Monterey is such a quaint little town, great to visit something outside of SF fisherman's wharf. Monterey was pretty cloudy when we went in the summer but it added to the charm of visiting the butterfly garden and driving the 17 mile drive, while also visiting some of the historical monuments with spectacular coastal views. The coast up in Monterey is unlike the cost of SoCal, so unique!! I hope to visit Monterey someday again for that peaceful vibe
My sister lived in Monterey for 5 years. She just moved back home to MI, but I loved to visit. Lovers Point in Pacific Grove is a must see, and Point Lobos is absolutely amazing.
Abalonetti’s on the wharf - my favorite. They have an outdoor patio on the water, if you have a dog they’ll let you eat here! Calamari, fish & chips, salad, clam chowder- they’re all solid choices. Parking: big pay lot before you step onto the pier/wharf. Ice cream!! Go to Revival which is a few blocks inland on Alvarado St. There’s always a line since it’s popular. The specialty is Bee’s Knees which is a slight honey flavor. One of my friends drives almost 3 hours just to get his fix of Bee’s Knees.
This is a great video for Monterey to get a feel for the area! If you enjoy this, I highly recommend watching the movie Peninsula Nights. It’s a romance drama movie filmed right here in Monterey and Carmel. It captures what it’s really like to live in Carmel and Monterey! I think they filmed at Domenico’s on the wharf too.
I've been to Old Fisherman's Grotto. That trip was the first after covid lockdown. Close to home, quick and easy first trip after covid. We don't usually eat on the wharf, but that place looked so interesting.
California Linda adds that nearby Dennis the Mennis Park is great for a picnic lunch and the Antique Barn at the other end of the street from the Aquarium is a must stop for those who enjoy antiques. Great videos Chris 🎉🎉. The Grotto Restaurant is wheel chair accessible on the lower level. For golfers consider bringing your clubs and making a tee time at Pacific Grove, signature holes feature both the Monterey Bay and the Pacific Ocean. This town is a hidden gem.
I enjoyed checking out Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco, but I think the one in Monterey looks even cooler for what I am seeing here! I really like that there are a lot of great local restaurants here, and $13 for fish and chips at one of the places you showed is quite reasonable.
Thanks for making me totally crazy Monterey! Today I had my 6th ECT. That's right, shock treatment! Since age 10 I have been hated everywhere. I am Lazarus.
Hi Chris. Great walking tour on Monterey's Fisherman's Wharf. Lots of great looking restaurants to enjoy a wonderful meal and enjoy the views. It's great that they kept the old feel of the place. A great place to visit if you can't make it up to S.F. Thanks again and take care.
Wow, went to Monterey thinking the main attraction was the aquarium and Cannery Row. Glad I saw this video but the wife won’t be happy to know that I didn’t take her here 😂
i Monterey i recently visited it while visiting family.my mom & i had yummy 😋 clam🥰 chowder & 💘 churro Soo goodd..I lived-in California Morgan hill boring town
Me and the wife and her mom was there yesterday. We ate there at the Fishermen's Grotto market and had some oysters and a Ahi tuna salad. It was so good. We have eaten at Abalonetti a few years back and I had the sand dabs that was so good. Also ate at the Old Fishermen's grotto for our b-days a couple of years ago and had some Filet mignon and some lobster tail with some chocolate cake and they brought us out a free cheesecake which we didn't want because we were so full but they brought it anyways. We ate that to lol. We were pigs that day. Great video. Hope to see more of Monterey from you.

Yeah. I think the Montery Fishermans Wharf actually has a Fishermans vibe 😀
