- DC and Ken Block present Gymkhana FIVE: Ultimate Urban Playground; San Francisco.
Shot on the actual streets of San Francisco, California, GYM5 features a focus on fast, raw and precise driving action. Filmed over four days, director Ben Conrad and his team are back to work on their second Gymkhana production and delivered the entire city of San Francisco as Ken Block's personal gymkhana playground. DC Shoes also provided fellow DC athlete and longtime Ken Block friend, Travis Pastrana, to make a cameo appearance on his dirtbike, and S.F. resident Jake Phelps of Thrasher Magazine fame also makes a cameo as Block hoons S.F. in his most incredible Gymkhana yet.

Can't believe he's gone, fly high 43, you will never be forgotten for the things you've given to this community ❤️
This year will be 10 years since we lost Paul walker now Ken
right!! i came straight to this video, my heart hurts so much.
@@Ana-ck6jy this is the first one i think of when i think ken block, rewatched this so many times in between sessions of playing Dirt 3
OMG!
This man was part of the reason I chose to work on cars. 10 years later I'm still in the auto industry and it feels like home. He had a large influence on who I was when I was younger, and it's sad that during an event like this it becomes obvious to yourself.
RIP Ken, this was one of the first videos I ever watched on RUclips and had to come back. You will go down in history as one of the greatest racers of all time. Fly high legend.
Word! This is why I’m here as well. Pay some respects and watch the smoke!
This was also the first time I ever saw him, what true talent this man had. Such a shame he is now gone. His legacy is enormous!
May he rest in piece and hopefully his family will find closure.
He s not dead, you can watch his new gymkhanas on channel Hoonigan
@@subzerovalve you're not the sharpest tool in the shed are you
@@subzerovalve ...you know those are made by Travis Pastrana right
His turning jump at the top of the hill was always one of the most insane things I've ever seen done in these gymkhana videos but that ending. I can't watch it without crying anymore. They unintentionally made a wonderful short but impactful tribute. You will forever be missed Ken.
Yeah that was hard to watch. completely forgot they added that in the end and now I’m about to pour one out for the homie. RIP.
Says it all, Ken came to the top of Lombard with his foot in the carburetor.
Seen this video so many times throughout the years but now the ending with sailing is very touching. RIP my brother.
Yup, I just watched it again, 4 times in a row.
My first real introduction to the Gymkhana-Hoonigan stuff. I grew up as a child watching your artwork. Ken, you were more than a hero to not just me but so many others too. You will be remembered forever. The shoes you left will be hard for anyone to fit. Rest In Peace Ken 😢❤
🙏🙏🙏❤️
When you say forever I back that. Absolute legend FOREVER!!
Me too this is first video i watch about him
without sounding insensitive, Travis Pastrana definitely has a shot in his boots! look up the recent Travis Gymkhana, he'll be giving Ken a run for his money! RIP to an absolute Legend though, will be sorely missed by all.
Same 🙏🏻
I love how everyone is going back to the videos where it all begin for each of us, rest easy Ken ❤
it was my natural reaction. this videos are part of his legacy, so there's perhaps no better place to show our appreciation.
This was my introduction to this amazing guy. RIP Ken, the Heavens won't be so quiet anymore.
❤
Immortal
Facts I'm just hearing about it sadly. This is the video that started that journey with knowing him. Rip Ken Block 🕊️
Over the years I can’t even remember how many times I have watched this video and it still blows my mind how precise he is with the car. Shred those tyres up there Ken, you’ll be greatly missed. RIP
I was the 43rd like. I feel honored
Come Sail Away playing as Ken does donuts on a barge hits different now that he's gone. I couldn't imagine a more appropriate "ride off into the sunset" moment for number 43.
I didn't know this one would be this difficult to swallow once it's set in. We love you Ken, you probably went with a smile on your face and the needle in the red.
@Nap Time for sure he is. My only question is, what car did he do the reverse entry through the pearly gates in? 🤔 I'm torn between a group B car or the Hoonicorn. Or maybe a car from Gymkhana 1 or 2? Or hell, maybe he went with something weird just cuz he's Ken Block 🤷♂️😆😆😅😭😭😭 God I'm gonna miss that guy.
@@GregoryGreg87 bro what are you like 9?!
@Game Over Well, I don't call people "bro," so clearly I'm older than you. And despite not knowing Ken personally, he meant a lot to me and one of my brothers. So, minus a lot of details that you don't need to fuckin worry about, Ken's death hit us kinda hard. And on that note, you can take your immature ass elsewhere and fuck yourself with a sandpaper dildo.
@@GameOver-nm2usYour only youtube videos are minecraft and PUBG mobile, theres a time and a place for being “edgy”, somebody asking a question and paying respects isnt that bud

