I always loved "The Lion King 1 and a half", and Timon and Pumba's running commentary on already seen moments.
Yes me too
I never saw that one so I don't know
yeah, for me, that was the best movie that best broke the fourt wall and so well, even Timon and Pumba themselves react to the movie like us the spectators.
Yeah how did that whole
Movie not make this list
@@allison3852 I'd honestly recommend it! It even gives some of Timone's backstory! If you have Disney +, it's on there.
And the "real" reason why everyone bowed before Simba, lol. (I won't post why because spoilers, but if you know the two and their humor, well...Take a guess, lol)
Whether it's Kuzco's narrations, or Yzma and Kronk following the dotted line, the 4th wall breaks are just one reason why _The Emperor's New Groove_ is one of the most hilarious Disney Movies ever.
I agree😂😂😂😂
yep
I fully agree.
Certainly one of my favorites, and I agree with whatever film critic said (not exact quote, here): TENG is what might have happened if the guys from Termite Terrace had made a Disney feature." ("Termite Terrace" is the affectionate (I hope) nickname the animators at WB [e.g., Chuck Jones, Friz Freleng, Robert McKimson, etc.] gave their workplace.) 😄😄😄
When the movie first came out for DVD and VHS, whenever my family decide to rent a movie from a nearby video rental place(not Bluckbuster before they went out of business), I continued to get the Emperor’s New Grove because of how funny the movie is and considering it was my very first movie with David Spade, my parents and sisters would be annoyed I wanted to rent the movie again. A favorite memory.
Everyone loves a good fourth wall break! Especially if it's in an animated Disney movie, In fact the 4th wall breaking scenes are some of the most iconic moments in these particular films!!!
Yep
I love it when break the fourth wall in the movies, it feels a lot like the viewers are talking to us...
I never thought about the 4th wall breaks when i watched "The Emperor's New Groove" as a kid. But now ,i totally get it and find it hilarious😂😂😂
Same here!😂😂😂😂😂😂
I was going to say the same thing!
Seriously, that's what the movie is all about. I guess you're pretty young
when i was a kid i was often confused by all the fourth wall breaks i used to always wonder why Kuzco was talking to himself or why Yzma and Kronk were looking at the dotted lines
Don't forget Bartok the Magnificent which is owned by Disney now that he also breaks the fourth wall
Fourth wall jokes never get old. 🤣
KUZCO is the king of breaking the forth wall 😂😂😂
I love The Emperor New Groove
They should call him King Kuzco. Ruler of 4th wall breaks.😂😂😂😂😂😂
It was so obvious that 'The Emperor's New Groove' will be the first on this list. This movie is so funny (and underrated)
great video!
So obvious that I'm super shocked that I didn't think of it! Lol
Not only Eugene narrates the story in Tangled, but Rapunzel at the end also. Trust me.
I love it when in the movies the characters break the 4th wall, like addressing themselves in front of us.. Although for me the movie that best broke the 4th wall was The Lion King 1 1/2, oh yeah: their jokes, comments, and their reactions to the movie itself, just like us the viewers.. Also: The Lion King, Tangled, Winnie the Pooh, Zootopia and the Aristocats.. and really in Snowhite the Evil queen broke the 4rth wall? I didn't realize much
Yeah...IMO, to call the scene with the Wicked Queen a 4th Wall break is a bit of a stretch. Talking to the audience--though really talking to oneself--is a time-honored custom that goes back at least as far as Shakespeare. When Hamlet delivers his iconic Soliloquy, does anybody seriously think HE'S breaking the 4th Wall?
How about in the George of the Jungle movies? They were breaking the fourth wall as well!
Exactly! I posted something to that effect before I read your post. I think the reason they got left out is that they're not animated (although they were based on a cartoon series from the wonderful folks at Jay Ward Productions).
I love it when my favorite characters break the 4th wall, especially when they talk directly to me.
Lilo and Stitch’s borderline 4th Wall Break is just adorable
I like when movies and tv go meta and break the fourth wall. I think that’s a reason I always liked Ferris Bueller and Malcolm In The Middle
I always loved Pinocchio especially with Jimminy Cricket talking to the audience and the Queen from Snow White scared the shit out of me as a kid . Especially when she turned into the witch
These fourth wall breaks are pretty funny!
The matter is that Amazon came up with *GPT44X* and now everyone flippin out? Wtf seriously what did the guys imagine would happen? Obviously it can only go to the next level from this and I want to be one of the first to be there when it all happens. I don't know about you guys but this is a one in a lifetime journey for all of us and I'm just happy to be part of it
I’m sorry but what does this comment have to do with this video?
