I'm sick of having a huge box of holsters I bought that just didn't work out. Going to order one of these next payday. My problem is that there are so many options on the Alien Gear website, I'm not sure which one to get.
They talked me into a Shapeshift OWB holster. And I don't regret it. It came in today after I ordered it last week. I wore it for a couple of hours today and was surprised by the comfortable feeling of the neoprene. Nothing cutting in my love handles and a nice and cool feeling.
This was a excellent informative video. When choosing a holster, many other companies cater to the Glock.Gun stores can't carry enough different ones which makes Alien Gear the perfect option.
Purchased the shape shift holster system and utilize the appendix style for a large 92 Beretta. Amazing concealment, it's the best and most comfortable I've ever had in 17 years of cc.

Most comfortable holster I have ever worn. Sometimes I forget I am even carrying. Customer service is phenomenal. They take the time to listen to your questions and most of the time a have answers for you right away. Great company to do business with. Excellent job too everybody who works for alien holsters. So true! I screwed up and ordered the wrong size for my gun and I called customer service and got a pleasant female human on the 2nd ring and sent me out the correct holster without even getting the first one they sent me back very impressive
I like the shoulder holster, especially since I like to venture out a lot, keeps my belt free for other things like my knife and flashlight, but also offers a lot of options for the multiple seasons.
Waiting for my starter pack to come in with added ankle carry attachment. Also got an extra shell for another pistol. Alien Gear did good with their innovation here. Modularity rules.
I only use OWB holsters for open carry. I like Fobus personally. My first holster was an Alien Gear IWB with belt clips for Shield 9. Used it for maybe 8 moths but was just too big. I purchased a Ruger LCP2 which comes with the pocket holster. It is nice warm weather carry and a backup in some instances I pocket carry it sometimes but most of the time I tuck it in may waist between my shorts/pants and my underwear at 4 o'clock. I figured I would get a similar pocket style for the Shield. I ended up with a Sticky holster for it and love it. Stays in place nicely also at 4 o'clock unless you are doing acrobatics.
Three reasons I, like Nate, like to carry with a shoulder holster. First, it is comfortable and I can carry it all day long. Second, I can easily cover it with any open light jacket, button down shirt, etc. In the summer, I wear a colored t-shirt with a snap western shirt over it. I can leave the shirt open in most scenarios but if there's a situation where I need to be sure not to show my gun or just need to look more civilized, I can snap the shirt which is very easy to open if I need quick access to my gun. Third, and last, the best reason for a shoulder holster is that I don't always have a belt on. In fact, I don't always have pants on (I know TMI) but I always have my shoulders everywhere I go.

I have a couple different alien gear holsters, and they are great! Had a couple of issues with the clock tuck 2.0, and they replaced every time, no argument! I’ve sense upgraded to the 3.0, and never a issue, and I’ve also have the shape shift, great product!

Great video, but need to try that with a big guy of 6'2" and 275. In my younger, trimmer days I loved owb, but as got a tire around the middle, found it harder to find a holster that would work. There is a whole lot to learn here though, especially for the younger generations.
When I'm in the woods, I like to wear my kyvek paddle holster with the paddle in my pocket. It keeps my 9 at a very convenient location, almost a quick draw position. Of coarse, this is a little off topic, not concealed, but very comfortable.

I use a Cordura material, nylon webbing for retention and nylon piping on the edges. I use really wide (2") HD nylon strapping for the belt loop. My belt loop is positioned so that I have the center of balance below the top of my belt. I live in Amish country and I have an Amish harness maker make my belts. (haven't had one wear out yet)

I open carry, and I'm using one of your holsters to do it. I just bought a replacement for it because I don't like having to undo my belt to remove it. Great holster though.

Awesome video! I have both IWB & OWB for my Glock 48, first holsters I bought for it and they'll be the only ones. Second to none. I hate how a lot of companies just throw up a bunch of holsters on their site and you're just supposed to already know how each on wears or what's required to conceal it. This is why I'll be buying an Alien Gear. They let me know what I need to know instead of forcing me to scour the net to figure it out for myself.
When I was taking my CCW permit class, the instructor about midway through the class asked how many guns we thought he was carrying. Other than the 1911 on his hip and an ankle hold steer he showed us. Most guess about 4 or 5. He had 11 of coursed some were pretty small.

