In the 1970s my husband had a killer engineering lab and his partner was from India. At the UW-Madison there was a large enough Indian population they would rent a Bollywood movie and show it in one of the big lecture halls. We were invited and were two of the only non-Indian people there. The movie had English subtitles but we knew they were not exact because everyone would be laughing and we didn't get it, or there would be a long speech and the subtitle would just say "Yes, mother". It was similar to RRR in that it had EVERYTHING, romance, car chases, martial arts, crime and song and dance. Bollywood and Tollywood really give you your money's worth.

If you pay attention to the RRR interval scene, you'll notice that the hand of fire is positioned above the hand of water, indicating that they have never met. This is because water falls down due to gravity, while fire rises due to its lower density. However, in the jail breakout scene, the hands are positioned in the opposite way, with water falling down and fire rising up, which allows the two elements to connect.

SSR finally made the movie he wanted to make. He started with Magadheera, but the technology wasn't there yet. Then he made Eega, which was WAY too out there for any non-Indian audience - but it was a brilliant film nonetheless. He almost got there with Baahubali, but the stuntwork wasn't as good as it could have been IMO though the CGI had gotten better. Here, even through COVID and the Russian invasion of Ukraine, he FINALLY made the movie he wanted to see as an audience. And he absolutely killed it. Stunts, music, action, acting, drama, CGI, set design, lighting, and THE SOUND. OH MY GOD THE SOUND.

I am so glad you watched this! I prefer the English dubbing in the version I watched over the one Cassie watched, as Ram's voice is much deeper in the version I saw, but she did it right anyway with the unmatching subtitles. This movie is amazing, somehow, even being so over the top in almost every way possible. The "over the topness" in some of the previews is what kept me from seeing it initially, but this movie is so good in so many unexpected ways. I love it and I share it with everyone now. As someone who understands Hindi, and have watched the telegu version as well. The telegu version is the best, second in line is Hindi because I don't have to rely on subtitles and dubbing is done by the original actors ,which in turn retains the emotions. 50:10 Both Ram and Bheem are modern historical figures as depicted in movies but they are also inspired from ancient Hindu epic characters of Shri Rama (from Ramayana Era) and Mighty Bheem (from Mahabharat Era) that's the reason why Bheema can lift motorcycle because according to Mahabharat, Bheema can crush mountains and 🐘 with his single punch. And Rama dressed liked that statue (idol from where he gets his 🏹) of ancient Indian Rama. You should read the lyrics of song playing in background music in last forest battle. 17. Seeta telling bheem ram's total story Which was Venkatesh rama raju had became man bomb for the nations freedom and gave his life, Ram had to kill his own father for the promise, lost his younger brother mother and father at the same situation ( I imagined seeta as earth element in RRR, she was so supportive from the childhood like mother earth is supportive to us for living in this world) (cried again)
    18. Bheem's promise to seeta (Yes more crying)
    19. Bheem saved ram and the final fight

In some Indian movies there may be unnecessary songs but the two songs in this movie were so important and part of the plot,
The drum beat from natu natu was essential
And the second torture song is wat make Ram realise he have to help Bheem Escape

Great reaction! This movie really does put you on a rollercoaster of emotions and Raj's backstory keeps you stressed out because we as the viewer don't understand his dedication to the crown. Your "This movie is everything" really sums it up, it has so many things in it and it does them great for such a long runtime and you don't even care because it's so entertaining. You said they really depicted the British as evil in this, and unfortunately, they kinda were back when this was set. A lot of Indians and other cultures who were colonized by them really have a disdain for them. When Queen Elizabeth died recently they were unapologetic about their joy, even though she didn't start it, but she carried the torch. I appreciate when a movie can be both entertaining and educational.
