Food, amazing. Shops are cool. Beaches are amazing. Point Lobos is insane. But the real reason we visit Carmel, frickin’ BIG SUR-the gem of California. You just can’t beat this coastline and scenery.

Beautiful place. My husband and I were there on vacation many years ago. We walked around and later took the 17 mile drive, but didn’t see all these beautiful art places and restaurants. Well, we stopped there for a short time on our way to San Francisco 😊. Thank you so much for uploading this video👍
Thank you for sharing your experience! It sounds like you had a lovely time, even if it was just a short stop. I'm glad you enjoyed the video, and thank you for your kind words! 😊🌊🎨

Thank you for the suggestion! Redding sounds like a fantastic destination. I’ll definitely keep it in mind for future videos-sounds like a perfect spot for adventure lovers! 😊🏞️🚴♂️

I have been there many times, its beautiful and expensive! Skip the theater, acting - not very good, at all! Beaches are so nice, and downtown Monterey is full of great restaurants and beaches to drive by and stop to enjoy! I know this is an add for Carmel- but you can EASILY spend time in very short distances between Monterey, Pacific Grove and Carmel-- they are well worth the time!! The CARMEL mission is stunning --but , make SURE you check the schedule of when its open--- at this moment--CLOSED---MONDAYS AND TUESDAYS, WED & Thurs.-- only 10 am to 4pm, Fri. 7 Sat.-- 10 am to 5pm , Sunday-- 11:30 to 5 pm! This is such a beautiful place FULL of history, a lot to see on the grounds and inside!! I sadly have seen MANY PEOPLE -- not get a chance to go to the mission-- just because of the hours! So plan accordingly!
It sounds like you've had quite a few memorable experiences in the Carmel area and its surroundings! Thank you for sharing your insights and especially the helpful tip about the Carmel Mission's hours. It's always a disappointment when travelers can't visit a landmark due to unexpected closures, so we really appreciate the heads-up. The beauty and history of the region are truly unparalleled, and your recommendations will undoubtedly be valuable to many! If you have any other favorite spots or tips, please feel free to share. Safe travels! ✈️🌊🌞
I love Carmel By the Sea. I really enjoyed the video. Thank you very much. Now I have a question. I saw the whole fish grilled at 4:50 min. on this video. Would you let me know where can I find that restaurant that has those whole grilled fish please. Thank you~
Hi there! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video. Regarding the grilled fish at 4:50, while I can't recall the exact restaurant from that clip, a spot in the area where you can find grilled fish is Sea Harvest. However, I can't guarantee it's the exact location. I'll keep checking in our server and will let you know if I find the exact info! I hope you find the delicious whole grilled fish on your next visit! Thanks for watching and for your kind words! 😊🍽️❤️

That sounds like such a memorable experience! Those cottages really add to the town's charm. I hope you have the chance to revisit one day and relive some of those wonderful memories! 😊🏡🌿
So, for whatever reason, we decided to dive there (scuba). it was BRUTAL.. the seas made most divers throw up before they could submerge. Beach access was brutal as the waves beat us into the sand. but.. the dive was incredible. Kelp forests with Seals all around.
That sounds like quite the adventure! Despite the challenging start, diving amidst the kelp forests and being surrounded by seals must have been absolutely mesmerizing. It's amazing how beauty can be found even after facing tough conditions. Thanks for sharing! 🌊🐠🌿🌍
I completely understand where you're coming from! The Pacific Ocean, especially along the California coast, can be quite chilly. While it's not ideal for everyone, some swimmers still enjoy the invigorating experience. If you prefer warmer waters, you might want to consider visiting during the summer months when the water temperature is slightly warmer, or exploring other destinations with warmer seas. Thank you for sharing your perspective as a swimmer! 🏊♂️❄️🌊
My apologies for any confusion! You're absolutely right, Bixby Bridge and Big Sur are not part of the 17 Mile Drive. I appreciate your attention to detail. In fact, we have a dedicated video about Big Sur coming out this weekend on my channel that showcases the beauty of the Bixby Bridge and the stunning landscapes of Big Sur. Be sure to check it out! Thanks for pointing this out, and I hope you enjoy the upcoming video. 🌉🌊📹
Great video! Interesting & informative. I was reading my Bible in the book of Jeremiah 46 verse 15 brought me here. Where the Lord mentions Carmel by the sea 🌊 I wanted to see for myself it truly is a beautiful place.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video and found it interesting and informative! It's always wonderful when people are inspired to explore beautiful places like Carmel-by-the-Sea. If you have any questions or need more information about Carmel or other destinations, feel free to ask. Happy travels! 🌊🌴😊

What is Carmel's safety like? My fiance and I are looking into having our Honeymoon there. Are there lots of homelessness? Should we avoid certain areas? Any hotels to look out for?
Overall, Carmel-by-the-Sea is known for its safety and tranquility. While homelessness exists in the area like in many other places, it's not typically a major issue in the main tourist areas. There aren't really any areas of Carmel that you would need to avoid completely. Just be aware of your surroundings, like in any unfamiliar place. As for hotels, there are many charming and upscale options in Carmel, such as La Playa Carmel, L'Auberge Carmel, and Cypress Inn, among others. Reading reviews can help you find the perfect accommodation for your honeymoon. Congratulations and best wishes on your upcoming wedding and honeymoon! 🌹🥂🏨
I totally understand where you're coming from! The lack of street addresses in Carmel-By-The-Sea does make it a bit more challenging to navigate or give directions. Using landmarks and nearby businesses as reference points can be a helpful workaround. Thank you for sharing your perspective - it's always good to have a mix of views! 😊🗺️✨
Hi my friend, I really liked your content! it would be great if you could credit the creators of the footage you have used in your video, (00:00:42 to 00:00:48 for instance) thanks! 😉
Carmel-by-the-Sea is in Monterey County, California, USA. It's located on the Pacific coast, about 330 miles (530 km) north of Los Angeles and 120 miles (190 km) south of San Francisco.
I appreciate your perspective! You're right, Carmel-By-The-Sea is especially known for being "dog friendly" more than for any other pets. And yes, the coastal climate can bring about cooler and overcast conditions, even during the summer months. But many find that the milder temperatures and soft light make for a serene and picturesque setting, perfect for leisurely strolls and outdoor activities. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! ☁️🐶🌊
How come there's a debbie downer out there? I was there in 1966 and it was absolutely gorgeous. The sun was shining. The Pacific coast is often gray. That's why we truly appreciate the sun when it's out!
Thank you for watching the video and sharing your honest thoughts. If you ever have any specific preferences or interests in mind for your travels, feel free to share, and I can try to recommend places that might align better with your tastes. Happy exploring! 😊🌍👍
Oh, what a stunning place we have here! I mean, just look at the comments on this video. "It’s pronounced car-ME!" Because, of course, we all need a lesson in pronunciation from the locals. Honestly, if you’re that snobby about a name, I can only imagine how charming the residents are.
