I loved in Deadpool the game, when you take too much damage and Deadpool says "I'm sorry, but can you pass the controller to someone who KNOW what they are doing?"
I remember in a Jak and Daxter game someone says to Jak "THIS ISN'T A GAME" and both Jak and Daxter look at the player with confused expressions. Loved that part
I remember in Batman Arkham City the Joker was speaking to Batman through a speaker system or something similar whilst you're trying to solve this puzzle and joker says "Oh...and bats? You better not be looking up the answer on Wikipedia" so funny!!
Deadpool's famous gimmick is breaking the 4th wall. so why wouldn't he do it in his game. And they don't do the same break the same way. Sometimes he's confused about the graphics, sometimes he's laughing at the game's plot holes, and sometimes he argues with his agent.

Sarah Krishef Ohhh yes, that Pokemon Ranger quote... My reaction was like: ._. Nintendo pls I have played PMD 4 and dont remember that moment, but I guess PMD 2 brainwashed me with its epicness :D
+Andy Faull If that were the case she would've still looked through Ezio's eyes, as the animus lets you experience the memories of your ancestors as if you were them.
+Akamatsu_Ace 1 Month ago... oh man i should've been here like a little earlier, plus i don't know if anyone knows my game Hyperdimension Neptunia... I mean my name is in the title... where's Pluite, she should be able to help me spread my game to every lovable gamer out there. ;)
I can't help but be reminded of when I was playing Kirby:Triple Deluxe, when you find the warp star on the first level, Kirby turns around, smiles, and waves at you. It's adorable! Then on the first level of the final area, when Kirby is breaking into this castle thing with a warp star, he turns and gives you a nod that clearly says "Let's do this!" It's so cute!
A game I am honestly surprised at not being on this list is quite possibly one of the EARLIEST breaks of the 4th wall in video games. That's "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" for the NES. In the game, if you talked to Jessica Rabbit, she would tell you to call her sometime. And she gives you a real phone number. Anyone who actually called the number got a pre-recorded message of Jessica giving you a hint to defeat the end boss. I think that's just mind blowing for such a little known game.
You should've had Sly Cooper in there. Bentley is always telling Sly what buttons to push. Bentley: Sly you need to jump and hit the circle button. lol
Crash Twin-Sanity at a pretty nift fourth wall break. First skunk enemy you encounter initiates a cutscene where he looks directly at the camera and says "Hey, hey you. Yeah you. I've been doing this for 10 stinking years. Back and forward, back and forward. Well I'M SICK OF IT! I'm not gonna do it no more" It then stands up with its arms folded and you get kick into a hole with spikes. Fun times.
Colin:"The Battle's over sir" Hachi:"Don't you believe it, laddie! There's always the War Room and other modes to boot" *Fourth wall break referencing other modes of Advance Wars 2*
Max Payne 1 should be here for the "I was in a graphic novel"/"I was in a video game" moment in the opening level of part 3. That was brilliantly done.
Wait... Bioshock? Bioshock 1? Possibly the greatest video game twist of all time where the developers essentially call the players their puppets wasn't even an honorable mention? Would you kindly make an addendum to the list?
I'm not sure I agree with you but I do understand your argument. I believe the creators knew exactly what they were doing and that they wanted to send us a message about the players choice in video games. Therefore because the message was so direct I think the argument can be made that it WAS a 4th wall break. That said the fact that there is a legitimate argument against says that it should be disqualified from being on the list. Fairs fair.
Russell Higgins I do think the confrontation with Andrew Ryan is a fourth wall break, too. I mean, even though it's the avatar (Jack Ryan) who Andrew talks to, it's also directed to the player since what has the avatar done for the time we got there? Followed orders with the command "would you kindly." Sadly, they should have left the twist to the end somehow; after the the confrontation, the plot starts to roll downhill. Fontane should have used the "code yellow" or something even potent to assure his victory over Andrew, but he doesn't because the writers wanted "a concrete ending" to the game. Although, if the plane crashed elsewhere or killed Jack in the process, would Fontane's plan be ruined for good? So it's a miracle that the game even starts, but I digress.
