Carmel is beautiful and yes, pricey. The best restaurant (in my opinion) is onlly open for dinner, you must make a reservation becasue it is small and the locals go all the time: "Flying Fish Grill". It's the best quality food, small family run, friendly, cozy and everything they serve is above the anything else in the area.
Vesuvio is a tourist trap. Try Bicyclette (if you can get in).... Xocolatl Chocolate Garden IS one of my favorites. I go there weekly (at least) for no-fooling-around, pure exotic chocolate from all over the world. (Peruvian & Ecuadorian are high on my list)..... Alvarado Brewing Company has the BEST smash burgers to go along with locally brewed beer.
Thank you for this video!!! ♥️🌈🌻 I lived on the Monterey Peninsula for 20 years. Big Love 💗 Yes! Carmel is truly magical. If you go back & you want excellent food from Oaxaca check out La Tortuga in Seaside. Their chicken & Al pastor tacos are so delicious! And the Tortas!!! Many people I worked with in the Service industry in Monterey are from Oaxaca, Mexico. They are the best! ✨💕🦋 sending blessings to you in your adventures.
Carmel is a truely magical place. Perfect place to take a new lover. Especially if you've got some," Disposable Income", to spend! Done it 3 times, 1 week each time. Burn off the calories by incredible hiking opportunities. BTW, the hat makes me sweat just looking at it!
@@DoesntPayFullPrice A local told me about it while I was on a stay-cation and was looking for a quick, breakfast spot. Carmel is down the road from me so I go whenever in that area. Will check out Vesuvio’s next! I always grab a Pine Cone when there for the latest.
Vesuvio is great for happy hour! Mission Ranch's Sunday brunch is the bomb! Alvarado Brewing original site in Monterey is the best of all sites. Way too many good Mexican places in the area - but not in Carmel!
You two are very cute together, and made an informative video while having a good time. However, I feel you gave a rather limited opinion of Mission Ranch." Going for a cocktail mid day and seeing 80 year old people is not your style" My husband and I have stayed at the hotel several times and have enjoyed Mission Ranch restaurant often. They have great food from Filet Mignon and Prime rib to seafood and local farm to table produce such as grilled artichokes. It is almost always packed on the weekends and the piano bar is a hoot. We are in our 50's and enjoyed the delicious food, wine and fun atmosphere and noticed people of all ages enjoying themselves.
The whole town is charming. But expensive. Just be forewarned. If you are on a tight budget I cannot recommend Carmel unless you are just passing through on your way to something else.
The restaurants here are fantastic but very few Michelin stars, in fact none atm i believe. Aubergine, Chez Noire, Foray are Michelin listed. Personal favorite: Bicyclette. Rise and Roam is fantastic, and you must try Ad Astra bread. BEST BREAD IN THE WORLD
@@DoesntPayFullPrice probably I was wrongly told they had lost them. Fantastic for chez noire , that place for $185 fixed is a great way to try a Michelin star

Love this we go to Carmel/ Monterey at least 2x a year, love seeking familiar places 🙂
@@angelabatko8491 it's such a cool place, I see why you go back. Next time I need to try some of the fine dining restaurants
Funny watching you hit all the spots I’ve worked in (electrician). Yes, the Pine Cone knows the town very well.
