Remember at the begining of covid when people bought more that what they needed leaving others with nothing or very little? And it actually came out in netflix arround that time
Yeah everyone buying toilet paper like their asshole stopped working or something
This is why I want to make a case for bidets!
Hi, I Just want you to know that i remember you. @@TheJerbol
Yea the grocery part of Walmart was nearly completely empty at some points. I’ve never seen anything like that before ppl are nuts
Because they didn’t know how many time it would last.
I've seen loads of interpretations of this movie, there's people who say the girl is an hallucination... which would make sense, the Don Quijote book is a metaphor as well (everything in the book is basically the main character hallucinating)
OH DUH! I totally forgot about that. Nice catch!
So then everything was for nothing. No message was sent because they gave the Pana Cotta to an imaginary person. This movie really screws with your head.
@@John_Locke_108 no.
A horribly sloppy & overly simplistic take on the first Modern novel.
When I first saw this I thought the movie had an even bleaker message. I thought that, regardless of how it is presented, they actually accomplished sending back the pastry pretty much intact. The message made it back. However, the administration didn’t understand it and thought it had made it back because it had been sent with a hair on it. I believe that’s why they show us the scene with the supervisor lining up every worker.
So, things are so bleak that the message made it up but the administration was so out of touch that they didn’t interpreted it correctly.
So many people coming to the same conclusion apparently
how did I not think of that...im so dumb
@@lazy_romanthere are many ways to interpret it so it's not wrong if you thought something else. Also I don't think that scene is after the end
@@risottopose9970 Poor media literacy leads lots of people to misread & misunderstand things all the time creating false commentary ultimately disrupting, changing, & threatening to eclipse the original message. Precisely what the second part of Pale Fire warns against. It is not as complex as all that laughable misrepresentation. Hair on the food was meant to highlight the dark irony of the high, exacting standards & strict quality control the chef & administration maintain in stark contrast to the brutal & inhumane conditions the prisoners face.
J
I think it’s really interesting that the old man at the beginning said he hoped they could stay on the “middle floors,” when in reality, they were in the top 3rd- they just didn’t know how low they could really go. And nobody except the mom actually knew that there was a kid at the bottom, suffering.
But there wasn't a kid there.
@@Ripcraze there was because the lift stopped.
The panna cotta reached the top with a hair on it earlier in the film, it was a scene out of order that showed the end result of the "message". The top misunderstood it. It was all for nothing and that is kind of the point of the film. These people, from the very top to the very bottom, will never be able to achieve what our main character was trying to do.
This is probably the 4th or 5th time I’ve seen this theory, did you get it from somewhere or did multiple people come to the same conclusion
Nah
You don't know that and it's up for interpretation
@@ottokaare5925 and isn't that so lovely, that they shared their interpretation.. maybe you could follow their lead and put your theory out there instead of naysaying theirs when you also don't know
@@HiThereLove16it either makes sense or it doesn’t.
this was really unexpected, never imagined you would react to this movie, nice
I was on shrooms when I saw this
The protagonist wants to be there to progress in his work and it is the dreamer, the old man is crime he is confortable with the system, the lady officer is someone that works for the system and believes that the system in the platform works. All analogies to our society
One of my favourite movies of all time!! There's so many ways you can interpret the movies message and ending
let's hear it then!
respect to you guys for watching it the way it was intended in its original language
"Pat, I'm killing you first in a zombie apocalypse"
LMAO, same
Smart woman
don't worry, he'll definitely get eaten and probably extremely early on lol
I love that Marketa talks about how Life of Pi is kinda dark since the author aka Pi suffered through trauma and made his own story by using animals in the story.
Entire movie is symbolic towards Don quixote's book main character dies at the bottom the movie doesn't show this.
They keep on trying to consume the food with the most calories so each time you see them scram to the middle it's for the cakes which are always dined in the middle, the people you view as fucking up the table are looking out for themselves
That’s a perspective I didn’t take into account! With that in mind, why wouldn’t they walk to the side of the platform? Especially when the elderly black man makes a pint to tell them they are stepping on the food.
@@briab6524 I always just assumed it's because they are trying to rush and get whatever they can as fast as they can and they just couldn't care about the next level which has to eat,the movie pretty much paints everyone as selfish and that if your below them your worthless and if your above them your worth more, that's just my two cents tho
@@straightuphating1013 not only that but because people at the top can act like that if they want ,even in the movie they mention that they can threatened people at the button but they can’t shit upward .
This movie is one big metaphor for the class struggle.
This whole movie is a metaphor for classism and society
HAH! That reaction to the end credits was great.
I remember reading about this movie taking Netflix by storm, so I decided to check it out. Yikesy yikes. I did enjoy it.