9_Bucks So if you don't have the game already, I have it, and its one of my favorites :) Completed the game, and it was truly amazing. Plus, theres a Online PvP feature. If you ever get it, we can vs each other. Yes Pit is the one who truly makes the game great :) The voice actor's name is Anthony del Rio, and hes my 3rd favorite gamin voice actor ever :)
They mentioned that Deadpools 4th wall breaks were great, but turn repetitive after a while, that's why they didn't make it number 1, because there were some games that made better jokes/4th wall breaks
one of my favourite 4th wall breaks in Kid Icarus Uprisng Palutena(P):You know, pit. bows can be VERY useful. Pit(p): Yeah, i know! i used one in the latest Brawl! P: a brawl! did you get hurt? p: nah, it was a Smash! P:you know, i couldn't imagine you in a Melee p: thats because i wasnt... not the EXACT words, but you get mah jist!
Haha, yeah they totally forgot that. "I feel like someone is controlling my every move and enjoying countless repetitions of my moves in slow motion..."
sakib bari ..... You're joking right? They NEVER have 720p. Go to a video they uploaded 2 months ago! They don't do HD! Don't insult him for an error you made.
The internet is full of trolls and other hateful creatures that tend to slaughter innocent commentators. Caution is not underrated ;) And thank you for calling me a genius ^-^
I think Eternal Darkness is a good Number 1. That game screwed with me SO bad. And think Deadpool kinda 'lives' in the fourth wall, so idk if he gets a fair rating :P
I would have liked to see an honorable mention of Sonic tapping his foot and looking at you/taking a nap when you don't move for so long in the original sonic game, simply because it's a classic 4th wall break.
+Swaggerlish69 You aren't the only one. Never played any of the games from the Animal Crossing series. But I do understand the hate you're feeling cause Resetti is one of the Assist Trophies in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
The Hyperdimension Neptunia Series breaks the 4th wall more than any other game I've seen. Play at least 1 of their games and count how many times they break the 4th wall. btw, the start of the game is a console war and all 4 main character represents a console.
Paolopcj :D Yeah :D I just recently saw the Deadpool movie and that was really good. Hey, if they ever make a Neptunia movie hopefully there'd be some fourth-wall breaking in it as well
***** Ahahaha! Good one XD Anyway, It's quite Possible, Although the Fourth Wall Jokes in Neptunia aren't as Constant/frequent as Deadpool. But you do see fourth Wall breaks once in a while in the Neptunia Games. Being as all the Characters are aware they're in a Video Game. Although Neptune seems to break the fourth wall the most out of all the characters. However, Neptunia is more of a Parody/Satire Series. But I LOVE it regardless of what other people say! XD
hum the Assassin's Creed 2 one isn't a 4th wall breaking thing -.- Minerva is really talking to Desmond and not to us players it is all explained in the next games as well (Brotherhood and I do think that it is mentioned in 3) so yeah even if it is only an honorable mention it's a fail once again Watchmojo failing on the research part
I'm Nori She was looking at the distance, it would be the same if the camera was to the side or back of minerva she would look desmond only, we don't know if in the animus desmond sees what Ezio sees as if he was Ezio, or if he is just a 3rd person with a phantom like presence so yeah it really isn't a 4th wall break
I remember the first time I experienced a fourth wall break in Clock Tower II: The Struggle Within. If you examine the poster in Ashley's room, you'll see that it's the poster for the original PS1 Clock Tower game and Alyssa will say, "This isn't a game!" in a scared voice. It gave me chills
Quest for Truth Its an honorable mention, meaning that they are saying its a fourth wall break when its not if its talking to another character in the game.
Jack Templer Yayyy! I was expecting it to show up too. Not in the list because I think that's the only one in the whole series, but it definitely deserved an honorable mention.
albema2 It's not the only one in the whole series. In Jak II, when Daxter's reading off the agreement to race for Krew, he reads that they have to agree to give the money earned from "Toy rights, shoe lines, mood rings, game rights..." (he looks at the camera) "GAME RIGHTS?!"
