"Indian ppl didn't like the film coz no singing dancing"
What is more IRRITATING is that there's a whole market of foreigners interested in understanding India on youtube, while these 2nd gen or 3rd gen NRI desi people will display a full fledged event of how they dislike their desi identity. Their desi heritage probably embarrasses them, the means/media they use to inform themselves about India are not of help either. I'm pretty sure the little idea they have about India is through those biased sources like vox/the guardian/NY times/VICE. These sources gonna say India is actually on pluto, and they're gonna believe it.
I have liked suraj in so many other videos, he's smart, but god he is ignorant about India. This hasn't been the first time Suraj has randomly said some dumb stuff about India. I don't really care about mickey, since he's a lost cause, never liked him & I wouldn't expect him to know anything about the Indian subcontinent. But Suraj was the one I liked, I expected better from him. I'm not interested in watching this channel anymore. It's ironic that these 2 desis were spreading misinformation, while the other two non-desis knew MORE THAN them _(when they mentioned Don & 3 idiots, both movies being around 15yrs old)._
I don't know why SO MANY 2nd/3rd gen NRIs behave like that, it must be related to the image they have of India & the self hate that comes with that. If you guys are reading this, it's absolutely fine if you don't care about your desi heritage( you probably hate it), it's fine if it's not attractive to you. BUT PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, STOP trying to speak for India with your random inaccurate information. Just say that you don't know much about your desi heritage, DON'T go on word vomitting just because you can do that since your parents were from the subcontinent. If you're a foreigner, then act like one. DON'T misuse the name sake desi qualification to claim the right to speak for India, you don't have that right.

So, he was a revolutionary as he said in the movie.

21:39 There are many things you won't agree or think is right in this now carefree world. But I bet no one in the current world would be able to endure 10 percent of what these people went through at that time. And they did what was needed to be done. Be it wrong or not. There's a saying in Mahabharat the epic, "Sometimes you have to do something wrong for the greater good."
And still the bombs they threw were thrown in a place where no one was present. It only produced sound and smoke and no real damage. When throwing a real one at their faces might've shown them much earlier, that we don't fear them. But Bhagat Singh still thought about their lives and instead chose to do something symbolic without harming people.

A country of 1.2 billion individuals doesn't have the same taste and preferences when it comes to movies. In India, thousands of films are made every year and not only in the Hindi film industry but the other regional film industries as well. To club them all together is just plain ignorance.

Soliders were not Indians. They were Gurkhas (a community of Nepal known for their brutal and fierce soldiers). British used them for such acts because they didn't have any connection (and hence sympathy) towards India.
No one would commit such a naked brutality against their own people - no matter how selfish they are.

This movie portrayed only a fraction of how evil British colonialism was. They would strap soldiers/officers to cannons and blow them up for not following orders. They would force women and children into their army's prostitution camps. They would send people to Cellular jail in Andaman and Nicobar islands without trail and torture them. There British soldiers went on raping sprees and wiped out an island of 15000 people by spreading syphilis. Most insidious part of it all was dividing places like Bengal, Punjab in Muslim and Hindu majority parts and then amplifying hatred among them.
Also, at 9:20 when Dawyer talks about White Mans Burden, hes referencing the poem written by Rudyard Kipling, the guy who wrote The Jungle Book stories and someone who was born and raised in India. Kipling hailed Dyer as the "savior of India" and donated money towards a fund he allegedly started for his benefit.

56:36, the only reason they pulled it from Oscars, and the reason why RRR was was not well received in England, is that same reason why Reporters were not allowed to cover the real story of Udham singh vs The Crown. Just think about it, nothing has changed. Britishers of this generation still have the looted relics from their colonies and they so proudly showcase them at their museums. Queen's cepter still has the largest diamond from Africa and her crown still has the Kooh-e-noor diamond (And yes its called Kooh-e-noor not Kohinoor). I mean forget accepting their crimes, which were much more inhumane if not equal than hitler, instead many of the new generation of England thinks Imperialism is good. But the irony is, their forefathers were shit scared of Hitler taking over their land. They even shook hands with Red army and later they let him get slaughtered and raced towards Berlin to collect the "Victory over Evil". The same evil Hitler who used "Hooked cross " as his symbol(yes, its not Swastika, grow a brain plz) and was a religious Christian. But no the west is like, Hitler was bad, Hooked cross is a Swastika, we don't know the meaning of "Gammadian"