I luv my shap shift holster. My ONLY! gripe is for us 1911 guys is one size fits all Nerve racking sometimes. But other then that there great. The only time i use owb is in the winter when coats required
most people wear jeans every day,.you should consider making OWB with a denim cover over leather or kydex and incidental showing will be obscured..Just an idea
Contact cement, scrap denim, a kydex holster and it's a dyi. Even easier would be a paint job that gives you a color that is in the close enough category. Either would hide an incidental exposure.

7:50 big fan of a shoulder holster as well. I wear a vest of some sort pretty often, which is a pretty easy way to conceal. I just picked up the shape shift core kit, and may have to get the shape shift shoulder holster to go with it at some point.

I have no intention on carrying concealed with the paddle holster. I will have it open with my Beretta M9 and have my shoulder Alien gear for my Sig P938 . Being from Ohio I can do both . Love all the Alien gear products !
You guys should have covered the problem that I 1st picked up on. The guy wearing the shoulder holster. I figured he had one on because of the way he was carrying his arms. He definitely looked tense and was carrying his arms out not hanging naturally. Very hard look natural with a shoulder holster.
I want a OWB paddle holster that also has slots for my belt to go through as well. Also I would want the same type of holder for 2 spare mag clips. A Ruger SR9 is a fairly big gun. I think in some cases printing is a good deterrent.
I am traveling across the country soon. I meant like truck stops, rest stops, and Walmart parking lots. For inside stores a should holster will be fine. I will be wearing one with out the gun in it. keeps my pants up when caring on my belt/pants. I know I should get a new belt but my grandfather gave it to my father before he passed and at 17 I got it I am 40 now so I is well worn and sentimental to me. Genuine cowhide leather lasts forever it seems. Plus I do like to wear shirts on size bigger. it's extremely hard to find t-shirts and shirt in 2XLT even 3XLT that doesn't cost and arm and a leg. But I do see your point. I expect to run into Barney Fife .
I wish they made a holster for my Xds mod.2 9mm from Springfield which has a 4" barrel and a CT1500 red dot.. I just can't find a good holster for it anywhere.. I like iwb, owb, with a cant to it, appendix style and for times that I wear a jacket I also like the shoulder holster.. Hopefully they will come up/out with one soon.. Conceal clothing options are limited for me in Florida. It gets too hot for that many layers or thick material clothing. I would never feel comfortable with OWB.

Since I'm not a PO or security or military I have a holster of simple design with retention screw. I have no need for a level III retention holster. I carry OWB by wearing a black Tshirt one size too big with a long tai. I can carry my S&W 586 4" and Colt 1911A1 and never worry about accidentally exposing it while I reach up or squat down.

I had the 3.0 and thought it was great.. Then I bought the 4.0 and it was an improvement. It's slightly smaller, and has a better backing. It's sooo comfortable, I forget it's on. I also have the 4.0 ankle holster. IF you have bigger ankles.. then it's probably not a great fit. I have not tried the shoulder holster yet. I do have a G&G Shoulder Holster and a Galco Miami Classic for my smaller guns and they are nice, but the great thing about the Alien Gear one, is the stretchable belt hooks. You definitely need those belt straps because when sitting, the shoulder holsters will ride up to your neck. Sitting and standing in a shoulder holster will shift it's position. Those back straps will most likely keep it positioned correctly. Every time I climb out of my car I have to re-position my shoulder holster and move it back down my back away from my neck. The G&G is a pain. The Galco is better with a smaller gun. Ill have to order the Alien Gear and try it out. Great video. You guys are kind of normal size. You obviously don't have "DAD Bods".... Things are a little different the heavier you are.
Hi guys, First, what brand is the Flannel shirt? I like the lower pockets. Also sorry guys. After needing to professionally CCF for almost 40 years I can tell you, many Law enforcement agencies now forbid ankle carry. This because if you get into a fight and end up on the ground fighting, frequently your gun will present itself to the bad guy. After spending much more than an embarrassing amount on holsters, one of the best I have found and worn is the Fobus paddle. Its inexpensive, easy on /easy off & wears close to the body. When you need to remove your gun in certain locations (interview rooms) and secure it, you do not need to handle it outside of the holster. Regarding IWB I know it is popular in some circles, however I personally find it uncomfortable and cant justify a second set of pants just to have a wider waistband for when doing IWB. I find modular types nothing but a compromise and some of the holsters in the video just plain bulky. Good luck and keep trying to come up with the perfect holster, if you do I will probably buy it.
I have been carrying for over 30 years and for me IWB is not an option. Ive tried numerous IWB holsters and for me they just don't work. OWB holsters are actually easy to conceal Ive never had a problem