Really? Mr. Resetti doesn't even get an honorable mention? Come on, when he deletes your file for resetting too much in the original game was so damn scary back then!
Good selection, as always! :) But I think C&C Generals worths a honorable mention. When you are playing with the terrorists, you can control a slave, which says the following sentences randomly: - I'm hungry! - Can I have some shoes? - You change your mind often! XD
None 4th wall break video without Deadpool... The scene from Assassins Creed at the beginning of the video is not a 4th wall break, she talk to Desmond...
The WHOLE Hyperdimension Neptunia series. Almost every character, quest, situation, etc, all of it is essentially a C4 to the fourth wall, as many say before
I would have to disagree with Assassin's creed breaking the 4th wall. Juno, or whatever the fuck her name was, was talking to Desmond, not to the player. She knew Desmond would use the animus to see Ezio's memories so she sent him a message, through Ezio.
It was literally meant to mindfuck you, she technically was breaking the fourth wall, she turns to you, the camera, and your suppose to assume its you until she says desmond.
She was breaking the other fourth wall lol. Assassins creed is kind of a weird one, since you are playing Desmond, who is “playing” Ezio...so she broke the fourth wall with Ezio’s “player,” but not Desmond’s. :-/
RavionUltimate That’s a double reference, since you are referring to the movie, “Juno”, but the Juno in the movie is a reference to Juno, the Roman goddess of pregnancy and childbirth. Do I get two brownies?
7:30 Actually...Captain walker saying "We did this already!" Has 2 meanings, the first 1 is him breaking the 4th wall of how he already did the chopper gunner prolonged, the 2nd meaning is him slowly but surly realizing his in a time loop made by hell when he killed himself at the end of the games multiple endings where he's experiencing his fall from grace over and over and over again
How the hell is Hyperdimension Neptunia not on this list, it makes fourth wall breaking moments all the time and countless references outside the fourth wall!!!
"Even though you didn't bring me what I asked for, I've decided to let you use that stash to share weapons between my minions! Specifically the ones that, uh, that you control. (beat) Look, it's for twinking items between your characters." -Claptrap, Borderlands 2
I'm surprised The Bard's Tale wasn't on here. It's practically littered with fourth wall breaks as the Bard and the Narrator argue and the game makes fun of almost every RPG trope.
when i turned it in back to gamestop i told the guy at the counter about 'i found a super secret easter egg where you play as joker so i should get more money for this game!'
I remember when I was a kid I used to play a game called "woody and the black diamond" or something like that. Sometimes when you crashed woody would knock on the screen and say somethink along the lines of "Hey! Is anyone playing this game? It's really starting to hurt with all these crashes" or his monkey would say "Ehh, calm down. It's just a game!"
I love the joke in To The Moon where you have to remember who David morphed into in Animorphs, and when you ask River she says you could have just Googled it. Classic.
You guys are Insane if the Hyperdimension Neptunia series is not on the top 10, that game breaks the 4th wall to the point it references other games, and even references anime.
Fidget: "Aaah, he'll buy them at a high price!" Trader: (confused) "I...well, yes. Yes, I will." :D To all of those who don't know: it is a Resident Evil 4 reference. ;) Not sure if it counts as a 4th wall break, but still....
Does anyone here remember gamerinformer yelling at you for liking fidget?"If you think fidget is adorable you should live in the hell you created" something like that.
I think due to the diversity in TV UIs today it would be less effective in breaking the forth wall... with volume UIs looking different between brands and sometimes even models. Would be awesome if it could be done right though.
Yeah but just like some of there other hidden gems it will probably never see the sunlight again... bad pun incoming... Eternal Darkness (Bum Bum Bummmmmm.)
