Good tutorial. However I feel MS Access (another Microsoft package) can store data more efficiently, shall be thankful if ranking illustration can be taught in MS Access form level.

In your case if you have same 2 rank you will not find 3rd rank similarly you have tripple 6rank then you will not get the 7th or 8th rank it will go to 9th rank insteadh

Hi, I have a question in " Excel Tips for Teachers Episode 3: Ranking results in Excel ". Admission #411and 412 are same rank with same total and %score, if I want to make #412 higher ranking than #411 because #412's writing score is higher so this case #412 is 6th place and #411 is 7th place, is this possible ?

Hi Atha, there is a third criteria in the function called [order]. Use a 1 here for Ascending order, or a 0 for descending order. So =RANK(A2, $A2:$A20, 0), for example.
