Beautiful place. My husband and I were there on vacation many years ago. We walked around and later took the 17 mile drive, but didn’t see all these beautiful art places and restaurants. Well, we stopped there for a short time on our way to San Francisco 😊.

Skip the theater, acting - not very good, at all!
Beaches are so nice, and downtown Monterey is full of great restaurants and beaches to drive by and stop to enjoy!
I know this is an add for Carmel- but you can EASILY spend time in very short distances between Monterey, Pacific Grove and Carmel-- they are well worth the time!!
The CARMEL mission is stunning --but , make SURE you check the schedule of when its open--- at this moment--CLOSED---MONDAYS AND TUESDAYS, WED & Thurs.-- only 10 am to 4pm,
Fri. 7 Sat.-- 10 am to 5pm , Sunday-- 11:30 to 5 pm!
This is such a beautiful place FULL of history, a lot to see on the grounds and inside!!
I sadly have seen MANY PEOPLE -- not get a chance to go to the mission-- just because of the hours! So plan accordingly!

What is Carmel's safety like? My fiance and I are looking into having our Honeymoon there. Are there lots of homelessness? Should we avoid certain areas? Any hotels to look out for?
Overall, Carmel-by-the-Sea is known for its safety and tranquility. While homelessness exists in the area like in many other places, it's not typically a major issue in the main tourist areas. There aren't really any areas of Carmel that you would need to avoid completely. Just be aware of your surroundings, like in any unfamiliar place.

So, for whatever reason, we decided to dive there (scuba).
it was BRUTAL.. the seas made most divers throw up before they could submerge. Beach access was brutal as the waves beat us into the sand.
but.. the dive was incredible. Kelp forests with Seals all around.
That sounds like quite the adventure! Despite the challenging start, diving amidst the kelp forests and being surrounded by seals must have been absolutely mesmerizing. It's amazing how beauty can be found even after facing tough conditions. Thanks for sharing! 🌊🐠🌿🌍

Car-Mel-by the Pee… let’s be honest it’s not “pet friendly” it’s “dog friendly” and it’s cold and overcast even during the summer.
