What is more IRRITATING is that there's a whole market of foreigners interested in understanding India on youtube, while these 2nd gen or 3rd gen NRI desi people will display a full fledged event of how they dislike their desi identity. Their desi heritage probably embarrasses them, the means/media they use to inform themselves about India are not of help either. I'm pretty sure the little idea they have about India is through those biased sources like vox/the guardian/NY times/VICE. These sources gonna say India is actually on pluto, and they're gonna believe it.
I have liked suraj in so many other videos, he's smart, but god he is ignorant about India. This hasn't been the first time Suraj has randomly said some dumb stuff about India. But Suraj was the one I liked, I expected better from him. I'm not interested in watching this channel anymore. It's ironic that these 2 desis were spreading misinformation, while the other two non-desis knew MORE THAN them _(when they mentioned Don & 3 idiots, both movies being around 15yrs old)._
I don't know why SO MANY 2nd/3rd gen NRIs behave like that, it must be related to the image they have of India & the self hate that comes with that. If you guys are reading this, it's absolutely fine if you don't care about your desi heritage( you probably hate it), it's fine if it's not attractive to you. BUT PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, STOP trying to speak for India with your random inaccurate information. Just say that you don't know much about your desi heritage, DON'T go on word vomitting just because you can do that since your parents were from the subcontinent. If you're a foreigner, then act like one. DON'T misuse the name sake desi qualification to claim the right to speak for India, you don't have that right.

21:37 buddy i expect you to know this, this is our history, Legend Sir Bhagat singh, didn't want anybody to get hurt so he threw the bomb in diff direction, he gave the naara(voice) "Ki agar ye sarkar behri ho gayi hai, use uthane or jagane ke liye ye awaj(explosion sound) kiya hai hmne" these are not exact words, but something almost like this. So, he was a revolutionary as he said in the movie.
21:39 There are many things you won't agree or think is right in this now carefree world. But I bet no one in the current world would be able to endure 10 percent of what these people went through at that time. And they did what was needed to be done. Be it wrong or not. There's a saying in Mahabharat the epic, "Sometimes you have to do something wrong for the greater good."
And still the bombs they threw were thrown in a place where no one was present. It only produced sound and smoke and no real damage. When throwing a real one at their faces might've shown them much earlier, that we don't fear them. But Bhagat Singh still thought about their lives and instead chose to do something symbolic without harming people.
Never heard anyone say they didn't like this because it has no musical numbers lol. Only seen a few people say they didn't like the non linear narration, but it's a rare opinion.
I'm a French fan of Indian cinema, here are a few suggestions for you guys:
*Super Deluxe* (Tamil, hyperlink movie that will blow your mind 😊)
*Kumbalangi Nights* (Malayalam, a unique drama)
*Sarpatta Parambarai* (Tamil, boxing movie based on real events)
*Udta Punjab* (Hindi, drama/dark comedy about drugs in Punjab)
*Minnal Murali* (1st super hero movie of Malayalam cinema, released last December)
*My Name Is Khan* (Hindi, social drama)
*Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara* (Hindi, comedy drama/road trip)
*Andhadhun* (Hindi, thriller/dark comedy)
*KGF* (Kannada, action/masala)
*Baahubali 1&2* (Telugu, medieval epic/fantasy)
A country of 1.2 billion individuals doesn't have the same taste and preferences when it comes to movies. In India, thousands of films are made every year and not only in the Hindi film industry but the other regional film industries as well. To club them all together is just plain ignorance.