@@signergirl1absolutely nothing. They just wanted attention. The more people react and comment about wtf this has to do with anything the further up the list this comment goes 🤦
Disney Films That Break The Fourth Wall
Peter Griffin: Funny That You Own Our Show Disney Isn't that right...
Deadpool: Disney Brought our whole studio.
I think Turning Red is another good Disney (and Pixar) movie that breaks the 4th wall, which involves Mei Lee talking directly to the audience about her life.
Mulan:"Nope!"
Lion King:"Pumbaa not in front of the kids."
Aaladin:"Made ya look."
I definitely would’ve added “The Sword and the Stone.” It has a little narration, but the best fourth wall break is at the very end. When Arthur becomes king, Merlin assures him he will become great and famous, and one day his story will become a motion picture. Arthur looks at him in confusion and says, “A motion picture?” Merlin replies, “That right, my boy. No commercials, of course.” The the “The End” title card runs, so it implies that this motion picture is what you just watched, and if you watched it in a theater, it probably had no commercials.
My top 3 favorite 4th wall Disney movies are Pinocchio, The Emperor's New Groove and Aladdin 💕
What is everyone thinking now that Amazon put up the *GPT44X* for everyone? Was rumored for a while but I didn't think they would rly do so
Ok some of these 4th wall breaks were hilarious!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The Emperor's New Groove had the funniest Fourth Wall breaks.
The best Disney films know when to be aware of the audience.
Alan-a-Dale introducing himself to the viewers by name in Robin Hood is my all-time favorite 4th-wall break!
195: I LOVE IT that you call The Great Mouse Detective unique. I love that movie as a kid
Several of these are not or may not have been 4th wall breaks:
#20) Flynn could have just been telling his and Rapunzel's story in general, not telling the us, but to the people in-universe.
#19) The queen was likely just talking to herself and merely looking forward, it just looked like she was looking at the camera.
#18) Wasn't Tarzan just looking back at the apes he had swung past?
#17) Could Phoebus just been referring to the music in the church?
#15) Mushu was likely just talking to himself and merely looking forward, it just looked like he was looking at the camera.
#14) Sebastian and Ursula were likely just talking to themselves and merely looking forward, it just looked like they were looking at the camera.
#13) Olivia was likely just looking forward and it just looked like she was looking at the camera.
#12) Wasn't the croc looking at Peter and Wendy?
#9) Can't explain the light, but Lilo and Stitch could have merely been looking forward, it just looked like they were looking at the camera.
#8) That's not a 4th wall break, it was clever writing for us, not reality to in-universe.
#5) Timon could have been referring to Simba and looking at him, he just used "kids" in general. Simba could have been just giving a confused look, it just looked like he was looking at the camera.
SO really only 9 of these were actual 4th wall breaks.
I've always thought Timon was referring to Simon, I didn't even know it was kids, plural.
For "Hunchback" I'd lean more towards Clopin's opening line when he introduces the audience, with the Aladdin movies every time Genie's onscreen (at least in Robin William's moments) he easily breaks the fourth wall, and most of the "looking towards the camera" references could have just been meant to emphasize the shock on the characters' face
Kronk is single-handedly the best villain sidekick. What’s not to love?
Damn. He's so good, I didn't even consider him a villain, until now.....
His spinach puffs, maybe?
Just kidding, that's the only way I eat spinach, and I'd like to try his.
I love that moment in Milan 2 where Yao directly asks Who am I talking to? 🤣
I like that moment too 🤭
I was expecting #1 to be ENCANTO and it wasn't even on the list! I mean, Mirabel sings to the audience all the time!
Oh yeah, I think that yes
Tbh, I feel like Lion King 1 1/2 was an even bigger wall breaker than LK. Because the whole thing is basically Timone and Pumbaa narrating the story, showing the movie, etc. Even the ending has all these Disney characters coming into "the theater" at the end, and they're rewinding it in order to play it for them.
Idk if the ending is actually a wall break, but I still say 1 and 1/2 was a better wall break than the first Lion King.
I like these fourth wall breaks, they're my childhood. Happy sunday Ms Mojo, take care and God bless you, greetings from Colombia.
Me too love it
@@RapFanatic4ever And i thought i was the only one.
That was Robin Williams for you! ALWAYS a wall breaker when it matters.
Robin Williams was truly a great actor, he will be missed.