I think aside the class issue theme, the references to biblical figures like having 333 floors (which would mean there are 666 people all over the prison) which I like to think is a reference to hell, and the fact that they keep bringing the Messiah thing over and over again with the protagonist really make this movie awesome
Brie throwing her notes at the end, perfect reaction.
I may be saying that because that was basically me.
The carzy woman was Don Quixote in the story. She halucinated the child. The dudes did too at the end of their own quest and instead of the girl the cake actually made it back and thats that scene when mean guy upstairs was searching the chefs hairs from the cake. The message was lost when the cake made it back. And dude did die too, thats why he walked off with the dead old man. The cycle continues and no one is listening.
How do you know that.
@@ottokaare5925 Because I wrote and directed it.
@@JL-by6ce You wrote it and directed it ?
@@lawtraf8008Yeah
that was an alternate ending the platform 2 is planned to be filmed
So simple of a concept yet such a powerful story.
Did NOT expect you guys to do this movie. It's awesome
Wow ive been waiting on someone to react to this.....and the trendsetter is.......THE NORMIES!!!! Love yall!
@32:15 I caught the orange lantern reference there Lafreese. Good job
😁😁right on my G lol
i remember being high af at my friends house when i first saw this, ill never forget this movie
I was stupid enough to watch this movie before I found a good medication for my anxiety. I had an attack so bad I had to spend the night at my parents’ house.
Please mind the gap between the platform and the train
💀
Mindful eating is actually another way to make the food taste more because there's apparently a second set of nostrils in the back of your throat kind of in addition to being a way to lose weight because you can actually get more nutrition from less food by breaking it down in your mouth instead of having your stomach do all the work.
Thank you Brie for saying humans are animals. Since elementary school whenever I found out that humans are mammals and mammals are animals that has always been my response whenever someone makes the implication that we are not animals. Yes there might be differences between humans and other species however there's differences between pretty much every species even sometimes within the species there's differences among the males and females sometimes there's differences among the ones that went to this country or that country or live near the water or not like there's some snakes that can swim and then other snakes that couldn't swim but can climb a tree.
I had a neighbor at an apartment complex one time lose their shit on me despite explaining that humans being animals is just a fact and not an insult. 🤦♀️
Brie's commentary on the movie’s themes was really great
😂😂 the rage at the sudden ending 😂😂
The hospital may not turn people away but they may leave with a mountain of debt
Facts overpopulation is overrated with the right system everyon can live in one continent and thrive
You guys know what a viewer want ❤️
Theres a platform 2 the trailer just came out 🙌🙌🙌
Pat is such a big baby lol 😂 swears he is so tuff lol but just a scaredy cat 🙀.
He’s such a cutie pie when he’s like that
I remember watching this when it came out.
i have like a year waiting for this
Technically they did have resources of whatever one item they brought in and the Unlimited Supply of water so they could technically supplement the lack of food with additional water
The religious thing always pissed me off whenever they tried to separate us from other animals considering the fact that a being as all-knowing and all-powerful as a god would see humans as no more significant than each individual cell in your body. Every single form of life would be the exact same level of significant to such a being that created all of existence. Also if there was a God then they definitely didn't create life on one planet but probably trillions of planets and a being that has created life on trillions of planets has more important things to think about than whatever you're praying about
I would say that it's a commentary not only on social structures however also what the positions do to us.
Everyone could be up high one month and at the very bottom the next.
The Stanford prison experiment, even the professor got way to into the position of power during the experiment and it had to be shut down early.
Basically having the power to screw over others especially when it includes someone who may have screwed you over is extremely tempting.
We also take bits of others who we spend time with. He adapted to the place with a man who ate his roommate, made plates and tried to make a change by whatever way he could with the one who was his interviewer, and took action with the last one who tried to climb upwards.
Also most anyone would end another's life if they are put in the right circumstances.
OOOH hell yeah, so glad y'all are doing this movie!
The response I expected LMAO
You know this movie's good whenever key things like how does the platform work like scientifically how do they know when you keep food how do they know went that you kept food versus a part of a plate that you broke off so you can scratch the wall to keep track of the days... what is the meaning behind burning or freezing them and how do they keep the temperature in that one area when there's a giant hole in the floor and the ceiling ...
These are the questions you ask after all of the other questions about this movie yet in almost any other movie these would have been the first question to ask... well obviously not these questions but you know what I mean
Ignorance is bliss...out of sight...out of mind. That is the message I got from watching that movie🤔
The limited portion of food and the fact they can't see other people despite knowing they're there kinda proves it😐
Get ready, The Platform 2 comes out October 4th!
