    OMG! THANK YOU! You rock. I'm a little slow when it comes to excel and I've tried for YEARS to figure out how to incorporate it into my curriculum. You've made this so easy that I can actually use it in my classroom!

    Thanks! I would like to know how will you plot the scores in excel if the test questionnaire is the Likert type where it is distributed as follows: for questions with positive answers-strongly agree (4), agree (3), neutral (0), disagree (2), strongly disagree (1). For questions with negative answers-strongly agree (1), agree (2), neutral (0), disagree (3), strongly disagree (4). The neutral was credited as "0" to eliminate guessing. Thanks again!

      One way you could handle a Likert scale is to find and replace (ctrl f) each term with a number. You can replace all, then work with the numbers.

    Is there a way that this data can be switched into a visual aid like a graph or pie chart?

    Awesome, i have A question suppose that you have a questionarre it has for examples 50 question, and you are giving the respondant to choose between totally agree, agree, neutral, disagree, totally disagree, you will give the first one number 5, second 4.and so on how you will get the mean and standrad devitation in excel, it will become Very kind if you can provide with a tutorial in you tube, because I searched and i could not find, may because I am a begginer

      Short answer, You could use find and replace to change each "strongly agree" into a "5" and the rest. Then use =AVERAGE() and =STDEV()

    I'm using Google Forms to give the quiz.
    One question is
    "4. Someone who does a work-study training, in English we call that person an ________________. "
    I'm parsing (case insensitive) for the word "intern", but I'll also accept "trainee".
    After the students complete, I export the answers into an excel spreadsheet. Then I parse cells with answers.
    Cell O2 function which analyses cell N2:
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    =if(
    OR(
    ISNUMBER(SEARCH("intern",N2)),ISNUMBER(SEARCH("trainee",N2))
    )
    , "1", "0")
    1 = Correct; 0 = Wrong