WWE 2011 when you play christians wrestlemania you fit a time machine in your pocket and the Edge is like "yo how'd you do that?" Christian "video game physics"
Wouldn't Edge telling Christian "It isn't 1999" be considered a fourth wall break, considering that Linda McMahon had all Attitude Era footage removed from WWE's website and RUclips channel at that time? I would like to think that'd be a forth wall, because WWE didn't even mention their highest boom period for years until 2012-2013.
In Space Quest IV, you have to delete some files from a supercomputer. One of the files on the computer is Space Quest IV itself. Should you delete that, the game immediately quits.
I think my favorite fourth wall break moment would be in Skylanders Trap Team, when Kaos gets powered by Traptanium and he’s able to see you and speak to you through the TV.
What you've just written is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in these comments is now dumber for reading it.
This is for you dummy: "The fourth wall is the imaginary "wall" at the front of the stage in a traditional three-walled box set in a proscenium theatre, through which the audience sees the action in the world of the play. Speaking directly to or otherwise acknowledging the audience through a camera in a film or television program, or through this imaginary wall in a play, is referred to as "breaking the fourth wall" and is considered a technique of metafiction, as it penetrates the boundaries normally set up by works of fiction. This can also occur in literature and video games when a character acknowledges the reader or player."
1. Metal gear- "what happened to the music?" 2. Guitar hero live- "can you hit the notes on screen please" 3. Black ops 1- "hey treyarch can we have a different objective" 4. Saints row 3- fake game crashes 5. Minecraft (PC Edition)- congrats you broke the game ( when game crashes)
I loved in Deadpool the game, when you take too much damage and Deadpool says "I'm sorry, but can you pass the controller to someone who KNOW what they are doing?"
MrKlausbaudelaire THEY HAVE NO FUCKING IDEA AND NOW MY ASS IS GONE
Deadpool
...nice dick.
MrKlausbaudelaire THANK YOU VERY MUCH
I APPRECIATE THAT
MrKlausbaudelaire Nice Soul Eater picture,bruh!
One of many reasons why Deadpool's called "The Merc with a Mouth."

Wasn't that with The Riddler? But I gotta admit that was pretty fantastic
+Question 90% sure it was joker, although I haven't played it for a couple of years now so could be mistaken
Mooseflame The IVth that might be a 50/50 joke/fourth wall break
Definitely felt like a fourth wall break at the time
They criticize Deadpool and Kid Icarus because the wall breaks are repetitive and predictable, yet they put Eternal Darkness at number one..
But in Eternal Darkness, it's a gameplay mechanic.
Viktor Johansson a gameplay mechanic that gets old
borrowedtoe and its annoying if you just want to play the game indeed:)
Kandiell I stopped falling for them pretty quick, but I admire the creativity of the developers
Deadpool's famous gimmick is breaking the 4th wall. so why wouldn't he do it in his game. And they don't do the same break the same way. Sometimes he's confused about the graphics, sometimes he's laughing at the game's plot holes, and sometimes he argues with his agent.

in assassins creed the goddess didnt break the fourth wall, the message was meant for desmond miles
+Andy Faull If that were the case she would've still looked through Ezio's eyes, as the animus lets you experience the memories of your ancestors as if you were them.
+Andy Faull when i saw that that i was like "are you talking to me because my name is desmond," *looks around*

Andy Faull it's a crack on the fourth wall as she stares at where desmond and the player can be seen, 50/50
Agreed. They should have replaced it with the ones in some of the Spyro games.
I'm very dissappointed Hyperdimension Neptunia doesnt make the list. Neptune completely destroys the 4th wall

Games57584 That's why it's the best game EVER! XD
So.. Dead pool wasn't number one.. Why? His whole game was a 4th wall break?!
They said why.
Yea I know what they said. But its Deadpool. He is the GOD of stupid ass jokes and 4th wall brakes. It;s like.. his meaning in life.