The ending was brilliant! My understanding of it is different from others I guess. For me this represents the system, the real world.
We need Brie in more reactions!!! She’s awesome
"This is stupid!" the only appropriate response to this movie.
Another great Netflix show that talks about these concepts is the 3%. It's a show and has many more actors/extras however takes the same core concepts.
That fully beared dude seems really eager to shit on the platform
My fav quarantine movie
Apparently the guy who created Tom's actually created an economic collapse in the areas that he would give his shoes out because the cobbler would lose their job because people would rather have free shoes that are brand-new then to continuously repair or buy expensive shoes that they can't really afford. So that person lost their job and Tom's didn't think to hire local cobblers to make any shoes so that caused a chain reaction because then they couldn't support the people that they supported on a regular basis. Those people took a hit to their monthly income so a lot of them who were living month-to-month might not have been able to have paid all their bills that month so Ben that put those people in Jeopardy and then so on and so forth and eventually economic collapse. The guy behind Tom's was trying to do something good yet because of his savior complex and inability to see the larger picture there was something that was just overlooked and caused more problems in the long run.
The platform 2 is out now!
Just watched this movie for the first time so I came straight to the normies after. First time ever seeing Brie before, also I’m glad I don’t have to wait as long as you guys had to for part 2 coming out in October!
Yeah if grocery stores didn't have to have about three times as much groceries as they actually sell in order to sell the things they do or we were able to actually eat the food that we buy and then go buy more food whenever we're out instead of going and buying more food whenever you already have food and then the food that you already have goes bad or like how restaurants throw away a bunch of food at the end of the day every time they close.
Nice choice, I LOVE this movie!!!
Also with the poorest people I can attest after growing up in and out of homeless shelters that a majority of homeless programs are designed to actually keep you homeless. You have to stand in line for this then for that than for this then for that than for this and maybe you need a little bit of time to relax so they have a movie but you got to be there like 20 minutes before it starts and then right afterwards you need to go wait in line for dinner and then after that you need to get line for staying there overnight because they don't want to let you in after like 8 or 10 at night and that means that a lot of job she just can't do even if you skipped a bunch of the resources the shelter offers. Even the program's to do get you out of homelessness get you back to renting a place and yes renting is a million times better than what indentured servants had to go through however it is the modern equivalent. The concept of having to work your entire life for someone else's benefit. And if you have one bad month then you're probably going to end up right back on those streets.
So, if you're on level 10, do you jump on the 29th day? Because chances are your next level will be way down at the bottom. And it would be hell going from gorging on food to slowly starving to death.
It's at random, you could be on level 7 then 3 on the next
@@_Yombo Wasn't sure if it was truly random or if it was designed to torture people by punishing them after "rewarding" them.
Glad you all liked this one, it’s a great thinker flick. Have you watched the new one yet?
Also… you must now watch Coherence! So good. Go in blind. Do a react video plz. 🤗
Brie might be my new favorite Normie
i love this movie so happy yall watchin it
Can't wait for that sequel reaction 🤭
I’ve followed them for a min and never came to watch this reaction. However! I saw this movie years ago well before following them. Or maybe after still but didn’t really watch reactions. Just! Came from a different reactor watching Cabin in the Woods and the comments mentioned this film. So found who watched it and boom, here.
Great job all of you! Ive already seen it. I have my opinions. Great movie. The review at the end was awesome. This was fun
They seem cool to chill wit
Seen a few reactions now, but I'm curious why no one reacts to that there is nothing sending the platform up or down. No chains, ropes or anything. It just hovers.
Magic? Metaphysical? Or just very literally a metaphore about wealth/resources being passed down. Is this a form of purgatory?
May be magnetic
Easily explained with electromagnetics...how d'ya think stepper motor works? Similar principle (except gravity is used as well) it rotates to the next fixed position where the field holds it in place. I guess the saying is true,... "Magic is just physics that we don't understand yet"!
36:08 36:20 general audience be like
Oh and there is a study that was done we're basically some people were given Chanel bags some people were given Louis Vuitton bag some people are given no bag at all some people are given an Ikea bag and not the bag that is worth over $10,000 that looks exactly like an Ikea bag that was probably made in the exact same warehouse has the Ikea bag with the exact same materials but a different label from Ikea but an actual Ikea bag. Basically the experiment showed that the things that you have can also change how you think but it only works if you understand these social implications of the product you're holding.
Communism was definitely a thing in this movie, especially when heroes decided to force people ration their food (goods for everyone). Spain was familiar with communism in 20th century.
Spain was also familiar with Francisco Franco.