193: The fourth wall break at the ending of The Aristocats creeped me out when I was little. It was years ago
all of these are my favorite fourth wall breaks in disney
I never saw the line "Not in front of the kids" as a fourth wall break. I always thought "the kids" referred to Simba.
Its definitely talking about the audience because Simba is only one, so why would it be plural?
well yes too, although with "kids" Timon also refers to the fact that the movie is also for kids
He was talking about the audience because Simba is one "kid'
Wreck-It Ralph: Hey, aren’t you forgetting something? What about me? Don’t I count?
Amazing video of fourth wall breaks in Disney animated movies ms mojo, fantastic job.
Another set of fourth wall breaking comes from Disney's 1994 series Gargoyles, which has references to at least Star Wars and Bambi in the first episodes alone. I'm really sad that not many people talk about or even acknowledge that Gargoyles is a part of Disney.
Hector Rivera does it too when he sings 'Remember Me'.
0:38: Thank you for also mentioning "Eugene", the real name (or actually it's Horrace, but he doesn't like that name)
I love how in the lion king when Timon says pumba not in front of the kids and pumba says oh sorry that’s when Simba. Looks at the camera all confused he’s like what are you talking about? That’s the funniest part of the movie
Awww!! I think Aladdin should've been 1... Still #2 is close enough
Tamatoa also breaks the fourth wall when he asks the audience if they 'get it' after his line about 'get the hook'. This is a pun that most adults will get, harking back to a time when talent show acts would literally 'get the hook' (be pulled offstage by a stage-hand using a shepherd's crook or something similar) if the audience didn't like them.
the lion king also has a whole movie of fourth wall breaks: lion king 1 and 1/2
Cartoon Network breaks the fourth wall almost the same or more than Disney.😂😂 Breaking the fourth wall is always my favorite parts of the show that do it.
rw:oh i have many, but the 2 i love most of all "It's THE END" from ARISTOCATS and from Timon and Pumbaa from the lion king
Pumbaa: Everytime that i! - 😩
Timon: Pumbaa! 😳,Not in front of the Kids😉
Pumbaa: Oh! Sorry 😊
*Simba Looks and Breaks the 4th wall too *
Priceless ^_^
I think the Emperor’s new Grove was the number 1 time Disney movies broke the Fouth wall.
The Lion King. - Pumbaa! Not in the front of the kids. Oh sorry. 13:44
i can't agree better for #1 entry
The Lion King is my favorite for a fourth wall break
196: From your videos of Disney anything, this is a first for Robin Hood to rank high
I always thought if the characters looked directly at the camera it's more to show the workers behind the scenes of the movies showing off how the characters are feeling in those particular moments.
Unless, of course, they actually talk directly to the audience like with The Lion King, The Emperor's New Groove, and those post credits scenes like with Moana, Hercules, and Aladdin.
But, who knows I could be wrong and it is pretty cool to know about if it's true. :)
Though in Peter Pan I can most definitely tell that the Crocodile is looking right directly at us while going after Captain Hook! Lol:)
Me: rewatches Emperor’s New Groove
Also me: BREAKING THE FOURTH WALL!!
194: I was 4 years old when I saw Brother Bear in theaters with my mom. Let me just say, the ending also creeped me out. Again years ago but I get easily scared
I thought it was pretty funny.
In one scene from Dora and Friends: Into the City when Dora, Pablo and Kate are asking the viewers why the sea serpent ducked down into the water and its all because of very loud noises and that which would explain that Kate accidentally popped her balloon sword which gives the pirates an idea on purpose and how the way getting the treasure chest back after the sea serpent would help Dora & Pablo take back the treasure that the pirates stole from them in the first place.
Mushu’s nope always gets me to laugh
Old pixar movies also break the 4th wall with those bloopers.
good vid guys
so many good wall breaks so little time
Finally, a countdown that gives The Emperor's New Groove the accolades it deserves. It and A Bug's Life are probably my 2 favorite Disney films.
18:28 I know, right! And it was because of the lower-case, no-bracket captioning that made me think that breaking the fourth wall was a bad thing! Maybe...
Disney had some good 4th wall breaks, but Warner Brothers classic cartoons were masters at it.
It's almost like The Emperor's New Groove doesn't even have a 4th wall.
Same for lion king 1 1/2, where timon and pumbaa are in a cinema pausing it often.
Even if it’s the fourth wall break it still the book is really violent violent but kind of creepy
which movie
Disney has the best music
Emperor's New Groove absolutely destroyed the 4th Wall
Try OBLITERATED!!!