He should have been first cause of all the 4th wall breaks
They mentioned that Deadpools 4th wall breaks were great, but turn repetitive after a while, that's why they didn't make it number 1, because there were some games that made better jokes/4th wall breaks
Because dead pool sucks (as a video game I love the guy himself but not as a game)
One of my faves is in the Super Smash Brothers series where characters KO'd above the upper blast line sometimes smash right into the 4th wall.
one of my favourite 4th wall breaks in Kid Icarus Uprisng
Palutena(P):You know, pit. bows can be VERY useful.
Pit(p): Yeah, i know! i used one in the latest Brawl!

Max Payne 1, the second time he gets drugged, when he realizes he's in a graphic novel AND a videogame.
Haha, yeah they totally forgot that.
"I feel like someone is controlling my every move and enjoying countless repetitions of my moves in slow motion..."
you would think they would do at least 720p on there videos
Yeah it's pretty un-shway.
lol doesn't bother me my internet can't handle that
You would think after almost a decade of youtube people who know you have to wait for the videos to get encoded. Give it a min
zllamathegamer ikr
sakib bari ..... You're joking right? They NEVER have 720p. Go to a video they uploaded 2 months ago! They don't do HD! Don't insult him for an error you made.
I'd have Kid Icarus Uprising in the top three due to how well written they are.
Agreed.
Pit: "You talk too much!"
Thanatos: "ME! BUT YOU'VE BEEN TALKING THIS WHOLE GAME!"
Deadpool shoulda been #1. Dont hate, its just my opinion
Ah, well said.
Bc deadpool is the best and should always be number 1!!! -my opinion ^-^
Crystal Jones he doesnt break the fourth wall he breaks the fifth wall
I would have put Kid Icarus at number one, but that's just biased little old me!
You have your own opinions btw.
Karajan Onocro yup. I know some people would have put it higher or lower, it's all in how you are.
***** Exactly!
Karajan Onocro :)
;)

I would have liked to see an honorable mention of Sonic tapping his foot and looking at you/taking a nap when you don't move for so long in the original sonic game, simply because it's a classic 4th wall break.
That's not really a fourth wall break
Not really a fourth wall break
Resetti from Animal Crossing should have at least been in honorable mentions
+Peridot Card (Not a Gnome) Well said.
Agreed
God! I hate that guy!!
+Swaggerlish69 You aren't the only one. Never played any of the games from the Animal Crossing series. But I do understand the hate you're feeling cause Resetti is one of the Assist Trophies in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

The tutorial for Bard's Tale was great. "Press the B button." "What button?"
i think you guys forgot about mr. resetti from animal crossing... He is in fact working to make you stop HITTING THE GODDAMNED RESET BUTTON!
Jonathan Flores Plus he says "I guess I should thank you for playing/buying this game Animal Crossing: Wild World."
his work is to break the fourth wall XD
Jonathan Flores yeah lol XD
Bowser14456 Month old post. Let's not forget New Leaf...where he's out of the job because of universal fan hatred.
SnivyTries yeah...but I rebuilt the center.
Hyperdimension Neptunia? Where's Neptune, she's probably the best example of Fourth-Wall Breaking so she should've been at least an honourable mention
you got that right!
+Paolopcj :D I love that series, it's so funny. Neps and Deadpool are my #1 and 2 picks to be honest
Nep-Nep and Deadpool are the Kings and Queen of 4th wall breaking and maybe they can break Reality as well!!
Paolopcj :D Yeah :D I just recently saw the Deadpool movie and that was really good. Hey, if they ever make a Neptunia movie hopefully there'd be some fourth-wall breaking in it as well
I hope they can make a Neptunia Movie or a Second Season of Hyperdimension Neptunia!
no neptune from the hyperdimension neptunia series? she brakes the 4 the Wall alot! in my opinion she does
I know! there is no justice
4th wall* I was typing that on my phone -_-* stupid phone
CALL NISA!! WE NEED MORE JUSTICE!
+GoldCraft55 I know right, I love those games. Neptune is awesome she should've been in here, she's number 1 in my opinion
Other Characters break the 4th wall... She invites it to play games with her, dances with it and then throws it off the Rainbow Road. AND WE LOVE IT!