Also if you eat off of smaller play to trick your brain into thinking that you have larger portions. Not by much but just enough to where you could theoretically eat 5% less everyday.
Especially with meditation you would definitely be able to survive a month with nothing but water.
Everyone is taking a remarkably American interpretation.
…we are American so…it’s inherent
Next time y’all should watch “Beast of no Nation “
Marketa's hair is amazing. I wish I looked that good with short hair.
Lol
Marketa is crazy

Yeah to be honest I was okay with this movie concept whenever it was just humans but then they brought a dog into it and I was like oh no f*** this s*** f*** this
I only watch traumatizing movies with the normies
Oh also crime rate and murder rates go way up with less recorces, there for they are killing each other oflver the little they do have. The rich people die yet mostly from themselves when they think of losing the good life they have become used to.
"cannibalism I can get past but eating a dog..."
Lol So...better not to have her near if shit goes down... However, pretty sure if she was put in that same position she'd eat the dog, like most people would.
Dude..she has told me multiple times that she would eat me in the zombocolypse, I sleep with one eye open and the News on
@@spideyharper618 Guess I would too xD
That is NOT how I phrased it 😂
i always heard about this movie...but wow it was even more messed up than i thought lol
When you were talking about people buy in excess in more developed countries. I do agree but on the other hand it's not the individual that has the ability to change things like that. In the us most crops grown don't go toward feeding people it goes toward feeding livestock which does then go toward feeding people. Though then a not insignificant amout go towards gas and products. People in the world starve because a company can pay for products while the improvised can't.
You need to react to "tarde para la ira", "REC", "Balada triste de trompeta" and "El Bar"
Really good spanish movies too
For the record almost every film we make in spain is brutal with a wild guion haha
Greetings from Seville, Spain!
You guys should watch Jujutsu Kaisen 0 the movie okay. This is the prequel before Itadori Yuuji.
Although to be fair I have eaten dog on multiple occasion and eating cat. Plus pigs are just as intelligent and have about as much emotional intelligence if not more. Also don't yell at me it was at a Chinese buffet and my family ate there all the time and then it got shut down because we found out that it was getting most of its meat from the animal shelter that was right next door only because it was on the news. And then there was a time in the Bahamas where we were visiting people and we visited an island and then the next day we visited the island again and we were honored guests they cooked for us. During dinner we asked about the dog and they let us know we were eating the dog and that it died of natural causes. Although it was a small island so waste-not-want-not.
The platform 2 just came out, u should try it
Loved Micky's interpretation of the movie. He sees the bigger picture of the message.
8:27 Karen, the memes write themselves. What the old man said was pure truth
This movie is too much, it's an amazing commentary on society with loads of metaphors but it's too much... had to skip half of it
7:04 that "bad boy" effect and attitude really doesnt fit when he covers his face every single little scary thing
Unfortunately I see plants as conscious living organisms in of themselves I mean they essentially have a monetary system with water in certain areas of the world where they have decent mycelium Networks. Just like the internet if you pay more you get a better connection and you actually get information about incoming bug attacks and things like that faster if you give the mycelium Network more water which can give me time to prepare for the attack and secrete an enzyme or something like that the helps repel the bugs or cut off circulation to the leaves or something like that. I just think that there different forms of consciousness and then every form of life requires taking of another life in order to take continue.
Great movie.
This was the wrong movie to eat food with. Sick.
This movie is so good. 🔥
After you watch Snowpiercer there's a great film Theory video on the movie and I want to talk about it but I know that some of you read the comments and some of you might not have watched the movie yet so I'm not going to say anything please watch the movie and then watch the film Theory video on that movie because it will not only change the way you see the movie Snowpiercer but it will change the way you see another story
Movies like this make me think how sick in the head some people are like how can someone think of this idea of a story
Love this movie!
It's non if the phone is Android or Apple what matters it is do you know what to look for and does your voice recognition actually recognize your accent
It also comes from a problem with the rich not understanding that we no longer live in a zero-sum game. Now then we can create things digitally that do not actually exist but are created due to our time and effort this means that we can literally create value out of nothing well not out of nothing you have to have a device that you paid for but you know what I mean. That combined with the fact that if we have a more educated populace than technology advances faster technology advances faster than it gets cheaper faster they also can get a longer life expectancy and other things of that nature however they're more afraid of losing money in the short-term because even rich people don't know if they're going to be alive in 2 weeks. Because all the money in the world still can't protect you from a random accident. At least not yet.
Another obscure movie that’s pretty good is called The Circle it’s on Netflix
Obviously i would prefer some sort of order…but how can you say you dont get it. Imagine not eating for 30 days and only staring at the ceiling. Yeah. That food platform is getting devoured.