Thank For The Video 🙊🤯🤣😂😅😆🤩👌💗😁💐🌟🥇🏆
Very good 0:50
8:05 😂
Damn Mushu, that was too cold, even for me. I'm quite a hardened guy, and can easily make decisions so hard, everyone around me starts to cry, and say i'm too cold inside, but Mushu might just take the price for that. I can't complain though
besides the BGM, in all probability *there was already a service of the Divine Office/Liturgy of the Hours underway after the Feast of Fools scene* ; proof of that is the soft choral BGM when Esmeralda enters the Cathedral for the first time and she was looking around, the Archdeacon lighting the candles while conversing with Esmeralda, & the "Christians" during "God Help the Outcasts" sequence
192: I didn’t notice since I was little
4:07 Is it bad that I wish Hugo acted more like Duckman?
7:15 (Holds hand up) You'll learn when you're older...
She didn't mention when Hades says "guys, guys, it's only halftime" at the halfway point in the movie.
You should make the same list but with live action Disney movies
I actually thought that Tick Toc was staring at Peter Pan spying on Captain Hook, but if you say so
I’m not sure if this counts as a fourth wall break, but in the movie The Croods, Sandy and Belt do the ‘dun dun dun’ in front of the words ‘The End.’
Also, in Ever After High, Maddie Hatter can actually communicate with the narrators. (I know it’s not technically Disney, but still.)
You're definitely using the fourth wall very loosely with some entries.
That part in snow white still freaks me out and I am 36 yrs old.
How about in The Aristocats, Thomas O’Malley looks at the camera, and says “Come to think of it O’Malley, you’re not a cat, you’re a rat! Right? Right!”?
I never done the one I wonder if you ever do a video of maybe a Pixar movies or something like that breaking the fourth wall
Spiderman and Deadpool keep Breaking the Fourth Wall
4:58
I’ve heard from Hercules and In Monsters Inc.
Just because Characters stare or Look into The Audience for 1-2 Seconds cant really be call a 4th Wall Breaking
15:14This looks familiar
This was a huge hoot!!! Okay, now how about Live Action 4th Wall Breaks. One of my all-time favorite L/A 4thWBreaking movies has to be 1997's *George of the Jungle* --of course, the fact that it was derived from a hilarious cartoon series from the Jay Ward Studios (creators of Rocky and Bullwinkle) probably has something to do with its excellence in breaking that wall! Just one sample: Max (in Cockney accent): Thor! Are you fighting with the Narrator? Thor: Yeah, well, he started it! Narrator: Did not! Thor: Did too! Narrator--well, you can probably see where that was going. 😁😆🤣
How can you forget the Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland?
Stitch VS Rocket! Who the Best in Their Ohana?
If I had to pick one may be Pinocchio
As many times I really did watch Rapunzel & Mulan yet really funny and enjoy it, but still can catch it very equally close that are so interesting best full breaking the fourth wall.
The lion king & The lion king 1/2 where timon and pumba breaks the 4th wall and are the protagonist👍👍👍🤣
The emperor's new groove 🤣🤣🤣 hilariously funny & confusing, but with Moana 🤔 getting good touch but yeah I'm not joking it was until her chicken scream of freaking shock wondering in the ocean with no land.
[ Yeah P. S. Looks like I may turn around someday to watch Aladdin to understand and know the story very well and plus the live action film]
It was in my childhood first time ever...🧸 films and his friends is the first time I ever watch a film with the 4th wall breaking, in the movie where Tigger convince to make Rabbit reason in having another Easter celebrating party again, going out from the book to return back pages in remembering good old memories of celebrating 🐰🐣.
Aladdin's was only better because of one thing...
The Legend that is was and always will be Robin Williams!
But let's be honest.
There could only be one number one.
This is hilarious
The Evil Queen from Snow White also looked into the camera when she said there may be an antidote to the poisoned apple.
That's true.
1. Tangled
2. Tarzan
3. The Little Mermaid
4. Mulan
5. The Lion King
6. Snow White and The 7 Dwafs
7. Pinocchio
8. Moana
9. Aladdin
10. Hercules
11. Brother Bear
12. Emperor's New Grove
You forget a very good one because of the starting of the movie Mary Poppins
I didn't imagine that this would be the day where Amazon runs with *GPT44X* which has been hugely improved ever since the first rumors. Nothing can't be close to that and if I help one person here by showcasing this then I think my day was well spent. Good luck to all of you and stay happy even when times are rough
He knows 6:16
