In 2013 I was in first row in front of him and I was looking psyched for 20 minutes straight at him. I Didn't realize he could see me. He leaned forward towards me and stared back very aggressively, mirroring my expression, took me a while to realize what was happening. I finally looked away towards Trent Reznor and he went back to his spot. I didn't mean to distract him, but I would do it again for such an epic moment :D
Lol In 2018 I was right in front of him and at the end of the show I did the heart hands and yelled at him that I love him. He looked so confused like "me?" And I'm pointing at him to give him clarification. He is so amazing but maybe all the adoration makes him uncomfortable.
I had a similar thing happen with Pearl Jam's guitarist, Stone Gossard, in Mexico City- last show of their Riot Act tour. I was right next to the stage and he just stared me down for like 20 minutes. I mean several songs. Someone next to me asked if i had done something to piss him off. It fucked me up. A while later i was listening to an interview with him and Jeff Ament and Jeff gave him a hard time for his prolonged, angry looking stares when he zones out on stage. It brought me back and made me think (hope) that he was having one of his episodes or whatever. One hates to have a hero shit stare at them :)
"in the beginning" of the internet, Robin had a blog with pictures he took and texts he wrote, and he had his email on display for everyone that wanted to send him a message. So I´ve sent him a message, because nine inch nails were my favorite band since i was a teenager. Robin and i became "pen pals" and he always answered my letters in a super kind, gentle and humble way. I love Robin and i know he is a super sensible person. Everyone has bad days, and im sure if he freaked out at this moments he certainly had reason for it. Thank you for all Robin! I miss you and i hope you´re reading this! You rock my friend!
Michael Perkovich I think they’re so used to each other cause been playing together for decades. I saw Trent choking the hell out of Robin in another video.
@bigbigsound If you think the techs would go mental from someone smashing a guitar, you haven't seen NIN circa early 90's. There was less stuff unbroken than smashed after shows. Look up what Trent did to Chris Vrenna one show.
Axl could have learned a thing or two from Mr. Finck about how to properly vent anger on stage during the 2nd gen GNR days. When Finck does it, the crowd understands... when Axl does it, there are riots.
I Finck he's freaky and I like him a lot........smashing guitars is hot. Sometimes equipment fails and perhaps we take dramatic licence and smash shit that's trash anyway, sometimes we have a meltdown and know we have money to replace stuff..hell yeah. Jimi Hendrix can smash guitars and light them on fire but if Robin does it he's a prick ehhh? Again it's great when emotions flair and equipment flies! I also think Robin is supremely talented- he won me over and I'm picky
The last clip was not for show. What happened was that he kept playing his part but the tech had him muted. He kept on doing and kept the spirit but nothing came in return so he ended it. The crowd is reacting because they are aware of the fact that he played for nothing.
Uggghh... I'm fairly certain that none of his fans give a shit that he fucked with GNR... I mean, good for him, and I'm sure he was paid well, but,... Fuck 'em.
Fuck yeah, I'd get aggravated time to time working in the Trent spiral. I don't blame him at all. Sometimes you just need to get it out. He's stuck it out for decades and is a guitar officer and a gentleman.
At least SOMEBODY was smashing some gear on the NIN/JA tour! I saw NIN during the LightsInTheSky tour and there was absolutely nothing knocked over, smashed, etc. either.
I’d like to know the backstory of why he threw the guitar at someone in the crowd. He threw it hard too. That could’ve been or was a big lawsuit. With video proof someone could get rich.
From what I recall people saying who went to that show, he threw it into the space right infront of the metal barricade, it wasn't aimed at anyone and didn't hit anyone. Reason was tech issues.
@misshazy wtf it's purely subjective. Some people see good talent there, I don't. I'm not required to go and find fucking scientific evidence to have an opinion on youtube. He's bad, regardless of who has hired him.
@misshazy if Trent reznor thinks he is good enough to play with nine inch nails obviously he is fucking asome you'll see i don't think he would accept someone at least he is fucking great, i don't think he ever ever ever would include slash in nine inch nails, that's why he plays with Paulina Rubio and Black eyes peas hahahahahahahahahaha
More likely the other way around, and I'd break shit too if I was Robin Finck and had to teach some Eddie Van Halen/Randy Rhodes wanna-be douche bag that has to walk around with an empty KFC bucket over his head to be recognized. Guitarists like that have to compensate for their lack of imagination and creativity by trying to throw in some poorly imitated "Eruption"-esque solo that makes everyone (except other musicians) fall into the whole "playing multiple fast/finger tapping solos in every song = proof of a talented guitarist" trap that many fans falsely believe to be an accurate way to determine a guitarist's level of overall skill. Of course any amateur musician knows that there is little skill required in that form of guitar playing. Basic knowledge of a few scales and a little dexterity is all that's needed to "shred." The truly talented and innovative guitarists have the patience and innate ability to feel the rhythm and melody in their bones and become a part of something intense and truly creative by knowing when to play, and more importantly, when NOT to play. Nobody can necessarily teach you how to have that unique ability to release the natural grip that ones' ego and worst fears have over how we behave and think. It's not easy to put yourself in a position where the protective barriers we build to shield ourselves from failure are no longer there as a safety net. It takes an overwhelming amount of self-control to essentially reveal the most intimate parts of our minds, bodies, and souls, leaving us in a tremendously vulnerable mindset. When a musician can find a path to achieve this revolutionary level of self-control free of creativity-killing barriers and self-consciousness, they become a conduit for pure, uninhibited, and transcendent creativity. The few who are capable of such a radical transformation are the ones who are ultimately remembered in history as revolutionizing the world of music.
@misshazy oh i see, thats the part where you pretend you know anything about me, and pretend you know anything about guitar; never saw that coming. Robin Fink is bad for a number of reasons including, but not limited to; his generally bad guitar playing ability. I found it necessary to comment on this photo because no else seemed to realise. I'll pm you my address. It's ok, you're just mad because having terrible music taste, and knowing I'm right but not being able to admit it. Its ok, mate

