Yeah it’s a really diverse area to fish plus it’s just a beautiful place.
Looked like fun! Keep up the content.
I certainly will. Thanks for watching!

I go up there once in a while.
