We live in Pebble Beach and this restaurant has always been a favorite. The oysters, the pernod mushrooms, the flatbreads and the seasonal dishes never disappoint.

Thanks for the suggestions! We watched your video last month to get an idea since we had a trip planned to Carmel-By-The-Sea.
    We just went last week.
On your recommendation, we tried Alto which we enjoyed. I got the chocolate croissant, my husband got the fruit strudel.Yummmmy! I am laughing as I re-watch in order to comment my thanks, as I realised we sat at the same table.
We also tried La Bicyclette. I am going to venture to say- it was the best restaurant I have ever enjoyed. And it was the experience as much as the food. And I have been to Paris and most other major cities. Now. It may have been the ambiance or the fact that it was lovely to enjoy with my husband- but wow. So good. You are right, the gnocchi was incredible. I had the Jardin de Printemps. Whilst the fish was a tad overcooked- didn't matter- once you put it in the sauce it was outstanding. Every restaurant isn't going to cook things 100% perfectly all the time, so I am understanding of it. Plus, did I mention the sauce?? :D
Something we thoroughly enjoyed that was not on your list was Carmel Bakery in Carmel By The Sea on Ocean near the mall. Oh my gosh. Now, I am normally keto-ish (except on vacation) and a small person- but I could have easily eaten like 4 of their pastries all by myself. And their coffee was just fantastic as well as the ambiance of the place. Delightful. You are sitting so close to others that it's nice to have a conversation with strangers, which we adore.
Anyway- sorry for the book- thanks for your excellent insight and suggestions!

Appreciate your review but there are A LOT better places to eat than these. Of course, I’ve lived in the area for more than 30 years so I’ve had the chance to seek out the cream of the crop.
#1 Breakfast = Katy’s Place in Carmel. Cash only restaurant with the widest selection of eggs Benedict I’ve ever seen.
Honorable Mention Breakfast = The Butter House in Seaside. The best shrimp and grits EVER. Spicy and loaded with flavor.
#1 Dinner = The Whaling Station in Monterey. Best steaks in the state of California. But if you’re on any sort of budget, this one will break the bank for you.
Honorable Mention Dinner = The Fish House in Monterey. This tiny little house was converted into an amazing restaurant years ago and is extremely popular. The waiting line often snakes around the building for people trying to get in.
Lunches are a bit of a cr@p shoot. But if I was forced to pick a good lunch place, it’d be London Bridge Pub in Monterey for their excellent fish and chips….and great ales.
