    Ahh the memories of my misspent youth. My first band, with me on lead vocals, used to perform a few Deep Purple songs, this was one of them. I was a very fine imitator of Gillan including the high falsetto on Child in Time, what I’d give to do that now in my late 60’s.
    Thank you Harri for bringing back these classics.

    From the 1973 album, " Who Do We Think We are"? Fabulous song from Deep Purple.
    One of the first British bands to play in Japan in the 70's, this song was written with the Japanese imagery,of a rising sun, before the tour. This is about a Japanese lady who drove the men wild. It reach Number 60 0n the Billboard Hot 100's chart. It has an exhilarating, memorable tiff that penetrates your soul. Fantastic memory. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Miss Blondie. 👏👏 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

    The Purple is well know for being a hard rocking band, but what people don't often mention is the supremely crafted songs written by top tier musicians. Lord on keys is one of the best ever, alongside the greats like Wakeman and Emerson. Then you've got a great guitarists in Blackmore, and top notch rhythm section of Paice and Glover.

    • @BeeLineEast
      @BeeLineEast Год назад +2

      Just before Jon Lord passed away Rick Wakeman and Jon Lord did a jam together. It was at the Sunflower jam. You may already have heard about it but I thought I would mention it if you didn't know about it.

    The similarities between Blackmore's riffs from "Smoke on the Water" and "Woman From Tokyo" have led to debates about which riff is better. "Smoke" came first and is definitely in the top tier of rock riffs of all time but Jon Lord's keyboards in tandem with Ritchie's guitar make "Tokyo" the more impactful one for me. Hat tip to Frank Zappa for inspiring both. LOL. Thanks Miss B. and Harri.
