- A collection of lane crossers and driving fails recorded on Mulholland Hwy over the last 6 Months. Celica at end is same as one from beginning, he crashed a couple turns after he passed me.
Mulholland Highway in Los Angeles has been a popular riding area for motorcycles & fast cars for decades. Car and motorcycle clubs are regular visitors every weekend. Jay Leno can often be found at the famous Rockstore and at a view point called Lookout talking with fellow motor enthusiasts. Crashes are common as well as a heavy police presence on most weekends. The Snake is a two mile section of Mulholland above the Rockstore. Riders usually will make multiple runs allowing me to move from corner to corner when assembling rider videos. The speed limit is 45 mph, most riders are not going much over that so the majority of tickets are crossing the line, wheelies or equipment violations. Bicycles are up here all the time but motorcycles and bikes seem to do fine together as long as the cyclists are willing to stay to the right. Cars passing them are a bigger problem since there is no shoulder and most turns are blind.
I mainly shoot on the last corner coming up because I can see much of the road and photogs are expected. The turn gets it's fair share of crashes but people crash other places also just no one is filming. The top corner I shoot seem to average one crash every couple weeks in the summer, out of many hundreds of riders. 911 emergency services are rarely called and accidents are seldom reported since most riders do not get injured severely. I very much doubt you'd be fishing for an insurance payout on a 90's ZXR. It looks like it is in good condition, which almost certainly means it's seen more money spent on it than it'd be insured against. On a hot day and with a bit of work in the tires you don't really want to be rolling bikes into dust and gravel when you can avoid it. Maybe he could have found a safer place to park, maybe there's another corner just up the road out of shot.

Used to be a hot spot for motorcycles to carve up and cars. Kind of a motorcycle Mecca here in LA. Since the fires 2 or 3 years ago that road has been closed so rnickeys channel pretty much stopped.

You can't blame anyone but the driver for pushing past their limits, or the car's limits. I've never once thought "I'm being filmed, let me push my car past its limits, drive well beyond my limits, and move over into the oncoming lane." No, I just stay within limits. If you have half a brain, it's not that hard. If a camera makes you go that overboard, maybe you shouldn't be driving.

(Even if there was, a squirrel running into the roadway happens normally, you don’t have to be messing around for that to happen, so it would’ve been irrelevant anyways) I typed that because I sounded like one with the audio sped up. I was going 5 over the speed limit when I did that. It was on an enduro bike. If you knew a damn thing about bikes, you’d know those are extremely easy to catch air on. It’s a set of tracks that had a huge bump on the end of an incline up to them. Not hard to catch air. Also wasn’t putting anyone in danger but myself due to no traffic.
So quit crying. The speed limit was 45, and the bike tops out at 75 on a good day. I was doing 50. Caught like half a foot of air at most. I never said I don’t goof around, I just said I stay within my limits. After 10+ years of riding dirt bikes, I think I can confidently jump a few inches in the air over some train tracks bud. Funny your ass got so butthurt at my comment you took the time to go to my channel. Thanks for the view. Lmao

@@connordavis5086 While I agree that this corner is NOT a corner where one should consider a lane cross, lane crossing is, in my opinion, a viable way to drive sporty when you can guarantee the safety of others. This would include a corner that is not blind and has no oncoming traffic, pedestrians, etc. This corner is not fully blind, but the very start is blind. Already it should not be cut as some section of the corner is blind. Also, it appears that the corner is a high traffic spot for photography, thus should also not be cut due to pedestrians.

This corner is easy, just brake and slow down right before the turn, use the gas pedal to balance the car through the turn and accelerate coming out of the turn. I can take this in my 2017 Corolla SE with the CVT. :D

You know people drive like shit, why park your bike in a place where its is highly likely to take a hit at any given moment? So you can do an insurance claim?? Back up 50 feet or more and park it, OR don't park it right on the side of the road! Everyone that ever had their bike hit because they had parked it there deserved it 100%.