Wow RIP Ken the last part really got me... Almost as if it was made as a fairwell knowing the future
Honestly I was going to turn the video off then the music kicked in with the birds flying and ken stood by his car I had to keep it on!
That music got me hard.
Excuse for my bad English. I am from Germany. I am so sad about what happend. I watched all the gymkhana videos and it was my childhood. Ken was my hero. Fly high legend 🕊️
Your English isn't all that bad. 👌
I’ll always keep coming back to this, so beautiful. It’s how I learned of Ken Block and this performance is perfection. And the Styx song, always loved it, but now, it has new meaning. RIP Ken.
Having Styx play at the end....Man... this was hard.
For real….

So we’re all here right now… here’s what he stood for, someone who wasn’t afraid to push boundaries and prove everyone wrong. I grew up watching Ken and Showing all his Gymkhana videos to friends and family feeling like I was showing them the coolest videos on the internet. And years later… I still find these videos to be the coolest on the internet. Fly High Ken Block. I’ll miss you.
Without a doubt Ken you have left us all forever changed by what an absolute artisan, in complete and masterful control of their machine is capable of. Blowing the lid off everything we thought we knew about at the limit drivecraft. My heart goes out to your family, friends, and all you were able to amaze and inspire. I’ll never stop rediscovering your videos and working to live each moment as fully as possible. RIP. KING OF THE ROAD! Sorely missed forever...

I remember watching this video with my dad 10 years ago, I was 8. I was obsessed with this guy, my dad and I played so much dirt 3 driving his gym 4 car around the free roam map. It was on my bucket list to meet Ken Block one day. My dad had to tell me constantly “he’s just a normal guy, he’s just a person” but this guy was my hero. He was the mascot of my childhood interests. He was exactly who I wanted to be when I grew up, zero differences and nobody else.
I built lego cars and made stop motion videos based off of gymkhana. He got me into cars and racing and drifting, i would’ve missed out on so much if I never watched this video for the first time 10 years ago. Watching these videos reminds me how much I’ve grown, but also the ways I’ll always stay the same. Thank you Mr Block
Dirt 3 was released in 2011, his latest gymkhana-spec Fiesta was from Gymkhana 3 at that time, the one with green Volk Racing TE37s.
Man ken was so inspiring and I can’t believe he’s gone, but he will always be here in the heart of the car community R.I.P. ken
Thank you for the inspiration you provided as a person, driver, and competitor. This Gymkhana was the very first video I ever saw as a kid that made my eyes wide to the possibilities of driver skill. I still show this to people that have never heard of him and ask me what he was. I can never really describe it so I just say "I'll show you what he is." I'm still just as amazed seeing this now as I was then. RIP Ken, my thoughts and best wishes go out to his wife and children.
RIP Ken Block. Thank you for bringing us this incredibly epic content for years. Truly the GOAT.
I remember when I first saw this video. It’s how I discovered KB, and fell in love with all his work. RIP to a legend and prayers to his family.
Sad he's gone but look at all the amazing work he has left for all of us to enjoy. An artist behind the wheel.
Rip legend, big motivation. Ken and his awesome driving and those videos changed my life and brought me from Iraq to Cali to be near legends like him. #43

Just about read Ken had left this world, which is hard to understand, especially because he was born just a little more than one year after me.
Like Michael Schumacher (though not dead) it was also a tragic accident in the snow, after all the racing they both have done...
I will remember him by seing or re-seing a lot of his groundbreaking, fun and entertaining videos.
He always made a great and genuine appereance, and seemed to be a great man, that I think left a very good and lasting impression on this world, that he left way to soon!

After watching several of these, I learned to relax. I feel like fixing my 4 wheel drive 300 hp street car now. Being familiar with SF, I realize they must have been limited in the streets they could close off.
For sure. And with all the editing and tire marks on the ground you can tell there were multiple attempts and lots of stitched together sections. Still impressive though
Same idk why but watching this video made me think I have to start working on my project car
He'd never get above 20 mph if the streets weren't closed off! LOL And the cable car scene didn't use cable cars - they were replicas on wheels that anyone can rent.