That's right. I carry a Glock 17 with a TLR-1 light attached & 2 spare mags concealed under an untucked golf shirt whenever I'm speaking to a group about carrying a concealed pistol for defense (usually church or civic groups) to demonstrate how easy it is to do. A good belt & holster are a must.
I carry a cz75b but live on the border of Virginia and tennessee the Virginia side not very friendly to printing so thinking about getting a smaller boot gun that I can hide better.
I bought a Alien gear IWB and hated it. Want it back, it's free if you pay the shipping. I carry a Crossbreed IWB for both of my carry firearms and love them.
I've had a cloak slide for number of years but I stopped wearing it long ago. It's retained to the belt with leather straps that have a lot of up and down movement which simply gets worse as the leather stretches. The holster starts flopping around and there's excessive upward movement before the firearm starts coming out on the draw. Something as simple as a different belt loop would solve the problem.
What an excellent example of going from a 34 waist to a 42 pair of levi's lol. Completely dependant on where you are, what you're doing, what pistol you prefer and obviously do you drive a real mans GM or you stick with Ford? Overall good presentation for the city boys guys, well done. Stay safe and do not pick up anymore ammo, I need to grab some so leave some for me 👍
In Oklahoma the law is the firearm has to be directed downward or upward. Anything else will be considered as pointing the weapon at whomever is in the line of the barrel. It is also considered sweeping too. That was a law that was past. This last legislative session and signed by the governor in 2021.
Very good and informative video. Just a quick point. I live in Oklahoma, which is an open carry state. I never carry open because I don’t want the bad guy to know I’m carrying. But, carrying concealed is much easier because I don’t mind if it does print a little bit. Most of the public don’t watch that closely for CCW people. One more point. I am not a fan of ankle holsters, because I want to be able to run away fast when that is a safe option. One more point. I carry a quality switchblade knife as my backup weapon. (They are now legal in most states. Check your local laws.) Sometimes it is a better weapon when a firearm is too dangerous for innocent bystanders.
At 8:45. I never worry about where my gun is pointing when holstered. Pointing behind you in the horizontal shoulder holster is fine. What if you change the angle to vertical and you're over a basement or on the 2nd floor? A gun pointing in the direction of someone else is not unsafe until it gets into someone's hands. Probably anyone in a city has gun barrels facing their direction dozens of times a day. The adjustable cant is cool for comfort or for concealment, depending on gun shape and body shape. It's not a safety issue at all.

Can you make a holster that holds a 9mm below belt line without bulging and allows the slide and barrel to slip past your block and tackle without scrapping carbon fiber on the silk skin .
AG still does not accommodate the Glock 43X MOS with the Streamlight TLR7 sub. The 43X and 43X MOS were the #1 and #6 pistols in regards to sales in 2022 with the TLR7 sub being the #1 gun light sold to pair with those weapons. It's been over a year since I requested that combo. I'm sure others have as well. Maybe some disconnect between the design department and marketing?

Awesome video! I have both IWB & OWB for my Glock 48, first holsters I bought for it and they'll be the only ones. Second to none. Plus, nobody else offers lefty holster for Glock 48 at a reasonable cost. Ordered mine and one for my mom (for Mothers day) who carries a G43. Excellent product, 5 out of 5, highly recommend!

I hate how a lot of companies just throw up a bunch of holsters on their site and you're just supposed to already know how each on wears or what's required to conceal it. This is why I'll be buying an Alien Gear. They let me know what I need to know instead of forcing me to scour the net to figure it out for myself.

When I was taking my CCW permit class, the instructor about midway through the class asked how many guns we thought he was carrying. Other than the 1911 on his hip and an ankle hold steer he showed us. Most guess about 4 or 5. He had 11 of coursed some were pretty small.

I luv my shap shift holster. My ONLY! gripe is for us 1911 guys is one size fits all Nerve racking sometimes. But other then that there great. The only time i use owb is in the winter when coats required
most people wear jeans every day,.you should consider making OWB with a denim cover over leather or kydex and incidental showing will be obscured..Just an idea
That's a great idea, I doubt they will do it, but it seems like something I could do to my existing holsters
Contact cement, scrap denim, a kydex holster and it's a dyi. Even easier would be a paint job that gives you a color that is in the close enough category. Either would hide an incidental exposure.
I wear black jeans and that helps

7:50 big fan of a shoulder holster as well. I wear a vest of some sort pretty often, which is a pretty easy way to conceal. I just picked up the shape shift core kit, and may have to get the shape shift shoulder holster to go with it at some point.

