Great talent in this band. One of the best Deep Purple songs.Drumming is awesome. Jon Lord Kills his Hammond on this song. Thanks Greybeard for suggesting this one.
Absolutely my favorite Deep Purple song! It was released when I was 17 years old, and I became my parents worst nightmare at that time with the loud music coming from my bedroom!
In those early days of Deep Purple Mk 2 they performed a lot of unrecorded songs on the road and when they went into the studio they were really tight . Ian Gillan's line " Once I had a dream to sing for the Queen , she didn't to know , she wouldn't see the show " is I think a reference to the Concerto performed by Purple and the Royal Phil. Orch. in late 1969 at the Albert Hall .
Smoke on the Water Hush Kentucky Woman Highway Star Deep Purple always a treat for your ears. Just a great band that takes you where you want it to go. The instruments are exceptional. Love this. Thanks Harri and The GreyBearded Music Man.🥁🥁🥁🥁 Great reaction. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
amazing performance of the all band paice is doing a superb and excellent drumming ,no band can play that fast ,combining the all instruments ,in a perfect harmony and timing ,well harri to my opinion you are the best reactor on you tube because you feel the music and the intensity of deep purple ,enjoying your reaction keep on doing the excellent job .if you want some m9ore controlled chose of deep purple try to go on speed king ,and rat bat blue many thanks joseph isreal
On the Fireball lp. Is a cool and funny song ,and im sure the gray bearded music man would agree to is ''Anyone's Daughter '' We Thank you Harri for your good work and dedication.
From the same album you should react to Hard Lovin' Man. That'll rip you a new one! The other Deep Purple song I would recommend is No No No from the Fireball album ... subtle at the start and explosive at the end. My favourite Purple song!
This is one of the few hard rock groups I enjoyed in the 60's-70's. You've done quite a few of their songs already. My favorites are their covers of Joe South's "Hush" & Neil Diamond's "Kentucky Woman". Also like "Woman From Tokyo", "Fireball", Speed King", "Space Truckin'" etc.
Harri, Did you know Deep Purple got their name from a number one song from 1963. Deep Purple was a song sung by Nino Tempo and April Stevens and was a favourite of one of the Grandma's of a band member. That's how Deep Purple got it's name. Could Be a reaction for you. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
The Nino Tempo/April Stevens version was released in 1963 but the song was first published in 1933. To be honest I'm not certain which version Ritchie's Nan liked but most folks mention the one from 1963.
Wow, Dude, You were right on with that review! In fact, I kinda envy you because if, in fact, that WAS the first time you heard that, it was like getting your cherry popped by the finest woman in the land, and it showed in your face as you listened, too. I know I feel it every time I hear it for the 10,000-ish time. I actually traded one of my favorite albums for “Deep Purple In Rock” in 1972 and that song has been one of my favorites ever since. Lots of good Rock &Roll, Blues, Funk, and Jazz out there, enough for all of us to last a lifetime. Happy motoring in the future, which is already in progress!
Probably my favorite song on this classic album. I particularly like the moment where the organsolo gives way to the guitarsolo, give from wild and loud to that more moderate solo (just that moment..the guitar gets wild soon enough).
Great reaction Harri!! Ian Paice is a very underrated drummer in my opinion. When you get an opportunity check out Deep Purple's "The Mule". Ian does a long drum solo that is absolutely killer. ruclips.net/video/DE_oi-mhOA8/видео.html
My first "favorite" from DP. When I first heard it, I had to get home to figure out that great guitar riff (with the triplets). Such fun. Those were the days.
Love Deep Purple, takes me back 😻🎶💜 Check out Eric Burdon & The Animals at the Monterey Music Festival ‘67 singing ‘ Monterey’ ( video on LuckysMusic site) seeing all the musicians he mentions Hugh Maskela playing trumpet , the Who, didn’t see Janis J perhaps she was getting ready to do her thing & be discovered 🥰 at Monterey, loved seeing Jimi H sitting in the audience grooving & probably waiting for his gig , 💜💜💜🎸🎶🤩 Another of the psychedelic era is Iron Butterfly 🦋 In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida ( a very long recording) these guys are from another galaxy 🎸🥁🎹🎶🦋☮️
Glad you choosing lots of dedp purple. My reguest is for you to put on those beadphones on andtake a wild trip with space trucking live from made in japan. 5 musicians and the top of their games jamming an encore like no one else. Driving none stop drums 4 20 minues. Th3 great jon lord doing what only he could do. Sounds you didnt even were possible. Slick guitar played with violin bow. Just close your eyes and alter ur minds!
Deep Purple's best album? Better than Machine Head? Hell yes! Just got more consistently excellent songs on it. Since no-one else seems to have mentioned it this is an anti drug song.
Unfortunately Deep Purple never played this track live ! It could have been something in concert but Ritchie Blackmore has often vetoed some of the band's songs in the tracklist. go figure...!
They actually did play it live one time, but they didn't get the reaction from audience that they thought so they concluded that FOTR doesn't work live. It would be great if they tried it once more, but I don't think Gillan will choose to do that.
@@larteonceagain Anyway, Ian Gillan has been struggling with his voice for forty years so I'd be surprised too if he attempt this track ! (The band no longer plays "Child in Time" for this same reason).
Yep, that was several year ago they played it. Ritchie used to be a bit mean to Gillan. When he said to the band that I have a sour throat tonight so no Child In Time, Ritchie used to start the song anyway and Gillan was forced to sing.
@@larteonceagain Yes, Blackmore did this kind of nasty thing regularly to his bandmates (well, especially to Gillan and also to Glover offstage who were both downright patient to say the least !).
The best song of Deep Purple "the flight of the rat", the best álbum ever "Purple in Rock".
In Rock is top tier! One of the best rock albums of all time!
The song is so long and beautiful. It's like the all band played with out limits their Best. Thanks

"In Rock". A PIONEER album, new sounds, effects, solos, riffs, etc. etc. from top musicians. Huge influential for the following years
One of the best Jon Lord solo, that means one of the greatest hammond solo ever...
From a great album...
Another great choice Greybeard. So many great songs.☮️
Your a cool graceful guy - have a good one😊
That was quite a journey, one only the likes of Deep Purple can take you on.
Absolutely my favorite Deep Purple song! It was released when I was 17 years old, and I became my parents worst nightmare at that time with the loud music coming from my bedroom!

Please note: The drummer (Ian Paice) did NOT use a double bass drum or a double pedal. His kit was kinda small (bass, 2xmounted toms, 1 floor tom).
Their best album

indeed on this Deep Purple in rock album there is a secret trick sound, for example on the hard lovin man song there is the sound of a giant disc
