You have been a big help. I went to HomeDepot and they sent a contractor out to take a look at my stuck windows. He said nothing I could do about the fog and the windows that were sticking need replaced. Called Renew By Anderson and I want to tell you wish he would have used lube before he told me $70,000 to replace them. I have to fog fixed by a window company and have ordered cranks and now I know they can be adjusted. I'm saving $70,000
Hey James..so glad the video helped you, yeah nobody is honest or knows what they are talking about, Renewal is a great window but seriously over priced. Every part on Andersen is replaceable or adjustable, any questions reach out…
@@gerardliberto5539 no, the whole lock needs replacement. Problem is I can't find the serial number. Andersen supplies three sizes but mine seems to fall in between the mid and the tall ! I ordered the mid and it's a two inches short. Waiting for the tall to come in.
This is very helpful. I have an old sliding door which is very hard to open or close. Do you have any idea what to do. I tried to clean and grease the railing part.
The rollers on the bottom have to be the problem, greasing the track is just going to make a mess, take the panel out and put it one it’s side to check the rollers, also check to see if the head (top of the door ) is not rubbing on top, sometimes the house settles and the door gets crushed from the header, then remove the trim and cut out the shims if any, that should raise it.
It’s the (hinge) they are left and right handed, also find the year in the stamped on the glass right or left corner last two digits are year, Sometime you can get part number stamped on arm, remove sash and swap out arm. 888-888-7020 Andersen parts
Hi I just bought a house with an Anderson bay casement window. My window won’t close because the reveal shows that the top right corner is high and there’s a gap at the bottom (top is high on the right from the outside- locks are on the right side when you’re inside). It’s an older casement and has a single(?) arm. I’m not actually sure if it’s a single or a split arm. It has an arm that goes in a channel under the sash that you can push down on when your at the indent on the window channel and that arm comes out. Is there a way to adjust those window? All the videos show using a wrench but my windows don’t seem to have a nut to adjust.
If it’s a bay window and your having problems with the side casements opening, most likely your window dropped down or is out of level, put a level on the seat of the bay window to check, you probably need to jack it up and reset it, build a bracket to hold up the unit if you have no cables. Or you could possibly adjust bottom hinges by taking sash out and remove the screws holding bottom hing on and slide it towards the middle one screw hole over and reinsert screws. Not and easy fix with casements.
@@gerardliberto5539 yes thank you for your reply. I think you’re right it has sagged a bit. I’m going to see if I can get it squared by having it jacked up. Would shimming under it be enough or do I need some sort of corbels for support? I’m not sure about digging footings for posts to support it. Although bushes would definitely easily hide them, I have natural gas and my meter is in the basement under this window so I’m pretty sure the gas lines are right there.
@@gerardliberto5539 I was wrong it’s not an Andersen window. I found that way up in the corner it says Marvin Windows and Doors and it’s hard to read the numbers but I think it’s A05171093944 NFRC 249.

This video was fantastic! Thank you so very much. I have older Andersen windows with a variety of problems and they are all working great now!!!

Great video! I have one problem not addressed: replacing a broken tandem lock. Looking forward to another video on that!