Fantastic choice for movie night ! The friend that Shaheed Udham Singh was referring to at the end was not God but Shaheed Bhagat Singh. Shaheed Udham Singh had more faith in love than religion, that's why during the court proceedings he asked for a book titled 'Heer', which is a poetic love story by Waris Shah, instead of any religious book. This film was released directly on Amazon Prime, it did not have a theatrical release so we can't really assume that it wasn't loved by Indians. This movie had a lot of good foreign actors, most of it is in English, but that was just to give it a very authentic look. This film may have a Hollywood feel, but it is very much an Indian film. The writer, director, producer, editor, cinematographer, music composer of this film are Indians. Thank you very much for watching this film. I really hope you watch more Indian films, and in future, please make sure to have Chris and Rana as well. There was another film released last year, apart from this, which could have been sent to the Oscars as India's Official Entry, but wasn't unfortunately, it's called 'The Great Indian Kitchen'. It's a Malayalam language film (from Kerala), but it's theme is universal. The story told by the movie holds true for almost every woman around the world, i would really hope that you guys try out that film as well.

1:41 Man, suraj is a sensible guy, but he's so ignorant about his Indian heritage. _"Indian people don't like this movie coz no singing dancing"_ WTF. WHAT IS HE EVEN SAYING? What do these people think bOLLyWoOd mOvieS are? Do they think all bollywood movies are those typical 30yr old siNgiNg dAnciNG stuff?? Does he not know ANYTHING about his indian side? Like he's so wrong and his info is always outdated. I've noticed this with him in various other reactions too. In AOT reactions, when Jean is mourning Marco while cremating him, suraj didn't know wHaT wAs hAppEniNg. Lmao this dude didn't know what cremation was! That's not even a concept about which you can only about if you're Indian, cremation a pretty basic concept. But he didn't know that.
Then in some other reaction, he randomly mentioned that *iN iNdiA, gUyS hOLd eAch oTherS hAndS wHiLe wAlkiNg tOgetHer.* This further confirmed my guess about him that he's one of those typical indian americans who don't know F about India, and usually have vague inaccurate assumptions about it. Because there's a video of some ignorant foreigner online who went to some random beach in southern region of the country or may be mumbai, where he recorded a lot of guys holding hands. No context, nothing.... he just made a video about hOw iNdiAn mEn lOVe tO hOLD hAnds. That's something which is definitely not true for a lot of other regions of the country. And this suraj probably saw that video. No idea where tf does he get his fActS from, sardaar udham not liked by indian audience coz no singing dancing, such a silly statement to make.

This white shirt guy is literal definition of coconut...Indians did like the movie..In fact this movie helped many(Including me)to know/remind about Sardar Udham Singh's legacy...
It was not a theater release though which is fine otherwise Censor board would have chopped off half of the movies important parts...😏
Edit: The main reason for pulling it out of Oscar official entry was This movie was exposing the brutality of the Britsh raj & not what the coconut duos are stating here...God!!! Such ignorant people🤦‍♀️
At least do some research before giving opinion but I do like the lady in the red though she seems like an empath...But those coconuts are bit disappointing in some parts..Anyways hope you coconuts do little bit research before coming up with any opinion...No hate but its quite hard to ignore 😖😏

It's because of the sacrifice of these indian freedom fighters that india got independence in 1947, we built our own education system, created world class institutes like the IITs which leads to the educated and skilled talent pool of human resources and many of them migrated to USA and
Most importantly - the INDIANS origin people in this channel are the children of those successful migrant Indians to USA.
I hope this generation of indian immigrants to USA realises to this and appreciates this sacrifice

This movie deserved an Oscar. It deserved to be seen by everyone.
The issue is, the west wants to point and laugh at where India is today, make snide remarks and pass judgements without burdening themselves with the knowledge of how it got here and how much of it was actually out of our hands.
It's the same with China, but China made it a mission to make sure that the west can never ignore or mess with them again,