This is by far my favorite way to carry
Aspects to a good holster:
* Firearm retention - the weapon does not slip out of the holster
* Holster retention - the holster stays where you put it
* Prevents Negligent Discharge - Trigger Guard and trigger is covered completely
* Easy to reholster - More for the range training
* Concealment - The best holster is garbage if people know you're packing
* Number Two - how easy / convenient / QUIET is the holster when you have to go number two at work?

I have no intention on carrying concealed with the paddle holster. I will have it open with my Beretta M9 and have my shoulder Alien gear for my Sig P938 . Being from Ohio I can do both . Love all the Alien gear products !

You guys should have covered the problem that I 1st picked up on. The guy wearing the shoulder holster. I figured he had one on because of the way he was carrying his arms. He definitely looked tense and was carrying his arms out not hanging naturally. Very hard look natural with a shoulder holster.
I want a OWB paddle holster that also has slots for my belt to go through as well. Also I would want the same type of holder for 2 spare mag clips. A Ruger SR9 is a fairly big gun. I think in some cases printing is a good deterrent.
I am traveling across the country soon. I meant like truck stops, rest stops, and Walmart parking lots. For inside stores a should holster will be fine. I will be wearing one with out the gun in it. keeps my pants up when caring on my belt/pants. I know I should get a new belt but my grandfather gave it to my father before he passed and at 17 I got it I am 40 now so I is well worn and sentimental to me. Genuine cowhide leather lasts forever it seems. Plus I do like to wear shirts on size bigger. it's extremely hard to find t-shirts and shirt in 2XLT even 3XLT that doesn't cost and arm and a leg. But I do see your point. I expect to run into Barney Fife .
Pleaseeeeee make holsters for optics and suppressor height sights! I love the modular system, but I use red dots.
I wish they made a holster for my Xds mod.2 9mm from Springfield which has a 4" barrel and a CT1500 red dot.. I just can't find a good holster for it anywhere.. I like iwb, owb, with a cant to it, appendix style and for times that I wear a jacket I also like the shoulder holster.. Hopefully they will come up/out with one soon.. And then you get oddities like my friend who grew up in Florida, moved to Illinois, and somehow doesn't need a jacket until it hits 34F.
Conceal clothing options are limited for me in Florida. It gets too hot for that many layers or thick material clothing. I would never feel comfortable with OWB.

I have a glock 20 gen 4 10 mm with a TLR-1 streamlight on?, right hand, which one do you recomend?
Since I'm not a PO or security or military I have a holster of simple design with retention screw.
I have no need for a level III retention holster.
I carry OWB by wearing a black Tshirt one size too big with a long tai.
I can carry my S&W 586 4" and Colt 1911A1 and never worry about accidentally exposing it while I reach up or squat down.
I seem to have one of the models y'all don't have anything for. In the family but nothing for the Canik TP9 sfx's longer barrel/slide.

I had the 3.0 and thought it was great.. Then I bought the 4.0 and it was an improvement. It's slightly smaller, and has a better backing. It's sooo comfortable, I forget it's on. I also have the 4.0 ankle holster. IF you have bigger ankles.. then it's probably not a great fit. I have not tried the shoulder holster yet. I do have a G&G Shoulder Holster and a Galco Miami Classic for my smaller guns and they are nice, but the great thing about the Alien Gear one, is the stretchable belt hooks. You definitely need those belt straps because when sitting, the shoulder holsters will ride up to your neck. Sitting and standing in a shoulder holster will shift it's position. Those back straps will most likely keep it positioned correctly. Every time I climb out of my car I have to re-position my shoulder holster and move it back down my back away from my neck. The G&G is a pain. The Galco is better with a smaller gun. Ill have to order the Alien Gear and try it out. Great video. You guys are kind of normal size. You obviously don't have "DAD Bods".... Things are a little different the heavier you are.