Shashi Tharoor's speech at the oxford debate is very eye-opening also. You guys can also react to that if you want to.
Nice choice, and that's incorrect information that Indians didn't liked it , they loved it...
Soliders were not Indians. They were Gurkhas (a community of Nepal known for their brutal and fierce soldiers). British used them for such acts because they didn't have any connection (and hence sympathy) towards India.
No one would commit such a naked brutality against their own people - no matter how selfish they are.
This movie portrayed only a fraction of how evil British colonialism was. They would strap soldiers/officers to cannons and blow them up for not following orders. They would force women and children into their army's prostitution camps. They would send people to Cellular jail in Andaman and Nicobar islands without trail and torture them. There British soldiers went on raping sprees and wiped out an island of 15000 people by spreading syphilis. Most insidious part of it all was dividing places like Bengal, Punjab in Muslim and Hindu majority parts and then amplifying hatred among them.
Also, at 9:20 when Dawyer talks about White Mans Burden, hes referencing the poem written by Rudyard Kipling, the guy who wrote The Jungle Book stories and someone who was born and raised in India. Kipling hailed Dyer as the "savior of India" and donated money towards a fund he allegedly started for his benefit.
SURAJ...NO INDIAN EVER SAID HE/SHE DIIDN'T LIKE THIS MOVIE COZ IT'S NOT A TYPICAL MOVIE WITH SONG AND DANCE...WHAT U'VE HEARD IS WRONG BRO!
Sorry not sure who told me this but there were a couple people in my friend circle that said it! They were wrong!
56:36, the only reason they pulled it from Oscars, and the reason why RRR was was not well received in England, is that same reason why Reporters were not allowed to cover the real story of Udham singh vs The Crown. Just think about it, nothing has changed. Britishers of this generation still have the looted relics from their colonies and they so proudly showcase them at their museums. Queen's cepter still has the largest diamond from Africa and her crown still has the Kooh-e-noor diamond (And yes its called Kooh-e-noor not Kohinoor). I mean forget accepting their crimes, which were much more inhumane if not equal than hitler, instead many of the new generation of England thinks Imperialism is good. But the irony is, their forefathers were shit scared of Hitler taking over their land. They even shook hands with Red army and later they let him get slaughtered and raced towards Berlin to collect the "Victory over Evil". The same evil Hitler who used "Hooked cross " as his symbol(yes, its not Swastika, grow a brain plz) and was a religious Christian. But no the west is like, Hitler was bad, Hooked cross is a Swastika, we don't know the meaning of "Gammadian"
Fantastic choice for movie night ! The friend that Shaheed Udham Singh was referring to at the end was not God but Shaheed Bhagat Singh. Shaheed Udham Singh had more faith in love than religion, that's why during the court proceedings he asked for a book titled 'Heer', which is a poetic love story by Waris Shah, instead of any religious book. This film was released directly on Amazon Prime, it did not have a theatrical release so we can't really assume that it wasn't loved by Indians. This movie had a lot of good foreign actors, most of it is in English, but that was just to give it a very authentic look. This film may have a Hollywood feel, but it is very much an Indian film. The writer, director, producer, editor, cinematographer, music composer of this film are Indians. Thank you very much for watching this film. I really hope you watch more Indian films, and in future, please make sure to have Chris and Rana as well. There was another film released last year, apart from this, which could have been sent to the Oscars as India's Official Entry, but wasn't unfortunately, it's called 'The Great Indian Kitchen'. It's a Malayalam language film (from Kerala), but it's theme is universal. The story told by the movie holds true for almost every woman around the world, i would really hope that you guys try out that film as well.

Gandhi wasn't the only person fighting for our independence, Bhagat Singh's revolution raised many to stand in unity and fight back the opressors. And their sacrifice have given our generation the opportunity to practice peace and dharma.
Every Indian remembers the privilege handed to us because of our ancestors. Long live their memory and legacy. We pale in comparison to them. JAI HIND - Karthik
Wtf..i was thinking today that it would be nice if normies react to this film after watching majeliv reaction... what a surprise.. looking forward to ur reaction
Yeah exact same thought...
Ikr!
as we start to hear and learn history from other voices than just the ones selected for us, distinguishing good guys from bad guys is complicated, however it is easy to identify acts of evil like this, another figure the group may want to look into is John Rabe and the Rape of Nanking, there are a few films to choose from
In Asian countries you call every unknown brother ,sister or uncle
Contrary to the cliched remark
Beg to differ...
We Indians have loved this movie...
Why does Suraj look down so much on Indians? This is a mainstream Bollywood movie that was one of the bigger successes of the last few years. Diaspora Indians like him just annoy the f out of me. And India makes as good (if not better) movies than the rest of the world. Try and look beyond your prejudice. @ Suraj
I never said anything to insinuate that I look down on Indians
@@Thenormiesur comments does that job for u
they didn't bomb the whole building, they went into a court-room where a law was been passed for Indians without Indians consent, they threw a low-intensity bomb in the middle where there was nobody because they said their goal is not to kill someone but to make the DEAF British Empire hear. They didn't run-away after that, instead they kept saying slogans & threw leaflets until Police came & then surrendered. U have to understand, these were students
this movie is so emotional,,, had me sobbing especially watching the jallianwala bagh massacre 💔
Perfect time to watch Shashi Tharoor Oxford speech “British does owe reparations” You will get the correct idea of British rule in India.
Must watch!!
You have picked a great movie, this would be an experience for you guys.
since you lot are tapping into bollywood movies you should try Udta Punjab. A movie about drug trafficing in Punjab
This was rejected from Oscars due to hatred towards a country and this has been issued by the critics on public platform
That scene when he collects injured from dead bodies is heart wrenching.
Hitler used to admire what British did in India... so in a way the British did inspire him...
The last scene where he take bath in pond of golden temple, you can see the blood on his body didn't get off, I think that mean he never get off to his trauma, the feeling what he got at that day, it's a beautifully made movie.
The soldiers under the general's command were not indians. Instead they were gorkhas or from nepal. That is how the soldiers were deported across regions so they would not have any attachments or sense of belonging to the commoners.

