@@Randomkloud Yes, you get full reward for being present in the mission completion screen. Iirc, you get partial reward from objectives and minerals mined so far if you are kicked.
Should note that the rockets are incredibly clunky to use. After pulling out the laser pointer, there is a 1 to 2 second delay before right clicking will register a command to fire a rocket. Then Bosco needs to get in range as determined by his AI and then fire the rocket. This causes massive delays from when you decide you want a rocket to when you actually get one. Especially the initial delay on giving the command. Holding the laser pointer out, while a swarm is trying to kill you as you keep trying to tell Bosco to launch a rocket, is very frustrating and can lead to a death.
I found that a way to get around that is actually to call bosco with X shortly after ordering the rocket if he's not close enough to shoot it instantly. Because I have found that he remembers the target he's supposed to shoot at but ignores his pathing to that target, he just comes right to you and shoots the rocket as he passes by. Course this only works if the target is near you but most of the time that's the only time I'm asking him to shoot.
I remember once I was chasing down a Huuli Hoarder, pinged it with Bosco's rockets and kept shooting at it. Eventually it got away and a comical 10 seconds later, Bosco finally got to me and fired the rocket at a wall.
If calling a Bosco Rocket is gonna act like I'm calling in heavy artillery, with the near minutes wait time and all, it needs to hit like artillery. I wouldn't mind if the rockets were much more powerful.
An additional small tip: don't set bosco to mine anything right away when entering a new cave system and you're not running a scout. My dumb butt died many times to leeches while Bosco was happily digging away lol
Bosco has saved my arse from a cave leech more times then I can count without even firing a single bullet. Because he's always next to me I can hear when he pulls his weapons out. Not a build you mentioned, but 3-1-3-3-2 is great for spamming cryo rockets. You get 3 rockets at 50 seconds each, so if you fired them out evenly, you could fire a cryo rocket every 17 seconds.

He can't grab fossils and stuff, but he can dig aquarqs out so quick it's silly and carry em right back no traversal tools necessary. If the cave's open you can probably do aquarqs in like 7 mins. I was hoping for some more tips, but really, what can you say other than "remember you have access to (freeze) rockets and Bosco can mine while you pick flowers." The biggest hurdle on efficient Bosco use is remembering that the solution to most of your problems is a laser pointer ping away. See a mineral? Ping bosco. Need light? Ping bosco. Swarm threatening you? Rocket ping bosco. If you're quick and efficient, you might not even need 80 nitra during the mission depending on how quick you and Bosco can tick those objective boxes.

Often times I find myself having to burn my support tool and grenades to get the enemies up off me while I repair. Being able to tell bosco to fix for you would be such a nice quality of life for solo.
While yea, the rockets are a bit underwhelming, there are still some pretty solid cases for non-cryo rockets in solo play IMO. Particularly, using abilities like Scout's pheremone grenades can get groups of anywhere from 2-10 grunts all clumped up, making them prime target's for Bosco's non-cryo rockets.
Using Overcharged Rounds against a Bulk Det has saved me plenty of times. When I'm Cryo Driller I don't have too many options to fight them myself - so I just point Bosco at it and move into another room until it's done. (Maybe with the odd Axe/Ice Spear pot-shot.)
I forgo any rocket upgrades when there are other choices cause it's too clunky. BOSCO can soft-lock when trying to line up a rocket shot on an enemy obscured by terrain. In haz 5 solo I just can't afford spending time to command a rocket which just doesn't happen, as well as removing the much needed electricity debuff because he's sitting behind a wall.
I have found that a good use of Bosco's rockets is to use them to destroy sniper turrets on sabotage missions when I only have short - medium range weapons. They don't one shot but they get enough damage in that I can normally get a bit closer and chip away their last bit of hp.

