Where do you get friends like that, especially under those circumstances. Tyler keep Keepin it 💯% real, what y'all go through is so relatable. Much respect.
When you think that your rig is a great one, there is an adventure that brings you down to earth. Thank F__k for Tim. Not my type of rig, but hey, what a great one. He never gave up on you and got you out of there. 4WDrives - Money pits.
Murphys Law always In some form or other will pop his head up and cause a problem or on issue. Glad that you had Tim with you to get you out. Love the bush country. Awesome video 👍🏼🍻😎
Some of these tracks in tassie now you need 40-inch tyres. 35 and 37s are too small a tyre on some tracks. The tracks down the Huon are epic. We did a one run was on supposed to track an hour 5 hours later we were still on it lol. That last track you were on is also known as the water track it's epic when flooded lol. Great video. 👍
At the beginning mostly of the tracks were available for almost everyone... Now you need minimum 37s and it seems all those tracks are not maintained, so it is a bit frustrating because you need huge tyres (more money to spend on) and if you don't use them you can't enjoy the same tracks anymore. Unfair.
@@ViDiazears & years & years ago, I think you get the idea, only 31 & 32 were available on 15" rims. The beauty of it was though, everyone did track maintenance because we were all equivalent, fixed for one, fixed for all. Tyre sizes have become the scourge of track maintenance and the worst part is, if this occurs in N/P and the ranger can't get his std truck thru for daily inspections etc, well the go now days is just lock down the track, buggering it for all. I implore all of us to maintain tracks, it's in our interest to do so. Stories of old, link vehicles together with "A" frames, put a blade on initial truck push through and resurrect track surfaces for all to enjoy. Mind you, countable plod would take a pretty dim view of "A" frame strapped to bull bar now days. In the 80s we'd get away with it. Had an "A" frame on my Hilux as It was also a easy way to clear two vehicles thru a short abrupt obstacle, pivot "A" frame down, link to tow bar of front vehicle, send lead vehicle in, rear vehicle pushes them thru, then front vehicle pulled rear vehicle thru. Bloody catapillar effect. Ahh, the old days. Were we ratbags or what?
I remember a fella years ago that thought he blew his gearbox. Called me up to recover him, but it turned out the transfer had just popped into neutral. He felt like a goose, but it was a better outcome than a blown gearbox
Ned and Cazz, back in the late 70s I worked in seismic oil search, and the standard vehicle was a Landcruiser ute. It was a common practical joke to put the transfer case in neutral when you jumped out of a vehicle because 9 times out of 10, someone else would jump in to move it up the seismic line.
Awesome episode. Definitely a mission to the the Patrol out. Was awesome to meet you and your Dad yesterday, he's such an awesome bloke. Can't wait for your next Tassie episode
Super duper.TT.WOW Great action...poor Sherman has had a set back...Yup those sorts of tracks always with another vehicle...Get it fixed and back into it...The tassy series has been one of the best stuff to you have done..SUPER...😊
I find that with these full on tracks it’s best to travel with at least one Cruiser. 100, 200 whatever really Got quite stressed and tired half way through the recovery. Had to take a nap.
This is why I never do crazy tracks alone… Tim is an absolute champion I would pay him to roll with me if I couldn’t find anyone to come with me! The guy knows his shit
Vehicles with 37s that continually spin wheels in ruts rather than winch straightaway are making it nearly impassable for lesser diameter tyred vehicles. 🙈☹️
I’ve never known of a standard dual cab on 32’s etc. to even go near Willematte it’s a play area for comp trucks haha, it’s not a site seeing track like climies etc. so in a place like that they actually helped because the ruts are made by 40’s, so I take a little off the top with 37’s then Tyler takes the next bit off with his 35’s. 🤘🏻
We used to call that track the "bum crack" track back in the day. Due to that last tree before the road. It's claimed a damn lot of vehicles that track 😅 Well done fellas 👌
That’s Judbury for you, bad things happen out there - I’ve had my car breakdown badly out there and have had mates total their cars out there. Heard stories from park rangers about people getting killed out there as well. It’s a bad and lawless place
Could be clutch throw out bearing stuck keeping clutch disengaged. Happened to my GQ after a bunch of bog holes. Mud covers throw out shaft and bearing carrier jams. Externally the clutch operation looks fine. Internally throw out carrier jammed against pressure plate.
Your body, Tim, is a King here.... Still - I've rarerly heard td42 g-box is broken.... They are hursh and idiotproof. And You are not an idiot - that for sure 🤠
Wish I had a Tim to travel with😅😅 Well done boys. It's my biggest fear to break down out there in the wilderness. I can't wait for the next episode 👍👍 Who'da thought 35's are now to small?
What's with all the black smoke? Looks like you guys have had cowboy tunes on those rigs. Over fuelling leads to melted pistons and more. Great videos, though. Tassie is an awesome place. Keep up the great work 👍
Dispite what most mainlanders believe it does get hot in Tassie during summer, it's not unusual lol, it can be 23 and feel stinging hot different type of heat there. People whom visit tassie in summer are always shocked..wow it actually gets is hot here 🤣
Great episode as always I'd hazard a guess its the output shaft on the transfer case not the box or at least here hoping Great to meet you and the family yesterday
l am going to take a stab that Tim's GQ has a Cruiser transmission as that would explain the Yota badge. l have no idea why the Navara badge is there,,,,, the only good thing on Navara's are the wheel nuts,,,,, perhaps he has those as well!
Probably a bit late but Gu gearboxes have a much nicer synchro in first & second than Gq boxes, put heavier 5 gear input shaft & Marks overdrive 5 and it’s mint 🤠
@@TylerThompson90 bummer... look forward to the next video - Keep up the great work. You know you are a committed RUclipsr when you not only have to recover the vehicle like that from where it was in the dark BUT manage to keep the cameras rolling.
I stripped the splines on an output shaft in land rover defender towing a 2t trailer of turf in peak hour traffic. Came to an immediate stop on a busy railway crossing. It all turned to shit until a 2wd ute reversed up and hooked up a ratchet strap and pulled me off the tracks/road. Cost me $2k to fix after waiting 6 weeks for the workshop to have time. Turns out the spline is not lubricated at factory install and prone to failure. Indicator was metal dust showing through the weep hole near the bell housing. I feel your pain. Keen to see how you get on!
Your using/thrashing your 4WD well past it’s design parameters. What you need is a Unimog, which would better suit your needs. Your vehicle is obviously inadequate for these tracks.