I thought one Hyperdimension Neptunia games would be on this list because that is one of the reason why people like the series so much.
The *Hyperdimension Neptunia* Games Break the Fourth Wall once in a while,
However, Deadpool is the King of Fourth Wall Breaks! Nuff Said!
*****
Ahahaha! Good one XD
Anyway, It's quite Possible, Although the Fourth Wall Jokes in Neptunia aren't as Constant/frequent as Deadpool.
XD
get back to my belly's kurama
Honestly, I think Kid Icarus: Uprising is a good match for that game regarding it's fourth wall breaks.
hum the Assassin's Creed 2 one isn't a 4th wall breaking thing -.- Minerva is really talking to Desmond and not to us players it is all explained in the next games as well (Brotherhood and I do think that it is mentioned in 3) so yeah even if it is only an honorable mention it's a fail once again Watchmojo failing on the research part
Minerva did look at you during the scene, hence why it was only an honorable mention because the ones on the list are just better.
Never played the games but maybe she was looking at "you" the video game player as the one who controls the person named??
Yeah. Or, at least, that was the intention.
You could think of it as breaking the fourth wall within the fourth wall. Or something weird and Inception-y like that.
Aww, not a mention of Tank Dempsey from the Zombies mode :P
I thought we were going to see that too!
He broke the fourth wall?
***** he says things like " hey player, why don't you drop the chips and get me some ammo"
Fuck Zombies mode, and fuck that piece of shit game.
I wouldn't call the assassin's creed one a 4th wall break because they are still talking about someone else in the game and telling the future
It appears in the video, but it is not on the list, is it?
Quest for Truth
It was an honorable mention
Quest for Truth Its an honorable mention, meaning that they are saying its a fourth wall break when its not if its talking to another character in the game.
It's an in universe 4th wall break. Remember, you're playing as Desmond playing as Ezio
TheGarfield0 Its talking to desmond in the animus, not the player.
I think the one from Jak 3 should have been in the honourable mentions. When someone says "this is not a game!" and they both look at the camera.
Jack Templer YESSSSSSSSSS When you're in that desert city and that priest girl is talking to you.
Really? Mr. Resetti doesn't even get an honorable mention? Come on, when he deletes your file for resetting too much in the original game was so damn scary back then!
Hayden Beissel I know right? I was mad that animal crossing wasnt even an honorable mention!
Mr. RESETti. Get it?
Good selection, as always! :)
But I think C&C Generals worths a honorable mention. When you are playing with the terrorists, you can control a slave, which says the following sentences randomly:
- I'm hungry!
- Can I have some shoes?
- You change your mind often!
XD
I love Kid Icarus's 4th wall breaks, they're hilarious
They should've done deadpool marvel vs capcom. It doesn't get boring and it's goddamn hilarious.
***** HEY! WERE YOU RECORDEING? YOU BETTER HAD BEEN! I AM NOT DOING THAT AGAAIN
***** I completely agree. Beating the shit out of your opponent with your own health bar is one of the best fourth wall breaks ever.
***** FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
one of jak 3s daxter death commentary where daxter says " this is what happens when they drop my name from the title " xD
5:00 Awwwww! He's so cute.
I'm suprised that Hyperdimension Neptunia isn't here.Seriously,Neptune is like the queen of breaking the 4th wall
None 4th wall break video without Deadpool...
The scene from Assassins Creed at the beginning of the video is not a 4th wall break, she talk to Desmond...
what about oneshot
When I played Arkham Asylum, I seriously shouted WTF! when I read the 'use the middle stick' hint.
I know I was like what middle stick and had me pressing the PS Button hahaha. I never played a game that did that to me before.
The WHOLE Hyperdimension Neptunia series. Almost every character, quest, situation, etc, all of it is essentially a C4 to the fourth wall, as many say before
Undertale has a lot of 4th wall breaks. They can actually be kinda creepy, like Omega Flowey
CHARA
Unfortunately this video came out more than a year before Undertale was released
and sans says "you're a dirty hacker aren't you?