One thing I want to throw in that is somewhat niche but is worth considering nonetheless, is Leeches. While yes, Bosco WILL prio a leech if it grabs you, depending on your current health and the hazard level (I play a lot of Haz 4, for example) if you have Revive or Mining in T1, the odds of Bosco saving you before you take a down are VERY low. A lot of factors get in the way. How far away was he when you were grabbed? Is there terrain in the way? How hurt were you before? Did you have shields or are they weak or already broken? High Velocity Rounds in T1 greatly improves your odds of getting away from a Leech attack before it downs you. So if you're prone to getting caught up in in greasy meatballs, take HV Rounds. It helps a lot. It won't save you every time, but the amount of times Bosco's bailed me out of becoming dinner for a cave leech has increased a lot since I started running HV Rounds. Also a side note for the rockets... While yes, Overcharged Rounds in T5 is very useful, remember to check all of your choices against how you play. If you're like me, and you're using a LOT of cryo rockets, T5B's value gains a massive boost. Paired with the third rocket in T3, you can bring a lot more cryo to every fight you get into, taking only 120s (2 minutes) to fully reload from empty. As compared to any other T5 mod and 2/3 rockets: 180s / 270s (3 minutes / 4.5 minutes) - It's a difference you absolutely will feel, having another rocket ready in just 40s.
I just run heightened senses when solo. That frees you up to have bosco mining and carrying away at his hearts content without having to worry about leeches. i personally really like going with the odd 31221 bosco build. it might seem weird at first, but it does make sense. i play scout on haz 5 with pheromone grenades, kite around until most of the wave is clumped together and throw the grenade. this leads into a very compact and unmoving mass of grunts that 2 rockets can cleanly kill. T3A is useless for me since i play scout. T3C is not very useful since 2 rockets WILL wipe the horde, so i stick with an extra revive just in case i fuck up severely. T4A makes the bugs run away when i WANT them to stay still. T4C is a very tempting choice, but that would remove the damage from the rockets so the strat wouldnt work. T4B doesnt really do much either, but its the one upgrade that doesnt screw me over. T5A helps ensure even the densest of waves gets wiped. T5B isnt really needed since by the time another swarm comes in you (typically) will already have both rockets recharged. Thanks for the video, which is very well explained and incredibly useful. Would you say the guide is still up to date as of this writing?
Bosco is a solo scouts best friend.
Glad to know my qol choices of light and mining speed actually drake sense. He seems to mine faster than me sometimes lol. Also great for seeing nasties with the light as a guy who enjoys being able to see and running strong arm
For me it's always hyper helper Bosco though if it's a hazard level or just a mission that I feel a little sketchy on in terms of my own survivability then maybe helicopter parent but usually hyper helper Bosco is best Bosco for me
Done a good job explaining how to call Bosco back, but not how to shoot rocket. I always forget that one and takes me time to figure out.
Mining button while pointing.

@@Astro939 Like I said, did not explain what right click is supposed to do (mine) unlike he explained what X is supposed to do (call).
@@mhx47please don't ever play games on controller. Even a braindead 7 year old would know left trigger is the equivalent of right click
Although Bosco wont outright attack Korlock roots, he will attack a Bet-C without hesitation.
The increased radius doesn't work with cryo rockets? It feels like it could be a neat option.
It took me way too long to realize he could help me build pipelines. All the time I wasted when he was right there the whole time 😂
.. TIL Bosco can mine heartstone lasers
Thank you for explaining how to use rockets ❤
Bosco will also carry dorettas head if exfil gets hairy
No dwarf left behind ❤
I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure recently my Bosco automatically shot at BET-C
My Bosco automatically shoots at Kurlocs every time. I have to tell him to go stare at all until I'm ready.
I would better pick froze rocket for damage, bcs you can't destroy apressor's armour, but you can freeze and one-shot em
im new to drg and idk how to tell if the X means im bringing him or not.
what is this music in the background again
how did you get surplus barrel for bosco
Ey, quick question, can u tell us what mod you use to remove the stuff around rockpox?
Im sorry, he can *build pipelines?!*
love the new content! R&S :)
Yo, how do you make all those annoying lithophage grass disappear before clearing the objective? Is it a mod? Its killing my frames dude
Step 1. Stop playing on a laptop. Get a good PC.
@@spankyjeffro5320 I got a mod to do it
@@spankyjeffro5320"Just buy something more expensive LMAO"
Thay should add an upgrade for auto rockets
I wonder if they’ll ever add bosco overclocks might be to strong/encourage solo play to much
Let face it vanilla bosco kind of bad in combat because of the slow speed ,i have seen him struggle shooting and catching up grunt before but then again im doing no shooting run
I will say, from experience, do not call for Bosco to return if you get grabbed. More than once have I been leeched, and I ping for Bosco and he gets confused and leaves. I’ve died more than once because his AI gets broken by this.
This has only ever happened to be once. I have played hundreds of missions with him and most the time I can spam X and he'll come running.
Only time he ever watched him just fly off to the other side of the cave was when I stepped on a tumble weed and it catapulted me into the ground at warp 10. I then proceeded to lose the mission as I stared in shock.
i'm a solo or private player
for bosco uh 1-c. 2-?. 3-a/b. 4- uh fear. 5-c
I prefer press v instead of x
Doing things fancy way
Really good video
How do I get bosco
I keep having to remind some RUclips's that play DRG what Basco can do to help them out like Reapor. Glad to see your never going to be one of them but given some of your runs....I think there's not a damn thing I could ever help you with
Я уснул с желанием увидеть это видео от тебя и проснулся уже с ним, спасибо Легенда
I don't know, I'd say the hardest choice is t2
boscoe
Ty
He builds pippe? He build fkn pipe >.>
why you stole my bosco skin lol
A real solo player goes without the helper bot 😋
But who will I shout Rock and Stone at? 👀