3000km from home and she breaks out in the bush , enough to make my brain gears grind too, especially with having all the gear and son too to get out of the bush
Can we all give a massive shoutout to Tim for all the help he was for Tyler 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Saved me 😁
Absolute legend 👏
Get that man a beer 🍻 or 20.
What a legend, couldn’t ask for a better person to be up bush with broken down.

Damn Tim’s a machine.. bloody knows his stuff… probably the best Patrol co driver u could have!
Top episode 👍👍 12:07 GQ pros & cons 🤣🤣 Timmy has not only heart, but some decent humour too 👌👌
Tim is a bewdy bonza. Definitely a good bloke to have with u. Knows his stuff, seems like a propa chilled dude. His channel is excellent as well
Could someone post Tim's channel? I can't find it on Tyler's pages, but man, he deserves some more subs. Keen to see his stuff now. Cheers PP
With so much winching I wouldn't turn the car off, I would have it at high idle when stopped and let the battery get charge for the next pull.

That’s a prank we pull on our mates , they go to pay for fuel and we slip the 4wd selector into N… really shows if the driver knows his vehicle or not
yrs ago, mate rang from site,we,d left,,cant get up the hill,,went back, turned 1 hub in no worries..allways check equipment..
What a bummer, luckily you had a capable buddy.....🤙🕶
You deserve an award for this video

Good to see the big team effort got you out
It's good to see you guys doing tracks that arnt just the 'well known ones'
Wow, great ep and one hell of a recovery!
I think you need a 4wd with a wheel in the middle of the front and rear axle to tackle the deep ruts. Or 42's and portals.
I find that with these full on tracks it’s best to travel with at least one Cruiser. 100, 200 whatever really

Time for 315/75r16 Nitto Mud Grapplers or a 4 inch lift and 37x13.50r17 Yokohama G005 X-MT tyres or 37x13.50-17 bias Treps 😉
Awesome episode guys , that was pretty hard going through there .
Love this episode. All these tracks are my local ones 👌🤙

Yea mate my guessing I reckon it’s your input shaft inside your transfer case seen it happen in a in a land cruiser
Glad you keep following your dream, making watchable content, good stuff
You must have gained some decent pin-striping on White Timber. My little Zook did last time and it's a foot narrower than your GQs... :)
Gnarly times boys , got it done in the end 🤙🏼

Hard job recovering the GQ too🥵 well done👍🏼

Epic content 👌
That was epic, massive thanks goes to Tim for his awesome help, AWESOME 👌
Did it blow because it was thrashed to hard??? Just asking
Na ended up being a problem building over a while, had nothing to do with the track, was going to fail whatever I was doing
LOOOOOOOOOOOONNG DAY!!
Yep!
Love how unbothered Kai looks

31:20 That's gotta suck, man.
Who would have thought 35’s would be small! 🤦🏽♂️
whats more expensive/fun. having a new vehicle and touring and doing technical tracks or having a gq/80 series (old rig) and doing this kinda stuff?
Great vid, Tim seems like a top bloke. If you would have sent it, it would probably have been fine 😂
Probably 😂

Great to meet you and the family yesterday
Thanks mate! Full repair is next episode. Thanks for coming down to the show
Should’ve pumped ya tyres up mighta helped with diff clearance
Check the transfer hasn't slipped into neutral. If not I'm guessing the transfer has blown and not the gearbox.
Brutal lol
Tim's gq needs a bigger toyota badge to make it tow better 😆 🤣 😂

Probably tour the centre out of your clutch
Lehman needs new set of wheels come on Tyler sort him out 😂👍
Without Tim you be up the creek without a paddle, good bloke he got you out👍
Yep 👌
That was a stressful episode 😅
Maby when you do the gearbox, chuck some 37's on. 😅

What’s the chances his 4wd selector is in Neutral - I doubt it but imagine if it was

Sorry, but missing Gary.
Would anyone be able to tell me what size his wipe is, if you can that would be helpful.
theres a vid of a couple, in africa, he filmed while she laid heaps of logs for 40ft if not more..obviously no tri pods back then..
