      @@Katsurisan Usually something like trainers but with more or less flat and smooth surface on the bottom. Not something that will be providing grip. You want to be able to slide easily (try to practice on smoother floor surfaces too). I also always say that the formal shoes are often great for dancing too as they have flat, smooth bottom, but they could get worn out and damaged from dancing.

    I started learning V-Step, T-Step and the Runing Man using your tutorial. V-Step and the T-Step were hard in the beginning, but i slowed down the song and made it faster until i was able to do them on the normal speed of the song. I can do the V-Step and the T-Step and i also was able to combine them. And all that just after about 20-30 Minutes. The Running Man however i dont get. Idk where the Problem is but everytime i try it i get something wrong. I tried it in different speeds but im not able to do it yet. But im in quarantine (my whole country is lol) so i will learn those 3 steps everyday until i can do them. If you read this (creator of the video), can you say me whats best to do next after those three? But however man, keep up the great vids they really helped me!

    • @MatthewAshworth
      @MatthewAshworth  4 года назад

      Hiya. Well done for persisting despite the difficulties. Where do you think you're struggling with the Running Man? Is it the smoothness that's missing? Or perhaps does the move itself feel like it's not coming together. With the Running Man, a key thing to realise is that when you're sliding the feet backwards, you're sort of taking them off the ground slightly rather than sliding with your weight on them. So, you're meant to be almost hopping in a sense. After you've got a hang of these, I'd say try the Spongebob and Reverse Spongebob (Mr X).

    • @MatthewAshworth
      @MatthewAshworth  4 года назад +3

      What kind of surface are you doing this on? It might help to practice it on a smoother surface first. Also, are you trying to do it very fast? I'd recommend to go by a slower tempo first to get a hang of it, and only after that to speed up. Also with practice, your leg muscles will be improving too, so if it is physically-related, it should get better with practice.

      I got a hang of the basics (V-step, T-step, Running Man) in the first week, although in the weeks that followed I improved on them. It's kind of like an ongoing improvement as you keep practising more and more.

    • @MatthewAshworth
      @MatthewAshworth  4 года назад +2

      I suppose it works differently for everyone. The surface also plays a big role. With socks it only seems to work well on smoother floors, like tiles and wooden floors. On carpet it's just terrible. Glad you're making a breakthrough. :)

      To some degree, yeah. Ideally you'd want shoes that wouldn't have too much grip and can slide a bit easier. The surface on which you're dancing can also make a difference. Better to start on smoother floors.
