Another fun fact bout Gordon dam there’s no rio in it, it’s all concrete. The way it’s double concave gives its strength. Also there’s a series of plumbobs inside the wall to measure deflection to see how much water pressure forcing on the wall. Interesting history there and the power station insane also.
@@davebarns1 yea ya only see a small percentage of what’s actually there. Up top is basically a workshop and offices the real wonder is 28-29 stories below ground where the turbines are it’s a impressive site. They normally run a open day where the public can go look. I’ve worked there before doing turbine repairs and other maintenance outages. Pretty impressive.
Yeh really? Wow i didn’t expect that, i got up & stepped out 18meters in my hallway & was think’n Faaaaark imagine how much rio is in that it’d be insane. Now ya say there’s non, must be a strong concrete mix’n plenty of rocks & some full-on foundations.. Still a excellent engineering feat for Oz🇦🇺 especially for 1972-74 & still stand’n strong.
@@triggerhappy8872 it’s all to do with its double concave shape. The more water that’s in the lake the stronger it gets. Massive engineering accomplishment for its time
That was bloody awesome very picturesque. Maybe you should call yourself, Tyler Thompsons adventures, best of both worlds 4x4 and scenic. Those waterfalls are absolutely just magnificent.
Awesome video mate, great mix of 4x4, adventure, site seeing & camping. loved it. I feel like it really bought people on the adventure. Great job mate.
Shoulda bought a Toyota!! Who's in my backyard? Get off my lawn!! By the way we all know patrols are the bomb nuts with better running gear..thanks for this content That brought back a lot of memories as a child
They tidy up saw back range about every 3 to 4 years to try and keep it in a condition that isn't flogged out so stockish cars can run through there, last one was maybe 18 months ago, also being key system helps keep the track from getting flogged like most of the other tracks down here too
Wow, That damn wall is just a bit bigger than Blue ck dam back home.😆😆 Yeah I still call Wauchope home. Loving this tazzie adventure your having mate. 👍👍😃
"There's no point" going in..... I'll give you a point hahha CONTENT!!!!!! I know it sounds bad, i love watching the riggs give it a go. Loving the Tassie Videos mate

I just checked the map and the Mount Field National Park is something like 260 KM/4 hrs away from the Montezuma falls. The way you said like drive through the river and get to the sawback gate made it sound like it was next door :)
Tyler! Loving the videos, currently heading to Tassie with the wife in our dmax! Question for you, what do you use for maps to find all the 4wd tracks? Any help would be much appreciated! Cheers legend
Holy crap I havnt seen Adamsfield since I was Malakais age..that was my first gold panning camp with my dad..we were in a jimny..I'm now 40 and have an 80 series and prado.. We shoulda bought a Toyota
2 well sorted trucks, Tyler you must be very happy now in a wagon and not the Nav, #navlife, but this is GQis a weapon you've spent alot on a 30 yr vehicle but it'll out perform alot of new rigs, Tim is the man his knowledge and know how make him the perfect touring buddy. Kye us turning out to be the off sider galore and always a camera in hand he should have his own channel to show other kids how it can done
Another great vid Tyler! Heading to Tas from SA in a few weeks time myself. Just curious, would you say the Ring River track was easier going into or coming out from the falls? Cheers.

I would say easier coming out of falls but not a huge difference either way

Mud has to be the most fun to drive and watch but the worst for the vehicle in everyway 🤣
Is it just me or does anyone else’s OCD go Sysco with the 1 LED aerial and not 2
Has the engine been getting hot at all with the mods as its been working hard ?
Nope
Me gustaría q este canal tenga pista audio doblada español, gracias
