I enjoy your reviews so much, can say that I fully trust them, as we seem to have similar taste. I was exposed to GI JOE in early 1990's due to the fact that I live in Poland, and obviously before 1989 we didn't have access to anything openly praising America. My family was quite poor back then, so I only had 1 action figure, but I remember that GI JOE was the only comic series I was reading. I just love this Deck Builder. It's incredibly thematic, the game mechanics are fun, and it's a love letter to the IP and 80s kids, who love it. I'm currently painting Mission Critical, got expansions waiting, and soon will have all expansions for the DB. Guess I'm compensating for childhood 😉. But these games are just brilliant!
Bro! My brother barfed all over my Go-Bot command center! It stained the stickers forever. I never had the GI Joe Command Center, but I did have the aircraft carrier from a garage sale. Next, you need to do a top-10 Action cartons from the 80’s list. 1-GI Joe 2-Transformers 3-Thunder Cats 4-Voltron (with the lions) 5-Robotech
Maybe somewhere down the line. Would I judge them by how I liked them as a kid, or how I like them now. Because the GI Joe cartoons... They don't hold up... They don't hold up.
So do you have to have all previous expansions to play the current? Is the base game required for the expansion? ie are you combining all the cards from all the expansions in the decks? I have everything but haven’t had the ability to play them yet. Just saw the Silent interlude expansion with Silent castle dice tower.
I have all the expansions and played them all - looking forward to Raising the Flagg. I have not combined them - don’t think that would work to well. Each expansion is kind of self-contained. Just saw the announcement for Silent Interlude. Looks great!

So would you say this is *better* than Legendary?? o.o Also, that command center *was* awesome! It didn't just look cool, it was built with all the other toys in mind!
@@TheDiscriminatingGamer Wow that's great for you Cody! i can not find this game. Hey i know you're a fan so can i ask you? What would you do if G.I.JOE went into full re-release. Oh. Morning Cody. Love your channel and review. Seems we have similar gaming tastes... War Room, Company of Heros, fellin love with Attrition of Souls.... But I was wondering if you could recommend any good Naval games??? Yesterday I ordered Atlantic Chase, but at the Sentry Box I was looking at Bismarck by Avalanche Press, or saw an unboxing of "The Chase of The Bismarck by Vuca simulations.... I love naval hostory and would love to find a great Dreadnaught or WWII naval game that comes recommended by you??
Honestly, I haven't played many naval games. Atlantic Chase is great. I've played several sci-fi games that essentially are naval games like Star Wars Armada and Talon. Years ago I played Iron & Oak from GMT which I enjoyed - Civil War era. Wish I could be more help.
@@TheDiscriminatingGamer ... Hey no problem. There are so many out there. I love Star Wars Armada. But it does take up space and at about 85 dollars CDN for a large ship gets costly in a hurray. I am afraid to go down the victory at Sea rabbit hole for the same reason of Armada. I will keep my eyes open and if I find something I willlet you know in a comment section somewhere!!!! Prost!!!! And since we are in the Canadian week of Remembrance, Lest we forget.
@@tylerhagel3624 If you’re okay with sci-fi naval, I’d strongly urge you to check out Talon from GMT. A lot less expensive than Armada, and set up and take down are a lot quicker.
@@TheDiscriminatingGamer Generally the promo materials that you get for pre-ordering games from Renegade are made available for a modest price of $5-10...but then you gotta pay shipping too.

Is this game based on a film noir parody I watched in the 1980s ??

It was called "Shadow of the Serpent" starring John Holmes.
YIKES!!!
Love the game, and my only gripe with this expansion is they used Cobra Storm Shadow art on his cards instead of the GIJoe version of Storm Shadow.
I hadn’t noticed.

I've got to play this more, but who knows? It could very well eclipse Legendary for me in time.

After the new expansion - Raise the Flagg Campaign, where would you now place Shadow of the Serpent?
Number #2 expansion
sweet, love the base game as well! You didn't fine out anything regarding the bonus box, did you?
I haven't, no. Check Renegade's website.
