    It made a great cup of coffee. My issue is I have severe osteo and rheumatoid arthritis and could not do the extraction without severe pain. Thank goodness I bought it from Amazon so I could return it. I wound up getting a GSI Microlite Java Press.

  • @tomstestkitchen
    @tomstestkitchen 4 года назад +2

    I guess I should give it a few more tries, it seems to take forever to complete the extraction process. I love the Nanopresso, that is my goto at the office.

    • @9to5toys
      @9to5toys  4 года назад +1

      I agree, it does take a bit to pull all of the water through during extraction. I find myself checking it frequently. But I'm still quite pleased with the end result.

    • @jm7720

      That is a better product nanopresso but even thats plastic. What you using at home tom? ( v60 or french press?)

    I'm amazed the lengths people go too for a cup of coffee "on the go"

  • @weeksweeks9552
    @weeksweeks9552 3 года назад +3

    Does it get hot to hold/touch? being so close to the boiling water the entire process. And holding onto that thin looking aluminium flask while pulling out the plastic screw after immersing into boiling water looks very uncomfortable.
    I think it is a reasonably priced enough to give it a try. Not many good "travel brewers" can brew straight into a mug, aside from an aeropress go, but most people buying this probably already have an original aeropress.

    • @Scolopente
      @Scolopente 2 года назад

      The aluminium cup never gets hot, the screwy bit can but the orange screwed not. Its easy to operate and never so hot you'll burn yourself.

  • @LairdDavidson

    So far this is the best of not many reviews of this product. I'm interested in it but not convinced yet. Two measuring spoons of ground coffee for an 8oz cup is about double the standard dose. Okay if you like really strong coffee and can handle the caffeine hit.
    Will this gadget work correctly with one measure of coffee? Is the experience and brew better than a travel cafetiere or the Gsi H2JO filter in a vacuum flask that I'm using now? Do fine grounds end up in your drink?

    • @Araknalam
      @Araknalam 4 года назад +2

      I think it is not much more than a standard dose. Standard dose is 60 g for 1000 ml. The Pipamokh brews 235 ml, the dose should be ~14 g, but the basket holds ~16 g. That is only 14 % more.

    • @_multiverse_

      This is a gimmick product, the AeroPress will deliver better results.

    • @Scolopente
      @Scolopente 2 года назад +2

      I have this and absolutely love love love it. For ensuring you can make at least half-decent coffee everywhere you go it's a must! Is it the height of coffee brewing? No. Is it good enough? Very much yes. A life saver if you ever stay over at a friends and they don't drink coffee (and yes those people exist!).

    Only used mine once so far and I must have had my grind too fine I think. A bit bitter. I hope I get it right though because the nanopresso has been incredible for me.

    I'm not sure I understand the practical use of this. I wouldn't be able to imagine a situation where I would be on the go and have to use it AND yet have access to piping hot water. Do you take this to work? Hiking? When you're out and about? Not hating on the product, just legitimately confused.

    • @alexandergutfeldt1144
      @alexandergutfeldt1144 4 года назад +6

      When I go into the mountains (car, bicycle or hiking) I bring a small stove/pot combo that I use to cook and heat water.
      I've ordered a Picamocca to add it to my hiking kit.
      Another usecase: I can get boiling water free at the office, but a (truly awful) coffee costs me 1 franc (Swiss) ..

  • @franktatom1837
    @franktatom1837 2 года назад +1

    Mr. Stickler here. This is not a true vacuum coffee maker, as I understand. A vacuum coffee maker has two chambers, one at the bottom filled with water, one at the top, with coffee grounds in the top and a siphon connecting the two chambers which are sealed together with a gasket. As the bottom chamber is heated, the heated water is forced into the upper chamber, mixes with the coffee, and a vacuum is created in the bottom chamber as the water is pushed upwards. When all the water is in the upper chamber and the coffee maker is removed from the heat, the brewed coffee is pulled back into the lower chamber by the vacuum, past a glass or metal filter. This coffee maker simply pushes the container of coffee grounds through the water as the internal part is screwed out, which is a French press in reverse.

  • @lyricox

    1. where is the coffee yield? why not show it?
    2. the way you edit the video makes your video into dots.. not line... difficult to follow... and the way the different parts of the device connected to each other change from one scene to another scene.

    This looks great. However, I (personally) wouldn’t call it an “all in one coffee maker” if it doesn’t come with a grinder. Others do, and therefore should/could be called an “all in one”.
    My 2 cents.
