Free apps that scan and grade scantrons will do error analysis for you now.
OMG the good old excel interface. Love it.
how to download template sir
A very simple but very effective analysis ...for simple data analysis
11 years later. Just wonderful.
I'm using Google Forms to give the quiz. One question is "4. Someone who does a work-study training, in English we call that person an ________________. " I'm parsing (case insensitive) for the word "intern", but I'll also accept "trainee". After the students complete, I export the answers into an excel spreadsheet. Then I parse cells with answers. Cell O2 function which analyses cell N2: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- =if( OR( ISNUMBER(SEARCH("intern",N2)),ISNUMBER(SEARCH("trainee",N2)) ) , "1", "0") 1 = Correct; 0 = Wrong

Can this be a program system? Frequency of Error System?
Awesome, i have A question suppose that you have a questionarre it has for examples 50 question, and you are giving the respondant to choose between totally agree, agree, neutral, disagree, totally disagree, you will give the first one number 5, second 4.and so on how you will get the mean and standrad devitation in excel, it will become Very kind if you can provide with a tutorial in you tube, because I searched and i could not find, may because I am a begginer
Short answer, You could use find and replace to change each "strongly agree" into a "5" and the rest. Then use =AVERAGE() and =STDEV()
Hi. Thanks, this is way easier than the 4 hour crash course I got 20 years ago.
Your countif formula criteria is a NONSENSE without explaining why you choose ">0.895", rather than ">=0.9". Thumbs down
Thank you for your kind response!
Thanks! I would like to know how will you plot the scores in excel if the test questionnaire is the Likert type where it is distributed as follows: for questions with positive answers-strongly agree (4), agree (3), neutral (0), disagree (2), strongly disagree (1). For questions with negative answers-strongly agree (1), agree (2), neutral (0), disagree (3), strongly disagree (4). The neutral was credited as "0" to eliminate guessing. Thanks again!
One way you could handle a Likert scale is to find and replace (ctrl f) each term with a number. You can replace all, then work with the numbers.
Thank you, Jon! This is exactly what I need to share with my teachers!! Simple, easy to understand with a real example.
Thank you Jon
HELP! For my 70s, it keeps showing #VALUE! even though it can be seen clearly that there is 1 student who got >70%
If I received #### as average, what do I do?
Expand the cell
Thanks!!!
I am interested in using this video in a professional development curriculum we are writing at Deeper Dive Learning. I would appreciate if you could let me know of a current email where I could send you more information about this, as we hope you will be interested in furthering the professional development of many passionate educators. With sincerest thanks, Pamela Bruening, Ed. D. Founder and CEO Deeper Dive Learning
THANK YOU!
Is there a way that this data can be switched into a visual aid like a graph or pie chart?
If you go to quick analysis (right click) then you can
OMG! THANK YOU! You rock. I'm a little slow when it comes to excel and I've tried for YEARS to figure out how to incorporate it into my curriculum. You've made this so easy that I can actually use it in my classroom!
I want to see this monster Truss
Anyway you could show how you did the programming for this?
Those values you should have determined for yourself, it will depend on the marbles, the lighting situation, your setup, etc. I suggest investigating for yourself, and not putting yourself in this position for the next project.
You can't see them in this shot, but they are behind the paddle wheel. Actually, now that I think about it, we might have used only one switch and put 3 pegs on the wheel itself for simplicity. The program always assumed it started in home position. Once rotated, the switched just waited to be pressed again by the other peg.
We used 3 switches behind the wheel to indicate its position: Left bin, Home, and right bin. Due to time constraints we assumed the wheel would always start in the home position at the start of the program. If the photoresistor read a clear marble, the motor rotated one way until the wheel pressed the right bin button and stopped. then reversed until the home button is pressed again. Other bin, other directions.
I would if I still had the program. Suffice it to say the wheel would rotate for 10 s or until the light sensor was tripped behind it indicating a marble had gone through.
I'm currently doing this, but we have to make a light on every floor that indicates where the elevator is.
@gayhtee its a simplified set up. you're right, there are no buttons inside the elevator, but that is a result of a shortened time constraint during the workshop.
@YMRInumba1 Yeah, it's a bitch sometimes. Last year I never got my marble sorter to work right, partially because I was a dumbass, but more so because the program is so damn inconsistent with its timings. Sometimes the light will take .3 seconds to turn on, sometimes .6, you know.
Nice!
I am currently in POE at my school and can't seem to figure out the programming for this!