Hi guys, First, what brand is the Flannel shirt? I like the lower pockets. Also sorry guys. After needing to professionally CCF for almost 40 years I can tell you, many Law enforcement agencies now forbid ankle carry. This because if you get into a fight and end up on the ground fighting, frequently your gun will present itself to the bad guy. After spending much more than an embarrassing amount on holsters, one of the best I have found and worn is the Fobus paddle. Its inexpensive, easy on /easy off & wears close to the body. When you need to remove your gun in certain locations (interview rooms) and secure it, you do not need to handle it outside of the holster. Regarding IWB I know it is popular in some circles, however I personally find it uncomfortable and cant justify a second set of pants just to have a wider waistband for when doing IWB. I find modular types nothing but a compromise and some of the holsters in the video just plain bulky. Good luck and keep trying to come up with the perfect holster, if you do I will probably buy it.

I have been carrying for over 30 years and for me IWB is not an option. Ive tried numerous IWB holsters and for me they just don't work. OWB holsters are actually easy to conceal Ive never had a problem
...any good suggestions? I have a friend who is looking for options

That's right. I carry a Glock 17 with a TLR-1 light attached & 2 spare mags concealed under an untucked golf shirt whenever I'm speaking to a group about carrying a concealed pistol for defense (usually church or civic groups) to demonstrate how easy it is to do. A good belt & holster are a must.
I carry a cz75b but live on the border of Virginia and tennessee the Virginia side not very friendly to printing so thinking about getting a smaller boot gun that I can hide better.
The reason I like the Sig Sauer P226 is that it's small enough and now the 365 is even better, to wear with the T-shirt

I use a Tulster contour OWB with a S&W shield plus, conciels under a t shirt no problem.
I bought a Alien gear IWB and hated it. Want it back, it's free if you pay the shipping. I carry a Crossbreed IWB for both of my carry firearms and love them.
Try this in Florida or any hot state . Cc is so much harder in hot climates
I cc in las vegas, usually with owb leather (highnoon holster with a cz spo1 phantom) i got 1 alien gear holstet for my p07 and its not bad at all.
I've had a cloak slide for number of years but I stopped wearing it long ago. It's retained to the belt with leather straps that have a lot of up and down movement which simply gets worse as the leather stretches. The holster starts flopping around and there's excessive upward movement before the firearm starts coming out on the draw. Something as simple as a different belt loop would solve the problem.
I tried the cowboy boot a long time ago. The holster worked its way down and down until the gun was hopelessly stuck. Had to pull the boot off first.
Great video. I have a shield as well that I carry. I also have my Glock34 winter carry gun. I would love to see some larger pistols in this demo.
In Texas in summer I wear a small leather belt slide and a Guayabera Shirt
What an excellent example of going from a 34 waist to a 42 pair of levi's lol. Completely dependant on where you are, what you're doing, what pistol you prefer and obviously do you drive a real mans GM or you stick with Ford?

In Oklahoma the law is the firearm has to be directed downward or upward. Anything else will be considered as pointing the weapon at whomever is in the line of the barrel. It is also considered sweeping too.
That was a law that was past. This last legislative session and signed by the governor in 2021.
I have found tucking an iwb holster between belt and pants vs inside pants can be more comfortable for some reason
Very good and informative video. Just a quick point. I live in Oklahoma, which is an open carry state. I never carry open because I don’t want the bad guy to know I’m carrying. But, carrying concealed is much easier because I don’t mind if it does print a little bit. Most of the public don’t watch that closely for CCW people. One more point. I am not a fan of ankle holsters, because I want to be able to run away fast when that is a safe option. One more point. I carry a quality switchblade knife as my backup weapon. (They are now legal in most states. Check your local laws.) Sometimes it is a better weapon when a firearm is too dangerous for innocent bystanders.

At 8:45. I never worry about where my gun is pointing when holstered. Pointing behind you in the horizontal shoulder holster is fine. What if you change the angle to vertical and you're over a basement or on the 2nd floor? A gun pointing in the direction of someone else is not unsafe until it gets into someone's hands. Probably anyone in a city has gun barrels facing their direction dozens of times a day. The adjustable cant is cool for comfort or for concealment, depending on gun shape and body shape. It's not a safety issue at all.

Can you make a holster that holds a 9mm below belt line without bulging and allows the slide and barrel to slip past your block and tackle without scrapping carbon fiber on the silk skin .
AG still does not accommodate the Glock 43X MOS with the Streamlight TLR7 sub. The 43X and 43X MOS were the #1 and #6 pistols in regards to sales in 2022 with the TLR7 sub being the #1 gun light sold to pair with those weapons. It's been over a year since I requested that combo. I'm sure others have as well. Maybe some disconnect between the design department and marketing?