I personally love the man. He is a gentle, talented genius. This is all for the show.
If finck threw a guitar at me I'd fight with my life to keep it
Fuck yeah me too! I seen one of robin's guitars for sale for 9000

1:50 trent (or keyboard player) doesn’t even flinch lol

@@chowdigg source? I need it for my... Uh, research.
9 months late but eh m.ruclips.net/video/o2Z6vPva_Q4/видео.html
I love Robin finck...he a great guitar player ever
that last clip was an epic guitar smashing..........perfect form, obliterated guitar, followed by a pouty storm off stage. well done, robin.
Love that guy.) He`s adorable, even when he pissed.)
@bigbigsound If you think the techs would go mental from someone smashing a guitar, you haven't seen NIN circa early 90's. There was less stuff unbroken than smashed after shows. Look up what Trent did to Chris Vrenna one show.
What'd he do???
Michele Obama split his head into two.
Axl could have learned a thing or two from Mr. Finck about how to properly vent anger on stage during the 2nd gen GNR days. When Finck does it, the crowd understands... when Axl does it, there are riots.
Does anyone have a video from the crowd where he destroys that acoustic? That was awesome! Hahaha
holy shit actually fucking listening to piggy on my cd player rn and it's perfectly synced up at the beginning
Possibly played to a click live so it’d be the same tempo as the record, that’s cool tho
The last one was brilliant, I love Finck, haha.
@misshazy Yeah Robin's probably the calmest guitarist NIN's ever seen. I'm surprised you could find this many aggressive clips of Robin.
That guitar was not worthy of the Fincktser. I love you, Robin!
I Finck he's freaky and I like him a lot........smashing guitars is hot. Pretty sure hes on his 3rd acoustic for the tour now haha!
Not sure if it was for show or he needs a better guitar tech.
The last clip was not for show. What happened was that he kept playing his part but the tech had him muted. He kept on doing and kept the spirit but nothing came in return so he ended it. The crowd is reacting because they are aware of the fact that he played for nothing.
i love him so muhc
Robin🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Gotta be Jones Beach @0:56 right?
An Axl/Finck tantrum duel would be awesome!
Uggghh... I'm fairly certain that none of his fans give a shit that he fucked with GNR... I mean, good for him, and I'm sure he was paid well, but,... Fuck 'em.
just too much awesome in one person
I’ve watched this a million x lol
I fuckin l9ve robin fink he is mah shit
yokohama still makes my heart hurt. the whole japan 2001 thing actually.
and i didn't know about the last clip. damn. somebody got fired later on
HAHAHA fuck yeah thats awesome with acoustic at the end. I had read that he was one of most calmer people in the band too!
😍💕😍💕😍💕 I LOVES ROBERT FINCKE
What was the song in the very first clip?
@misshazy aha, I love nine inch nails, but Im more in depth with their newer stuff. I soon figured out which song it was after watching this video.
Hey dude i know it’s 11 years later but did you find out what the last song was?
@@arash-whogivesafkwhatmylas1364 hey dude. I think it's the end of becoming? Lol

He doesn't seem too fond of those acoustic guitars.
Managed to make Axl look normal 😂

Terry Hesticles not as rich say they were aka Trent
Who fucking cares? You're there to listen to a musical performance, not the musical equivalent of How To Basic
My f*cking crush!!! !!! 💝💟❣
Quel épais!
En que concierto de GNR paso eso :o ?
@misshazy When did "trent give him grief"
the sound at 1:49 soothes my soul.
Wow he fucking loses it during the becoming ! The guy is my hero !
Does Buckethead keep refusing to give him guitar lessons?
have to agree with this being cliche and duechy, but it still is fucking awesome
that's the good music part.
@misshazy lol umad bro?
Or rather, Robin is not boastful

@@misshazy That makes more sense Thanks for the info.
It should also be noted that no security guards were in the empty space either. He pretty much threw it at the ground below