And when Sans makes a pun, HE TURNS TO THE CAMERA (Sansminati confirmed)
*****
xD
YAY KIDD ICARRUSSS
I love that game, it is truly underrated.
yup it is literally one of the best games of all time for me :P it really is underrated
ya same, glad to so another person agrees. Unfortunately it may be a while till we get a sequel.
yeah... what was it 20 years :P
Yay! Two more people! :D
I would have to disagree with Assassin's creed breaking the 4th wall. Juno, or whatever the fuck her name was, was talking to Desmond, not to the player. She knew Desmond would use the animus to see Ezio's memories so she sent him a message, through Ezio.
It was literally meant to mindfuck you, she technically was breaking the fourth wall, she turns to you, the camera, and your suppose to assume its you until she says desmond.
lylatfox4 Unless you are slow, you were MEANT to immediately realize she was talking about Desmond.
She was breaking the other fourth wall lol. Assassins creed is kind of a weird one, since you are playing Desmond, who is “playing” Ezio...so she broke the fourth wall with Ezio’s “player,” but not Desmond’s. :-/
Minerva is Juno> So Minerva is pregnant? *DUN DUN DUHHHHHHHH* Whoever gets this reference gets a cooker and a brownie
RavionUltimate That’s a double reference, since you are referring to the movie, “Juno”, but the Juno in the movie is a reference to Juno, the Roman goddess of pregnancy and childbirth. Do I get two brownies?
"My grandmother can beat the game saving as much as you do!" - Postal 2 Dude
And we can't forget about The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. At one point you had to close your DS in order to stamp something on your map.
That is neither 4th wall breaking not a good game. It sucks
it wasn't that bad.....
jumpe5555555 Opinions.
"Darn you, balanced game play!" XD I was thinking the same thing Pit. :|
You should make a part two! (With Undertale and the Hyperdimension Neptunia.. semicolon.. series. XD)
(beat) Look, it's for twinking items between your characters."
-Claptrap, Borderlands 2
Then again, all of the viewers would die if they heard claptrap's sweet voice
Spec Ops: the line should have made the top 10, but it would be spoilers.
Mr. Divery I managed to read it.
Neptune? where is Neptune? Y NO NEPS?! JUSTICE MUST BE SERVED!!!! WHY AM I SCREAMING THIS?! XD
I'm surprised The Bard's Tale wasn't on here. It's practically littered with fourth wall breaks as the Bard and the Narrator argue and the game makes fun of almost every RPG trope.
When the batman one started i thought my game broke so i kept restarting it until i found out it was supposed to happen
It never happened to me O.o
when i turned it in back to gamestop i told the guy at the counter about 'i found a super secret easter egg where you play as joker so i should get more money for this game!'
I'm so glad Scarecrow is back in the next Arkham game.
matthew walsh Thats the most idiotic thing I've ever heard in my life.
I am glad scarecrow is back too the things batman will see will be class and it can get the joker back in the game for a short bit
What about Call Of Duty Black Ops? All the time in zombies the characters say stuff like "HEY, PLAYER! PUT THE CHIPS DOWN AND GET ME MORE AMMO"
Only Dempsey says that but I know right they should of made Dempsey at least an honorable mention.
KID ICARUS UPRISING FTW.
UGH GOD I REMEMBER I WAS IN LOVE WITH THAT GAME MARCH 2013.
I wonder why Daxter wasn't mentioned? He breaks the forth wall almost every time Jak dies.
They never mention the Jak games it's quite annoying
Yeah, i agree.
I was kind of hoping Hyperdimension Neptunia would be mentioned in this list.
I love the joke in To The Moon where you have to remember who David morphed into in Animorphs, and when you ask River she says you could have just Googled it. Classic.
No Neptune? The CPU of Planeptune herself?
Video-game Master wait... Maybe Neptune is the one who made this video!
why u no have Hyperdimension Neptunia!?