The west would never let this movie win Oscar

Its Unforgettable @ all time super hit @ Evergreen film for every indian person. 🙏Heartly Salute to shaheed Udham singh ji @ his great @ unforgettable sacrifices.🙏🙏💐💐💐💐💐💐
Where did suraj hear we don’t like this movie?..bro have some credible source..
thats also how they force fed the suffragettes who went on hunger strike
*I am an Indian & i thought this movie was/is a timeless masterpiece.
*it wasn't Udham Singh woh became an atheist at some point,, it was Bhagat Singh.
*ref in the movie,, when Udham Singh asks the scotland yard officer what was he doing when he was 23…Bhagat Singh was hung when he was 23,, hence he asks the officer not to speak of him(Bhagat Singh).
*I'll only speak for myself,, i enjoy both kinds of Indian films…good plain old musical & dance numbers are just fun & easiest way to get entertained & detached from reality for a while,, infact sometimes i miss my old Bollywood dance music & stupidly fun movies. I don't know why we are hell bent on comparing our work with that of Hollywood standards,, i like my Indian movies as is…& i also do enjoy realistic cinema paired with grounded acting as well.
*loved the reaction. 🙃 ʚϊɞ ツ
The JB scene made me cried every fking time...😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
You guys should go for tumbbad next it's just next level masterpiecs
those other poeple he shot were also governors of different region of India !
this is a masterpiece which didnt even make it to the academy awards nominations as our indian jury neglected it
That last sequence was really hard to watch.
I am still in shock that this movie wasn't nominated for Oscar.
They were majority Nepalese gurkha soldiers they did not wanted any soldier to defy the order so they called the Nepalese
Thankyou for the reaction.
I've always watched your reactions. It was great and surprising to see you guys reacting on an Indian movie!
And No the soldiers weren't indians but Gorkhas and also from Afganistan so they were distant. Also Jews were never persecuted in India - infact they took refuge in India and Isreal acknowledges it.
the one in the middle is making me so nuts .... like everyone is crying n into the movie n he is yawning n soon as the movie ends he stood up n went away like he is so dumb ....
Forget about acknowledging the Brutal Incident The Brits Didn't even Acknowledged and Accepted The Movie for Oscar Nominations Citing the movie shows Hatred towards British!
I wonder why 😅
This film is just 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
This white shirt guy is literal definition of coconut...Indians did like the movie..In fact this movie helped many(Including me)to know/remind about Sardar Udham Singh's legacy...
It was not a theater release though which is fine otherwise Censor board would have chopped off half of the movies important parts...😏
Edit: The main reason for pulling it out of Oscar official entry was This movie was exposing the brutality of the Britsh raj & not what the coconut duos are stating here...God!!! Such ignorant people🤦♀️
At least do some research before giving opinion but I do like the lady in the red though she seems like an empath...But those coconuts are bit disappointing in some parts..Anyways hope you coconuts do little bit research before coming up with any opinion...No hate but its quite hard to ignore 😖😏
It's because of the sacrifice of these indian freedom fighters that india got independence in 1947, we built our own education system, created world class institutes like the IITs which leads to the educated and skilled talent pool of human resources and many of them migrated to USA and
Most importantly - the INDIANS origin people in this channel are the children of those successful migrant Indians to USA.
I hope this generation of indian immigrants to USA realises to this and appreciates this sacrifice
Micky has spoken "Taare Zameen Par" it is
the guy on the left from twilight i dont know how cool he is by seeing the blood " he might have practiced a lot to satisfy his vampiric thurst" good work buddy.. i want you to react on your own scene from twilight.😁✌
Thanks for reacting
This movie deserved an Oscar. It deserved to be seen by everyone.
The issue is, the west wants to point and laugh at where India is today, make snide remarks and pass judgements without burdening themselves with the knowledge of how it got here and how much of it was actually out of our hands.
It's the same with China, but China made it a mission to make sure that the west can never ignore or mess with them again,
I live in the district named after Udham Singh. really feel pride on him
One of the best best reactions I have ever watched
Since you guys watched Sardar Udham, would love to see you guys watch Kashmir files