When there's a 4th wall list, Deadpool has to be in it
a fourth wall break list cannot exist without Deadpool. if one does, put Deadpool as it may and will repair the fourth wall
i honestly didn't expect deadpool to appear in the list the way he did
Or Pit.
Don't ask.
Morgan Lockrow Or CPU Neptune
You guys are Insane if the Hyperdimension Neptunia series is not on the top 10, that game breaks the 4th wall to the point it references other games, and even references anime.
Very clever with the volume!
No Undertale!?
No HDN!?
No sense this makes!
Are you Yoda's friend?
I thought some of the 4th wall jokes in 'Dust: An Elysian Tale' were great.
Fidget: "Aaah, he'll buy them at a high price!"
Trader: (confused) "I...well, yes. Yes, I will."
:D
To all of those who don't know: it is a Resident Evil 4 reference. ;) Not sure if it counts as a 4th wall break, but still....
Does anyone here remember gamerinformer yelling at you for liking fidget?"If you think fidget is adorable you should live in the hell you created" something like that.
Psycho Mantis should've been 1.
"Hey, player! Drop the chips and get me some ammo!"
"I have been recognized by treyar- Uhh ... ZE ILLUMINATI!" -Richtofen
Eternal Darkness was an awesome game! I really wish they would remake it on the new systems.
I think due to the diversity in TV UIs today it would be less effective in breaking the forth wall... with volume UIs looking different between brands and sometimes even models. Would be awesome if it could be done right though.
RenegadeRukus
those would be easy fixes in a remake, No what they need to is make a sequel or another game that has the same game style.
Nintendo owns Eternal Darkness so it's up to them
Yeah but just like some of there other hidden gems it will probably never see the sunlight again... bad pun incoming... Eternal Darkness (Bum Bum Bummmmmm.)
Eternal darkness 2 was in development for the WiiU but then Silicon Knights fucked up.
I find the lack of Nep disturbing.
ikr
Darth Vader?
WWE 2011 when you play christians wrestlemania you fit a time machine in your pocket and the Edge is like "yo how'd you do that?" Christian "video game physics"
Wouldn't Edge telling Christian "It isn't 1999" be considered a fourth wall break, considering that Linda McMahon had all Attitude Era footage removed from WWE's website and RUclips channel at that time? I would like to think that'd be a forth wall, because WWE didn't even mention their highest boom period for years until 2012-2013.
You could've add Nep Nep from Hyperdimension Neptunia in honorable mentions....
In Space Quest IV, you have to delete some files from a supercomputer. One of the files on the computer is Space Quest IV itself. Should you delete that, the game immediately quits.
:O that sounds pretty cool! Man why dont i own a game that breaks the forth wall? >:c
*Thank you Game Grumps*
The entirety of Kid Icarus: Uprising? xD Also, what about some of the stuff from Spore?
TheVergilus
What?
Just did a CTRL+F search for 8 in the comments,
Current result 9,802
Watchmojo what have you done? .... 8
That's mostly because of one comment from one person, who typed 7560 "8".
I think my favorite fourth wall break moment would be in Skylanders Trap Team, when Kaos gets powered by Traptanium and he’s able to see you and speak to you through the TV.
kid Icarus is such a good game
Forth wall?!? I mean these are 3d-games? What are they talking about?! Do we need to have 4d-glasses or what?!
What you've just written is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in these comments is now dumber for reading it.
When the characters talk to you. When they acknowledge your there.
This is for you dummy:
"The fourth wall is the imaginary "wall" at the front of the stage in a traditional three-walled box set in a proscenium theatre, through which the audience sees the action in the world of the play.
Heh heh, you're dumb!
When the characters know there in a game or tv show.
Where's Hyperdimension Neptunia? That game franchise is the definition of fourth wall breaking
1. Metal gear- "what happened to the music?"
2. Guitar hero live- "can you hit the notes on screen please"
3. Black ops 1- "hey treyarch can we have a different objective"
4. Saints row 3- fake game crashes
5. Minecraft (PC Edition)- congrats you broke the game ( when game crashes)
